General Tips
- This is the official guide for Echoes of the Past: The Revenge of the Witch.
- Read your magic book for important clues that you picked up along the way (1).
- Your inventory (2) is located in the upper panel – move your cursor up to lower your inventory tray.
- You can lock the inventory in the down position by closing the lock (3).
- Hints are unlimited, but you must wait for the meter to refill (4).
- Hidden Object Scenes and mini-games are often randomized - your solution may vary.
- Hidden Object Scenes will be referred to as HOS in this walkthrough.
- Items listed in red in HOS require additional steps.
Chapter 1: The Knight and the Dogs
- Take the MAGIC STAFF as indicated by the Magic Mirror (A).
- Note there are spots for 10 gems on the staff (B).
- You will have the option of a brief tutorial.
- Chase the bird away and take the DAGGER (C).
- Walk forward.
- Look at the stone box and use the DAGGER on the emblem (D).
- Take the PLATE WITH SWORDS (E).
- Look at the wooden box and place the PLATE WITH SWORDS in the top (F).
- Select the open panel for a mini-game (G).
- Click on the line to light the crystals; single crystals require one line to light and double crystals require 2 lines.
- Select the lines highlighted in yellow from our solution (H).
- Read the scroll and take the swords MAGIC POWDER (I).
- Use the swords MAGIC POWDER on the beast knight (J).
- Take the 1/10 Staff Gem (K).
- Walk forward.
- Take the child's drawing (L).
- Take the DRY BRUSH (M).
- Note the area at the base of the broken statue on the left (N).
- Note the lock on the gate (O).
- Walk down twice.
- Look at the tree hollow and use the DRY BRUSH on the sap (P).
- Take the BRUSH WITH GLUE (Q).
- Walk forward twice.
- Look at the base of the broken statue on the left for a mini-game.
- Locate the 15 pieces of the bas-relief (yellow).
- Use the BRUSH WITH GLUE on the restored pieces (R) then take the BAS-RELIEF (S).
- The DRY BRUSH will return to your inventory.
- Look at the gate and use the BAS-RELIEF on the indentation for a mini-game.
- Place the tiles in the grid so neighboring elements are the same.

- Walk forward. After the cut-scene, walk left to enter the pharmacy (U).
- Move the debris on the floor aside to find the KINDLING (V).
- Look at the portrait and take the TINY SKELETON ARM (W).
- Take and read the scroll (X).
- Note the locked cupboard (Y).
- Select the desk for a HOS (Z).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Use the blue powder on the beaker to make the blue liquid (A).
- Use the 3 with FeCL to make FeCl3 (B).
- Take the CUPBOARD KEY (C).
- Look at the cupboard and use the CUPBOARD KEY in the lock.
- Select the cupboard for a HOS.
- Place the items from the inventory with corresponding items.
- Once you use the pincers on the nail you can place the poison (D).
- You will earn the EMPTY OIL CAN.
- Walk down twice.
- Use the KINDLING on the torch (E).
- Take the BURNING KINDLING (F).
- Walk forward.
- Look at the street light and use the EMPTY OIL CAN on the leaking oil (G).
- Take the FULL OIL CAN (H).
- Walk left to enter the pharmacy, then walk forward.
- Look at the hanging lamp and use the FULL OIL CAN on the base (I).
- Use the BURNING KINDLING to light the lamp (J).
- Move aside the debris on the floor to find the 1st CROWN (K).
- Move the table cloth to find the LENS (L).
- Open the case twice to find the SCALPEL (M).
- Note the lock on the storeroom door (N).
- Walk down once.
- Use the SCALPEL to cut the ropes on the case (O).
- Take the TINY SKELETON LEG (P).
- Walk down twice.
- Place the 1st CROWN on the left wall decoration (Q).
- Take the STOREROOM KEY (R).
- Walk forward, enter the pharmacy on the left, and walk forward again.
- Look at the storeroom door and use the STOREROOM KEY on the lock.
- Walk left into the storeroom.
- Move the boards aside on the floor to find the HOOK (S).
