General Tips & Information
- Gameplay Modes – There are two modes of gameplay.
- Relaxed Mode – This mode allows you to take your time. You will earn the Gold medal upon completion of the goals for each level.
- Timed Mode – For more of a challenge, play the timed mode. You will earn the Gold medal upon completion of the goals in a level when the timer is in the green zone, and the Silver medal when the time is in the yellow or red zone. If you run out of time, you will need to replay the level. (Note – To unlock the bonus levels, you must have earned Gold medals for all levels in the episode set.)
- Map – Completed levels will show the color badge earned for that level. You can play any level at any time. By clicking on the chapter tabs on the right, you can replay any part of the story.
- Bonus Levels – All bonus levels are untimed.
Game Menu Tabs & Status Bar
- Goals – The green tab shows the current and possible rental incomes, along with the level goals. They are checked off as they are completed. Sometimes goals are added later in the level, so check this tab often.
- Spells – The orange tab is where you train dwarfs and cast spells. The Speed–up spell makes the dwarfs work faster. The Euphoria spell gives you a wand to zap monsters. The Ghosts spell sends ghosts to unowned properties to force the owner to sell.
- Materials – The yellow tab is where you purchase units of material needed for construction.
- Status Bar – The status bar at the top of the screen displays current cash, materials, and dwarfs.
Empty Plots Menu
- Clicking on an empty plot that you own brings up a menu that gives you the choice of going to the "Houses" menu or the "Buildings" menu.
- The "Houses" menu shows all the houses you can currently build in color. Moving your cursor over a button will show you the resources needed to build. Some houses will be locked until later in the game.

House Menu
- Clicking on a house you own will bring up a menu that gives you the option of selling, upgrading, or demolishing. Later in the game, you will also have the option of strengthening, if you have built the workshop, or charming, if you have built the school.
- Houses that are broken need to either be repaired or demolished.
- Houses that are cursed need to be exorcised or demolished.
- Building / Upgrading Houses – This table notes all the different houses with rents, values, and building requirements for each upgrade. Please note that the fourth level upgrade is only available if you have built an architect building and purchased a building permit.
- Buildings – Many levels will require different buildings to accomplish the level’s goals. Some buildings are very useful, even if not required.
- Mill – If the people are hungry, build a mill to help with the food shortage. It requires 3 dwarfs and 350 materials.
- Workshop – Building the workshop allows you to save money on hiring dwarfs and repair costs. Plus, it lets you strengthen your houses to help keep them from breaking down. It requires 4 dwarfs and 300 materials.
- Lighthouse – The lighthouse spooks any nearby spirits with its light. It requires 4 dwarfs and 500 materials.
- Warehouse – Buying construction materials from a warehouse saves you money and reduces the time need for construction. It requires 4 dwarfs and 500 materials.
- Library – A library benefits the advancement of science and technology. It requires 6 dwarfs and 750 materials.
- School – A school reduces the cost of exorcisms and allows you to protect your houses from evil spells with the Charm spell. It requires 5 dwarfs and 750 materials.
- Market – The market provides a place to bargain hunt. It requires 7 dwarfs and 1000 materials.
- Architect – An architect provides the ability to upgrade houses 4 times. The purchase of a permit is required. It requires 5 dwarfs and 900 materials.
- Tavern – Mountain travelers are often in need of a drink. This building requires 9 dwarfs and 1500 materials.
- Treasury – The treasury collects rent from your houses on magical properties. Make sure to click on the coins when they appear. It requires 5 dwarfs and 1200 materials.
- Florist – The florist gathers flowers and various potion components. Break the wizard’s spell with this building. It requires 9 dwarfs and 2000 materials.
- Castle – Can you imagine a kingdom without a castle? It requires 9 dwarfs and 2000 materials.
