General Tips
- This is the official guide for Grim Legends: Song of the Dark Swan.
- This guide will not mention each time you have to zoom into a location; the screenshots will show each zoom scene.
- Hidden-object puzzles are referred to as HOPs. This guide will not show screenshots of the HOPs, but it will mention when a HOP is available and the inventory item you'll collect from it.
- This guide will give step-by-step solutions for all puzzles that are not random. Please read the instructions in the game for each puzzle.
Chapter 1: The Abduction
- Take the TRAVEL BAG (A).
- Put the TRAVEL BAG on the table and play the HOP to receive a MAGNIFYING GLASS (B).
- Open the chest, move the items and take the GOBLET (C).
- Talk to the Peacock Lady (D).
- Walk forward.
- Talk to the Peacock Lady (E).
- Take the EMPTY PITCHER (F).
- Use the MAGNIFYING GLASS (G).
- Walk down.
- Use the EMPTY PITCHER to get a PITCHER OF WATER (H).
- Put the PITCHER OF WATER on the table for a mini-game (I).
- Solution: light the match (1) in the candle (2) and light the burner (4). Put the green liquid (6) in beaker 5. Pour from beaker 5 to beaker 3. Pour beaker 5 into the cauldron.
- Fill beaker 3 with water (7). Pour 3 to 5. Fill 3, 3 to 5. Empty 5, 3 to 5. Fill 3, 3 to 5. Add herbs (8) to beaker 5. Pour 5 into cauldron and take the CALMING BREW with the GOBLET.
- Go forward and try to go right.
- Give the CALMING BREW to the Peacock Lady (J).
- Take the AXE MEDALLION (K).
- Place the AXE MEDALLION and take the HATCHET (L).
- Use the HATCHET three times (M).
- Go right.
- Inspect the Queen (N); take the EYE MEDALLION (O).
- Remove the mushrooms and take the note (P).
- Take the EXTINGUISHED TORCH (Q).
- Take the HOOK (R).
- Walk down.
- Give the EYE MEDALLION to the King.
- Take the KING'S FLOWER (S) and SUN STONE (T).
- Move the cushion (U).
- Open the book and take PUZZLE PART 1/5 (V).
- Light the EXTINGUISHED TORCH to get a LIT TORCH (W).
- Go right.
- Place the SUN STONE for a mini-game (X).
- Use the LIT TORCH and go forward (Y).
- Repair the nest with the twigs (Z) and put the chick in the nest (A); the Swallow will join you.
- Have the Swallow retrieve the RIBBON (B).
- Go forward.
- Take the WOODEN CASTLE (C).
- Move the vines.
- Move the rocks (D).
- Show the Queen the KING'S FLOWER; take the QUEEN'S GEM (E).
- Go to the Queen's Chamber.
- Use the QUEEN'S GEM (F) for a mini-game (G).
- Take the NETTLE SHIRTS, note and KNIFE (H).
- Walk down.
- Use the RIBBON and take the RIGHT WING; tear the wallpaper (I).
- Place the WOODEN CASTLE in the door for a mini-game (J).
- Walk forward.
- Take the CHEST EMBLEM (K).
- Use the HOOK (L).
- Take the SHIELD EMBLEM (M).
- Pull the rope, ring the bell, and take the BOX PART (N).
- Walk down twice.
- Move the items and place the CHEST EMBLEM (O); take the LEFT WING (P).
- Place the SHIELD EMBLEM (Q).
- Play the HOP to receive a STONE DIADEM (R).
- Go forward twice.
- Place the LEFT WING and RIGHT WING for a mini-game (S).
- Solution: 3-6-9-8-5-4-1-2-3-6-9-8-5-7-4-1-2-3-5-7-4.
Chapter 2: The Fall
- Place the STONE DIADEM (T).
- Play the HOP to receive the WATER NECKLACE (U).
- Go left.
- Talk to the King.
- Take the EYE (V).
- Place the BOX PART for a mini-game (W).
- Solution: push each button three times.
- Open the box and take PUZZLE PART 2/5 (X).
- Walk down and forward.
- Move the flowers and take PUZZLE PART 3/5 (Y).
- Have the Swallow retrieve the RAG (Z).
- Open the lock and place the EYE (A).
- Go right.
- Take some SUGAR CANE (B).
- Take the OARS (C).
- Play the HOP to receive the STEVIA LEAVES (D).
- Place the SUGAR CANE, turn the WHEEL and take the MOLASSES and CINNAMON (E).
- On the table (F), put the STEVIA LEAVES and CINNAMON in the mortar (1). Use the pestle (2) and take the GROUND SPICES. Put the pan (3) on the fire (4), add the MOLASSES and GROUND SPICES. Strike the match (5) to light the burner (6). Pour the mixture into the mold (7) and take the CARAMEL CANDIES.