- Take the drawing (T).
- Take the 1st CERAMIC DECORATION (U).
- Take the ELDER LEAVES (V).
- Walk down 5 times.
- Look inside the window and use the HOOK on the skeleton (W).
- Take the TINY SKULL (X).
- Walk forward twice; enter the pharmacy on the left, go forward again, then enter the storeroom on the left.
- Look at the chest; place the TINY SKULL, TINY SKELETON LEG, and the TINY SKELETON ARM onto the figure (A).
- Take the TWEEZERS (B).
- Walk down.
- Use the TWEEZERS on the fish tank (C).
- Take the AQUARIUM HANDLE from the table (D).
- Look at the left aquarium; use the AQUARIUM HANDLE on the opening for a mini-game (E).
- Move the partition (F) up and down to allow the creatures to the right side of the tank (G).
- Try to keep the creatures from returning to the left.
- Get all the creatures to the right side and they will eat the seaweed (H).
- Take the PLATE WITH DOG PAW (I).
- Walk down.
- Look at the wooden box and place the PLATE WITH DOG PAW in the top (J).
- Select the open panel for a mini-game (K).
- Click on the line to light the crystals; single crystals require one line to light, and double crystals require 2 lines.
- Select the lines highlighted in yellow from our solution (L).
- Take the scroll and paw print MAGIC POWDER from the chest.
- Walk down.
- Use the paw print MAGIC POWDER on the dogs (M).
- Take the 2/10 Staff Gem (N).
- Look at the carriage and use the SCALPEL on the strap (O).
- Take the LEATHER HARNESS and the GUNPOWDER BARREL (P).
- Exit the close-up.
- Note the path to the town hall (Q).
- Walk forward to the square (R).
Chapter 2: The Grate and the Fire
- Look at the puppet wagon and take the 2nd CERAMIC DECORATION (A).
- Note the area at the base of the ladder (B).
- Select the far wagon for a HOS (C).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Use the match on the candle for the lit candle (D).
- Use the knife on the pie for the piece of pie (E).
- Open the chest and move items aside to find the brooch (F).
- Take the WOODEN QUATREFOIL (G).
- Walk down once, then go forward to the entrance of the town hall.
- Rotate the left lion statue (H).
- Take the lower SHIELD PART (I).
- Look at the front steps and take the 1st METAL LOCK PART (J).
- Look at the door and place the WOODEN QUATREFOIL into the emblem for a mini-game (K).
- Place the plates into the upper slots that have the same image.
- Picking up one plate will bring along any adjoining plates.
- Select the lion and move it to the center space in the upper right slots (L).
- Select the keys and move it next to the document (M).
- Select the document and move it to the left space of the upper left slots (N).
- Select the quills and move it to the left space of the lower left slots (O).
- Select the shield and move it to the 2nd space in the lower right slots (P).
- Select the quills and move it to the 3rd space in the upper left slots (Q).
- Select the tree and move it to the 3rd space in the lower left slots (R).
- Select the tower and move it to the 3rd space in the lower right slots (S).
- Select the tower and move it to the center space of the upper right slots (T).
- Move the owl next to the tree (U).
- Select the owl again and move it to the lower right slots (V).
- Move the lion to the last space in the upper right slots (W).
- After the door opens, walk forward twice.
- Read the scroll (A).
- Open the bench and take the PLATE WITH FISH EGGS (B).
- Walk down, then go to the left.
- Take the left FOUNTAIN PART (C).
- Remove the painting from the wall and note the mini-game beneath (D).
- Note the lock on the wooden door on the left (E).
- Place the 2 CERAMIC DECORATIONS into the wall (F).
- You still need one more piece.
- Walk down 3 times and enter the pharmacy on the left.
- Select the desk for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Place the herbs in the mortar to get the herbal powder (G).
- Take the LETTER N (H).
- Walk forward, then enter the storeroom on the left.
- Look at the cabinet on the right (I).
- Place the PLATE WITH FISH EGGS into the empty spot for a mini-game (J).
