General Tips
- This is the official guide for Darkness and Flame: Born of Fire.
- Hidden-object puzzles are referred to as HOPs. This guide will not show screenshots of the HOPs, however, it will mention when an HOP is available and the inventory item you'll collect from it.
- In mini-games, cw and ccw represent clockwise and counterclockwise.
- This guide will not mention each time you have to zoom into a location; the screenshots will show each zoom scene.
Chapter 1: The Water Mill
- Take the BROOM (A).
- Look at the sketch (B); take SILVER FLOWER 1/8 (C).
- Use the BROOM (D); take the SCOOP (purple).
- Try to take the ladder (E); use the SCOOP (F) to acquire the SCOOP OF GRAIN.
- Use the SCOOP OF GRAIN (G); open the gate (H).
- Turn left.
- Talk to your dad (I).
- Take the CORN (J), PIN (K), and BUCKET (L).
- Open the CORN (M); take the CORN.
- Use the CORN (N).
- Take the KEY (O).
- Walk down.
- Place the BUCKET (P); move the ladder (Q).
- Use the KEY (R).
- Enter the house.
- Push the cart (S).
- Turn the spinning wheel (T) to acquire SILVER FLOWER 2/8.

- Turn right.
- Place the BAG (L); take the FIR BRANCHES (M).
- Use the FRUIT PICKER (N) to acquire the APPLE.
- Go to the Field.
- Use the SICKLE (purple); take the MONKSHOOD (O) and MINT (P).
- Go to Colin's House.
- Place the ROSE HIPS, APPLE, MONKSHOOD, MINT, and FIR BRANCHES (Q).
- Prepare the potion: 1-9-2-9-7-8-9-9-11-10-10-4-12-4-3-4-5-4-13-6.
- You receive SILVER FLOWER 8/8.
- Go to the Attic.
- Place 8 SILVER FLOWERS (R); take the HAIRPIN (S) and photo (green).
- Go to the Path to Colin's House.
- Use the HAIRPIN (T); take the HAMMER (U), PART (V), and SACK (W).
- Use the HAMMER (orange); open the door (X).
- Take the MOSAIC PART (Y) and PART (Z).
- Turn left.
- Place the MOSAIC PART (A).
- Play the mini-game.

- Pour the OIL over the PICK-AXE (A); open it (B) and take the ICE AXE.
- Go to the Market.
- Talk to Janie (C).
- Take the EMPTY JAR (D).
- Collect 9 EGGS (green) and the BLUE CRYSTAL (E).
- Place 9 EGGS (F).
- Play the mini-game.
- Solution: 1-12.
- Take the EMPTY FLASK (G) and PART (H).
- Walk down.
- Place the BLUE CRYSTAL (I).
- Turn left.
- Talk to Marcus (J) to receive the NOTE.

- Select the correct symbols (W); take the MOSAIC PARTS (X).
- Go to the Street.

- Go to the Street.
- Use the CROWBAR (Y); take the BOOTS (Z).
- Go to the Lab.
- Place the PART (A).
- Go to the Market.
- Give the BEADS to Janie (B) to acquire the CHLORAL HYDRATE and SYRINGE.
- Use the CROWBAR (C).
- Go to the Scientist's House.
- Place the BELLADONNA EXTRACT (D), SYRINGE (E), and CHLORAL HYDRATE (F); open the belladonna extract.
- Pour the hot water (G), belladonna extract, and chloral hydrate into the bowl (H); put the syringe into the bowl to acquire the SLEEPING POTION.
- Go to the Market, move forward.
- Infuse the FISH with the SLEEPING POTION (I) to acquire the FISH WITH SLEEPING POTION.
- Use the FISH WITH SLEEPING POTION (J).
- Take the NET (K) and LIZARD SKIN (L).
- Go to the Scientist's House.
- Give the LIZARD SKIN to Marcus (M) to acquire the HANDLE.
- Stitch the NET with the NEEDLE AND THREAD (N) to acquire the BUTTERFLY NET.
- Go to the Lab.
- Place the HANDLE (O).
- Go to the Firefly Cave.
- Place the EMPTY JAR (P); use the BUTTERFLY NET (Q).
- Take the JAR OF FIREFLIES (R).
- Move down.
- Place the JAR OF FIREFLIES (S); take the SCREWDRIVER (T) and PICTURE OF ROCK TOWERS (U).
- Place the PICTURE OF ROCK TOWERS (V).
- Play the mini-game.
- Solution: (W).
- Take the COGGED SHAPED KEY (X).
- Go to the Market.
- Place the COGGED SHAPED KEY (Y).
- Play the HOP (Z) to acquire the DIVING HELMET.
- Move forward.

- Use the GLASS SHARD (K) to acquire the WEDGE.

- Go to the Giant Lizard.
- Place the CHISEL (O); hit it with the stone (P).

- Go to the Underwater Machine.

- Remove the part (S); take the STICK (T).
- Move the cloth (orange); take the GEAR (U).
- Go to the Scientist's House.

- Light the TORCH with the MATCHES to receive the TORCH.