- Walk down twice and go right.
- Have the Swallow retrieve the paper (G).
- Take PUZZLE PART 4/5 (H).
- Check the man, take the GOLDEN FEATHER (I), use the KNIFE (J) and take the GEM (K).
- Walk down.
- Place the WATER NECKLACE and GEM (L).
- Take the SMALL POT (M).
- Go right.
- Use the SMALL POT to get a POT OF RESIN (N).
- Go down and left.
- Talk to the King (O).
- Place the GOLDEN FEATHER; take PUZZLE PART 5/5 (P).
- Go down and right.
- Place the PUZZLE PARTS on the bench for a mini-game (Q).
- The solution is random.
- Open the compartment, open the bag and take the BOAT KEY (R).
- Go to the Shed.
- Put the POT OF RESIN on the burner; take the HOT RESIN (S).
- Walk down.
- Put the CARAMEL CANDIES in the bowl (T).
- Place the OARS, RAG and HOT RESIN (U).
- Use the BOAT KEY (V).
- Go forward.
Chapter 3: The Survivor
- Move the weeds and boards three times (W).
- Take the OAR (X).
- Use the OAR (Y); take the GOLDEN FEATHER and INNER SWAN AMULET (Z).
- Walk forward.
- Place the GOLDEN FEATHER; take the TEAL CRYSTAL (A).
- Take the CLAM SHELL (B).
- Walk down.
- Cut the line with the CLAM SHELL for a mini-game (C).
- Take the NET and the Otter.
- Walk forward.
- Have the Otter retrieve the log and go forward (D).
- Take the BLUE CRYSTAL (E).
- Take the ORANGE CRYSTAL (F).
- Place the TEAL CRYSTAL, ORANGE CRYSTAL and BLUE CRYSTAL; select 3-2-1-3 (G).
- Go forward.
- Place the NET and take the LANDING NET and BRUSH (H).
- Play the HOP to receive the OUTER SWAN AMULET (I).
- Remove the vines and place the OUTER SWAN AMULET and INNER SWAN AMULET (J); take the LITTLE KEY and read the book (K).
- Take the TINDER FUNGUS (L).
- Walk down.
- Use the LITTLE KEY (M).
- Clean the board with the BRUSH for a mini-game (N).
- Go left.
- Use the LANDING NET and take the SAW BLADE (O).
- Take the TIN CUP (P).
- Remove the rubble; place the SAW BLADE and take the WOOD SAW (Q).
- Walk down.
- Use the WOOD SAW and take the STURDY BRANCH (R).
- Go left.
- Place the STURDY BRANCH and take the PICKAXE (S).
- Use the PICKAXE twice (T).
- Go forward.
Chapter 4: The Betrayal
- Talk to the man; take the DRAGON STATUE and GOLDEN FEATHER (U).
- Take the CANDLE WAX (V).
- Remove the cabinet door (W).
- Send the Otter to scare the rat; take the TRUFFLES (X).
- Take the TWINE (Y).
- Take the STEEL, open the doors and go forward (Z).
- Give the TRUFFLES to the boar (A).
- Go left.
- Play the HOP to receive a WOLF STATUE (B).
- Take the TWIGS (C).
- Use the Otter (D); take the EAGLE STATUE HALF (E).
- Go to the Cavern.
- Play the HOP to receive the PEARLS (F).
- Place the GOLDEN FEATHER; take the DEER STATUE (G).
- Go forward.
- Remove the cobwebs and place the PEARLS for a mini-game (H).
- Turn the handle; take the BEAR STATUE (I).
- Go to the Island Grove.
- Put the EAGLE STATUE HALF in the sap to get a STICKY EAGLE STATUE HALF (J).
- Go to the Bridge.
- Move the vines (K).
- Place the DEER STATUE, BEAR STATUE, DRAGON STATUE, WOLF STATUE and STICKY EAGLE STATUE HALF for a mini-game (L).
- Solution: 1-2-3-4-5-1.
- Go left.
- Place the TINDER FUNGUS and TWIGS; use the STEEL on the stone (M). Place the CUP, CANDLE WAX and TWINE and take the CANDLE (N). Light the CANDLE in the flame (O), put the LIT CANDLE in the lantern and take the LAMP (P).
- Use the LAMP.
- Go forward.
- Play the HOP to receive the DOOR HANDLE (Q).
- Take the WET BANDAGE (R).
- Take STONE KEY 1/2 (S).
- Remove the lock pieces; place the DOOR HANDLE and turn it (T).
- Go left.
- Inspect the man (U).
- Move the items until you can take the FRYING PAN (V) and BLUNT SCISSORS (W).