- Move the discs to the location on the board with the same number (K).
- Select a disc to move it to an adjacent empty spot.
- Our solution is: 1, 4, 7, 3, 9, 6, 3, 7, 4, 8, 5, 9, 6, 3, 2, 4, 7, 5, 8, 7, 4, and 1.
- Take the scroll, right FOUNTAIN PART, and the HAMMER (L).
- Walk down 3 times, then go forward to the square.
- Place the 2 FOUNTAIN PARTS over the fountain (M).
- Take the METAL SNAKE (N).
- Walk down once and enter the pharmacy on the left.
- Place the METAL SNAKE onto the lid of the box (O).
- Take the 2nd AQUARIUM HANDLE (P).
- Walk forward.
- Look at the right aquarium and use the 2nd AQUARIUM HANDLE on the opening for a mini-game (Q).
- Move the partition (R) up and down to allow the creatures to the correct side of the tank.
- Get all the red creatures to the left (S) and get all the green creatures to the right (T).
- When the 2 colors are separated and on the correct side, they will eat the seaweed.
- Take the 3rd CERAMIC DECORATION and the METAL FISH (U).
- Walk down and select the cabinet for a HOS.
- Place the items from the inventory with corresponding items.
- You will earn the hand FIGURINE PART.
- Walk down, then go forward to the square.
- Look at the puppet wagon and use the METAL FISH on the chest (V).
- Take the LETTER A (W).
- Walk down, then go forward to the town hall, enter the hall, then walk to the left.
- Place the 3rd CERAMIC DECORATION into the wall (X).
- Take the LETTER D (Y).
- Walk down, then go forward.
- Look at the left plaque and place the LETTER N, the LETTER D, and the LETTER A into the phrase (A).
- Take the PLATE WITH CROWN (B).
- Walk down once.
- Look at the box and place the PLATE WITH CROWN on the top (C).
- Select the open panel for a mini-game (D).
- Click on the line to light the crystals; single crystals require one line to light and double crystals require 2 lines.
- Select the lines highlighted in yellow from our solution (E).
- Take the scroll and the crown MAGIC POWDER from the open box.
- Walk down twice, then go forward to the square.
- Use the crown MAGIC POWDER on the metal grate monster (F).
- Take the 3/10 Staff Gem (G).
- Walk forward.

- Take the WORMWOOD (I).
- Enter the brewery on the right (J).
- Take the CROWN (K).
- Select the counter for a HOS (L).
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Use the nutcracker on the walnut to find the nut kernel (M).
- Use the knife on the potato for the peeled potato (N).
- Take the knight WOODEN FIGURINE (O).
- Walk down, then go forward.
- Take the SPADE (P).
- Note the bridge is out (Q).
- Walk forward on the path (R).
- Open the satchel and take the POISON (S).
- Note the owl is guarding something (T), and a gear is stuck in the log (U).
- Walk down 4 times and enter the pharmacy. Walk forward and enter the storeroom.
- Use the SPADE to dig up the 1st METAL DECORATION (V).
- Walk down twice.
- Look at the chest in the corner and use the POISON on the bowl for a mini-game (W).
- Move the red drops into the left beaker (A), and the blue drops into the right beaker (B).
- Use the bubble (C) to push the drops.
- Make sure you don't let any of the wrong color into the beakers; you will have to start that color over.
- Tip: start with red and do not worry about blue expect to keep it from entering the red beaker.
- Once you have all the red drops in the red beaker, herd the blue drops to the blue beaker, making sure none go in the red beaker.
- Take the 2 beakers, earning you the HERBICIDE and the OIL.
- Walk down twice.
- Place the CROWN into the right wall decoration (D).
- Take the PICTURE SCRAP (E).
- Walk forward 4 times to the town hall.
- Look at the painting on the right and place the PICTURE SCRAP in the empty spot for a mini-game (F).
- Restore the painting by moving pieces to the correct position.
- Select 2 pieces of the same shape to swap positions.
- Once the painting is complete (G), take the 2nd METAL LOCK PART from the central figure's hand (H).