- Place the FRYING PAN and WET BANDAGE; take the BANDAGE (X).
- Take the SPONGE (Y).
- Walk down.
- Use the SPONGE to get a WET SPONGE (Z).
- Take the WORK GLOVES (A), pull the handle and use the BLUNT SCISSORS to receive SHARP SCISSORS (B).
- Play the HOP to receive the HEALING HERBS (C).
- Go left.
- Place the HEALING HERBS and use the pestle; take the CRUSHED HERBS (D).
- Use the SHARP SCISSORS, remove the sleeve and use the WET SPONGE (E), place the CRUSHED HERBS (F) and BANDAGE and take the STUDY KEY (G).
- Place the STUDY KEY and turn it for a mini-game (H).
- Solution: 3-3-3-2-3-3.
- Go left.
- Take the baby (I) and BEAR TOOTH (J).
- Play the HOP to receive the BAIT (K).
- Place the BEAR TOOTH and take STONE KEY 2/2 (L).
- Walk down.
Chapter 5: The Chase
- Take the GOLDEN FEATHER (M).
- Walk down.
- Place the BAIT and get the Otter to retrieve the RED HERRING (N).
- Place the STONE KEYS for a mini-game (O).
- Open the book (P) and take the DARK SWAN TOKEN (Q).
- Go left.
- Place the RED HERRING; take the FRIED FISH (R).
- Walk down twice.
- Give the FRIED FISH to the troll (S).
- Play the HOP to receive a ROPE (T).
- Go left.
- Place the ROPE and take the IMPROVISED BRIDGE (U).
- Walk down.
- Place the IMPROVISED BRIDGE (V).
- Go forward.
- Use the WORK GLOVES for a mini-game (X).
- Solution: use the yellow-numbered items in the green-numbered slots (Y).
- Take the note and BELLOWS HANDLE (Z).
- Place the GOLDEN FEATHER; take the PEACOCK TOKEN (A).
- Go to the Forest Hut Study.
- Place the DARK SWAN TOKEN and PEACOCK TOKEN (B), open the cabinet and take the BELLOWS VIAL (C).
- Play the HOP to receive the BELLOWS PIPE (D).
- Walk down.
- Place the BELLOWS HANDLE, BELLOWS VIAL and BELLOWS PIPE; take the EMPTY BELLOWS (E).
- Go to the Forest.
- Use the EMPTY BELLOWS to get the ONE-QUARTER-FULL BELLOWS (F).
- Walk down twice.
- Use the ONE-QUARTER-FULL BELLOWS to get the HALF-FULL BELLOWS (G).
- Walk down.
- Use the HALF-FULL BELLOWS to get the THREE-QUARTERS-FULL BELLOWS (H).
- Walk down twice.
- Use the THREE-QUARTERS-FULL BELLOWS to get the FULL BELLOWS (I).
- Walk forward.
- Use the FULL BELLOWS (J); take the FAIRY DUST (K).
- Use the FAIRY DUST and take the SWAN RELIEF (L); you're joined by the Spirit.
- Go to the Basement.
- Place the SWAN RELIEF for a mini-game (M).
- Take the DARK CASTLE KEY and the NETTLE SHIRT (N).
- Go to the Forest.
- Use the Spirit (O).
- Go forward.
- Play the HOP to receive the GATE LOCK (P).
- Place the GATE LOCK and DARK CASTLE KEY for a mini-game (Q).
- Puzzle solution (R).
- Go forward.
Chapter 6: The Rescue
- Take the WRENCH (S).
- Take GOBLET 1/3 (T).
- Use the Spirit (U).
- Go forward.
- Take GOBLET 2/3 (V).
- Take the FOUNTAIN CRYSTAL (W).
- Take the TONGS (X).
- Walk down.
- Place the FOUNTAIN CRYSTAL (Y).
- Use the WRENCH (Z); take the HOT SWAN with the TONGS (A).
- Go forward.
- Dip the HOT SWAN in the barrel to get a WHITE SWAN (B).
- Place the WHITE SWAN for a mini-game (C).
- Take the DIADEM and GOBLET 3/3 (D).
- Dip the GOBLETS in the barrel to get FULL GOBLETS (E).
- Place the FULL GOBLETS for a mini-game (F).
- Solution: (1, 4, 3, 2)-(3, 1, 2, 4)-(2, 4, 3, 1).
- Go forward.
- Move the branches and place a NETTLE SHIRT (G); take the GOLDEN FEATHER and ELEVATOR LEVER (H).
- Place the ELEVATOR LEVER and move it (I).
- Play the HOP to receive the ELEVATOR PARTS (J).
- Place the ELEVATOR PARTS for a mini-game.
- Solution (K).

- Go right.
- Take the CANDELABRUM (M).
- Move the rungs and take the CLOTH and COG (N).
- Take the CROSSBOW STRING (O).
- Walk down twice.
- Place the CLOTH and take the SHARD (P).
- Walk down.
- Place the CANDELABRUM; take the ACORNS (Q).
- Place the COG and push it; take the NAILS (R).
- Go forward.
- Plant the ACORNS and use the Spirit; go forward (S).
- Take the WINDLASS (T).
- Go to the Observatory.
- Place the NAILS and take the LADDER (U).
- Go back to the Forest.
- Place the LADDER; take the CROSSBOW BOLT (V).
- Walk forward twice.
- Place the CROSSBOW STRING, and WINDLASS; tighten the string, place the CROSSBOW BOLT and take the CROSSBOW (W).
- Go to the Observatory.
- Shoot the CROSSBOW (X).
- Cut the SPIDER SILK with the SHARD, place a NETTLE SHIRT and take the DUNGEON MAP (Y) and GOLD FEATHER (Z).
Chapter 7: The Reunion
- Walk down twice and go left.
- Use the DUNGEON MAP (A).
- Go left (1), left (2), right (3), right (4), right (5) and forward (6).
- Take the SHACKLES (B).
- Take the ROUND STONE; place the SPIDER SILK, turn it into rope and attach the SHACKLES; take the SPIDER SILK ROPE (C).
- Throw the SPIDER SILK ROPE on the tower and pull it twice (D).
- Play the HOP to receive the GARGOYLE RUNES (E).
- Place the GARGOYLE RUNES for a mini-game (F).
- Take the KNIGHT'S CREST.
- Walk down three times.
- Place the KNIGHT'S CREST; take the SPEAR (G).
- Go to the Dungeon.
- Use the SPEAR (H).
- Move the keys and place the ROUND STONE; take the SLINGSHOT (I).
- Shoot the SLINGSHOT (J).
- Play the HOP to receive the KEY RING (K).
- Use the KEY RING and place a NETTLE SHIRT; take the GOLDEN FEATHER (L).
- Go to the Observatory.
- Place the three GOLDEN FEATHERS; take the DARK MAGIC KEY (M).
- Use the DARK MAGIC KEY and open the chest (N).
- Open the drawers and take MISSING INGREDIENTS SKETCH, CRUCIBLE and SYRINGE (O).
- Walk down.
- Play the HOP to receive the GREY MUSHROOMS (P).
- Walk down.
- Give the MISSING INGREDIENTS SKETCH and take the SEEDS (Q).
- Go forward.
- Plant the SEEDS and use the Spirit; take the AIR FLOWERS (R).
- Walk down.
- Take the STAR ANISE (S).
- Walk down.
- Take some LAVA with the CRUCIBLE (T).
- Walk down.
- Take some MAGIC JUICE with the SYRINGE (U).
- Play the HOP to receive the MAGIC HERB (V).
- Go to the Observatory.
- Place the MAGIC HERB, AIR FLOWERS, STAR ANISE, MAGIC JUICE, LAVA and GREY MUSHROOMS for a mini-game (W).
- Add the ingredients in the indicated order.
- Take the ANTI-MAGIC ELIXIR (X).
- Walk down twice.
- Use the ANTI-MAGIC ELIXIR and NETTLE SHIRT (Y).
- Take the PEACOCK FEATHER (Z).
- Go right.
- Play the mini-game (A).
- Go forward.
Chapter 8: The Execution
- Talk to the King (B).
- Take the PLUSH EAGLE (C).
- Go forward.
- Take the SPINDLE (D).
- Walk down.
- Use the SPINDLE and open the door (E); you receive the Swallow.
- Go forward.
- Get the Swallow to retrieve the PEACOCK FEATHER (F).
- Walk down.
- Remove the map and place the PEACOCK FEATHERS (G).
- Go right.
- Play the HOP to receive the GOLDEN SCISSORS (H).
- Use the GOLDEN SCISSORS (I); take WOODEN RELIEF 1/2 (J).
- Play the mini-game (K).
- Solution: align the red orbs, remove the blue orbs and extinguish the blue candles.
- Give the PLUSH EAGLE to the baby (L); take the baby and WOODEN RELIEF 2/2 (M).
- Place the WOODEN RELIEFS for a mini-game (N).
- Take the AMULET OF EVIL MANIFEST (13).
- Play the HOP to receive the SLEEPY SHROOMS (O).
- Walk down.
- Use the SLEEPY SHROOMS (P).
- Go forward.
- Use the AMULET OF EVIL MANIFEST (Q).
- Give the baby to the couple; put the DIADEM on the baby (R).
- Congratulations, you've completed Grim Legends: Song of the Dark Swan.