- Walk down 3 times, then go towards the square forward 3 times.
- Use the HERBICIDE on the thorns (I).
- Take the 3rd METAL LOCK PART (J).
- Walk down.
- Look at the left door and place the 3 METAL LOCK PARTS into the lock (K).
- Turn the wheel to open the door (L).
- Enter the toy shop.
- Move the wood pieces aside to find the CARVING KNIFE (M).
- Take the METAL TONGS and the GEAR (N).
- Use the LEATHER HARNESS on the grindstone (O).
- Walk down, then enter the brewery on the right.
- Look at the cabinet and place the GEAR in the mechanism (P).
- Take the MINT LEAVES (Q).
- Walk down twice.
- Look at the puppet wagon and use the CARVING KNIFE on the figurine (R).
- Take the woman WOODEN FIGURINE (S).
- Walk down and enter the pharmacy on the left, then go forward.
- Look at the table for a mini-game (T).
- Place the MINT, ELDER LEAVES, and the WORMWOOD into the mortar (U).
- Use the pestle on the mortar (V).
- Pour the OIL in the mortar (W).
- Take the INSECTICIDE (X).
- Walk down and select the desk for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Use the scissors on the cloth to make the patch (Y).
- Take the CARD (Z).
- Walk down 4 times.
- Look in the tree hollow and use the INSECTICIDE on the insects (A).
- Take the TINY SWORD (B).
- Walk forward 3 times, continue towards the square, go forward then enter the toy shop on the left.
- Look at the tiny stage and give the TINY SWORD to the knight (C).
- Take the TOY PRINCESS (D).
- Select the cabinet in the corner and place the TOY PRINCESS on the grid for a mini-game (E).
- Move the figurines to the top green cells (F), while avoiding the red dragons (G).
- Moving a figurine will cause the other to move in the same direction.
- Move the Prince (H) along the green path until both figurines are in the upper left (I).
- Move the Princess (J) along the pink path to the green cells.
- Take the head FIGURINE PART (K).
- Look at the counter and place the 2 FIGURINE PARTS on the body (L).
- Place the DRY BRUSH in the glue, then use the brush on the figurine (M).
- Take the jester WOODEN FIGURINE (N).
- Walk down, then enter the brewery on the right.
- Look at the barrel and place the CARD in the empty spot (O).
- This will trigger a mini-game.
- Move all the cards from the pyramid (P) to the stock (Q).
- Play cards that are one higher or lower than the stock card.
- Select the cards in numerical order (1-25).
- Note the symbols (R) and take the SAFE HANDLE (S).
- Walk down, then enter the toy shop on the left.
- Look at the safe and place the SAFE HANDLE in the empty spot (T).
- Turn the knobs to reflect the symbols from the solitaire game (U).
- You can find the symbols in the magic book (V).
- Take the shepherd WOODEN FIGURINE (W).
- Walk down twice.
- Select the base of the ladder on the clock tower for a mini-game.
- Locate all the boards and nails to repair the ladder.
- Move the nets aside (A).
- Move the brambles aside (B).
- Locate the 6 boards (yellow).
- Move the leaves aside (C).
- Move the debris under the ladder aside (D).
- Move the debris by the barrel aside (E).
- Locate the 12 nails (pink).
- Use the HAMMER on each of the 12 nails that are on the rungs.
- Climb the ladder to the clock tower.
- Place the 4 WOODEN FIGURINES into the matching spaces (F).
- Take the PLATE WITH FIRE SIGN (G).
- Walk forward.
- Look at the chest and place the PLATE WITH FIRE SIGN on the lid (H).
- Select the open panel for a mini-game (I).

Chapter 3: The Water and the Skeleton
- Note the lock on the right door (A).
- Look at the left door and use the SIGNET on the lock (B).
- Enter the library through the left door.
- Take the DECORATIVE ELEMENTS (C).
- Take the scroll (D).
- Note the debris on the floor (E).
- Walk down 4 times, then go forward twice through the square.
- Note the greenhouse door (F).
- Look at the forge door and place the DECORATIVE ELEMENTS on the wood for a mini-game (G).
- Place the plates from the bottom area (H) into the upper diamonds (I) so the pattern progresses from left to right.
- The plates next to each other can differ by only one element.
- Enter the forge.
- Take the NAIL DRAWER (J).
- Use the bellows several times to blow away the dirt (K).
- Take the WRENCH (L).
- Walk down to exit, then enter the brewery on the right.
- Use the NAIL DRAWER on the wooden boards on the storeroom (M).
- Select the storeroom for a HOS.
- Place the items from the inventory with corresponding items.
- Once you unlock the chest, you and place the candle with the holder (N).
- You will earn the PIECE OF CHEESE.
- Walk down 3 times.
- Look at the carriage and use the WRENCH to take the METAL HOOP (O).
- Walk left to enter the pharmacy, then continue forward twice to the storeroom.
- Use the PIECE OF CHEESE on the mouse hole (P), then take the MOUSE (Q).
- Walk down twice and select the cabinet for a HOS.
- Place the items from the inventory with corresponding items.
- You can place the gem in the ring once you open the jewelry box (R).
- You will earn the LETTER R.
- Walk down once, go forward to the square, then continue forward twice.
- Look at the well and place the METAL HOOP on the bucket (S).
- Use the WRENCH to tighten the metal hoop, then take the BUCKET (T).
- Walk forward on the path.
- Look at the tree and give the MOUSE to the owl (U).
- Take the DOMINO PIECES (V).
- Walk down twice and enter the brewery on the right.
- Note the counter (W).
- Look at the table and add the DOMINO PIECES to the board for a mini-game (X).
- Place the tiles in the grid so neighboring elements are the same.

- Walk right to the dungeon.
- Move the bones aside and take the METAL GOAT (G).
- Turn the wheel and look at the skeleton (H).
- Use the SCALPEL to cut the ropes, then take the TOWER KEY (I).
- Take the drawing (J).
- Walk down twice.
- Use the TOWER KEY on the right door, then walk forward through that door.
- Take the scroll (K).
- Press open the panel (L), then take the STONE BALL (M).
- Walk down 3 times.
- Place the STONE BALL in the right lion's paws (N).
- Turn the lion; then take the PLATE WITH WATER SIGN (O).
- Walk forward and left; then enter the left door to the library.

- Place the STONE LETTER in the empty spot to trigger the mini-game.
- Form the phrase written on the scroll in the library (E).
- Select 2 letters to swap positions and spell AD VITAM (F).
- Take the TELESCOPE HANDLE from behind the panel.
- Walk down 3 times, go forward twice in the direction of the square then enter the forge.
- Look at the wall grate and take the METAL WEDGE (G).
- You can place the 2 METAL DECORATIONS in the grate (H).
- You will need to find another.
- Pour the BUCKET OF WATER into the tray (I).
- Walk down, then go forward twice.
- Use the BUCKET on the water to get the BUCKET WITH WATER (J).
- Place the METAL WEDGE in the log (K).
- Use the HAMMER on the wedge (L).
- Take the 2nd bell GEAR (M).
- Walk down 4 times, go forward twice in the town hall direction, go left, then enter the right door.
- Place the LENS on the end of the telescope (N).
- Place the TELESCOPE HANDLE at the center of the telescope (O).
- Look through the telescope to see the coat of arms (P).
- Walk down 4 times, then go forward to the square.
- Select the far wagon for a HOS.
- Locate all the items on the list.
- Place the arrow in the quiver for the quiver with arrows (Q).
- Use the needle on the sampler to make the butterfly (R).
- Open the coin purse to find the coin (S).
- Take the part of heraldry METAL GRYPHON (T).
- Walk forward 4 times and look at the crest on the carriage for a mini-game.
- Place the METAL GRYPHON on the left side of the crest (U).
- Place the METAL GOAT on the right side of the crest (V).
- Change the 4 elements of the shield (W) to match the crest on the flag (X).
- Look inside the carriage and take the OLIVES (A).
- Open the compartment and take the CURTAIN HANDLE (B).
- Walk down 3 times and enter the brewery on the right.
- Use the OLIVES on the press (C).
- Take the OLIVE OIL (D).
- Walk down, then enter the forge on the left.
- Use the OLIVE OIL on the hinges (E).
- Take the CROW BAR (F).
- Walk down 3 times, then go forward to the town hall entrance.
- Use the CROWBAR on the brick then take the 3rd METAL DECORATION (G).
- Walk forward twice.
- Look at the curtain and place the CURTAIN HANDLE on the right control for a mini-game (H).
- The curtain will partially open, showing a hole in the painting.
- Select one of the 5 painting scraps at the bottom to repair the hole (I).
- Only one piece will work; if you select the wrong piece they will all scramble.
- Choosing the correct piece will open the curtain a bit farther to show another hole.
- Our solution (J) use the rightmost piece in each section.
- Once you have replaced all 5 pieces, take the METAL MEDALLION (K).
- Walk down 3 times, heading in the square's direction go forward twice then enter the forge on the left.
- Look at the wall grate and place the 3rd METAL DECORATION in the grate (L).
- Take the LETTER S (M).
- Walk down, then go forward 3 times.
- Use the CROWBAR on the rock blocking the wheel (N).
- Walk forward.
- Take a chunk of CLAY (O).
- Look at the hutch; move aside the clamps and take the PICK (P).
- Walk down 6 times, in the direction of the town hall go forward twice; walk left, enter the left door then walk to the right.
- Use the PICK on the 3 bricked over areas (Q).
- Take the 3rd bell GEAR (R), the DECORATIVE PLATES (S), and the RAM HORNS (T).
- Walk down twice, then take the right door to the bell tower.
- Look at the bell mechanism and place the 3 bell GEARS into the machinery (U).
- Take the BARREL ORGAN HANDLE once it falls to the floor (V).
- Walk down 4 times then go forward to the square. Walk forward again and enter the brewery on the right.
- Select the storeroom for a HOS.
- Place the items from the inventory with corresponding items.
- Once you use the nails on the wood, you can use the hammer on the nails (W).
- You will earn the 1st WOODEN FLOWER.
- Look at the barrel organ and place the BARREL ORGAN HANDLE on the knob (X).
- This will trigger a mini-game.
- Move the rollers (A) so the notes they play match the music (B) below.
- Turn the handle (C) to see what notes each roller is playing.
- Select 2 rollers to swap positions.
- Take the STATUETTE (D).
- Walk down, go forward and look at the potter's door for a mini-game.
- Place the STATUETTE on the shelf to trigger the mini-game.

- Walk down, go forward and enter the potter's cottage.
- Select the kiln for a mini-game.
- Place the POT on the shelf (E) and the PAINT with the other colors (F).
- Complete the patterns on the jugs; 5 different colors on each column and row.
- Take the brush (G) and use it on a color of paint, then on the stripes on the jugs.
- Take the STATUE HEAD when the kiln spins around.
- Walk down 4 times, go forward to the town hall and go inside.
- Look at the left statue and place the STATUE HAND on the arm (H).
- Place the STATUE HEAD on the neck (I) and the METAL MEDALLION on the neck (J).
- Take the PART OF TABLET from the niche (K).
- Walk left, then enter the left door.
- Look at the tablet on the floor and place the PART OF TABLET in the open spot for a mini-game (L).
- Place the blocks in the correct place to restore the phrase on the tablet (M).
- Select two blocks to swap position.
- Take the CLAY TABLET.
- Walk down, then enter the right door to the bell tower.
- Place the CLAY TABLET into the frame (N).
- Take the TRIANGULAR KEY (O).
- Walk down 4 times, go forward twice in the direction of the square, then enter the forge.

- Use the white magician checker to 'jump' all the monster checkers and remove them from the board.

- Move to the spaces in numerical order (1-15).
- Take the 2nd WOODEN FLOWER (Q).
- Walk down then enter the greenhouse on the right.
