A vacation in Greece with your best friend Christine, it just doesn't get any better than this! After a quick tour, the two of you decide to meander through the Sanctuary of Apollo, the site of the ancient Oracle in Delphi. In no time at all, Christine's curiosity gets the best of her when she discovers a hidden cache within the ruins. After a brief lapse of judgement, the dynamic duo discover what appears to be a board game, but this is no ordinary game, this is A Dangerous Game! (:don't roll those dice,Christine, please don't roll those dice, too late, zap!:)
I know that a lot of people don't care for this series, but I really love the story lines they come up with. (;and this one would make Robin Williams proud;) For the most part, they are pretty original, and they choose locations that are real, which is a unique concept, and many of these locations are surrounded with conspiracy theories. A Domini Games Collector's Edition never skimps on the bling either. There are collectible Notes from previous pawns of the game, hidden Artifacts, and lost Deck Cards that give you insight on the characters you meet throughout this wicked game of survival. There are also Gold Nuggets to discover, and can be used to purchase virtual items for a virtual room. There are icons on the inventory bar that light up when one of the collectibles are nearby, and you can click to enable alerts on the interactive map as well.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied, the scenes are clear and bright, and are located in interesting locations. There are Interactive List finds, Silhouetted Shape finds, and Multiple finds, as well as several smaller Zoom Zone HOP's available. You can opt to play a Match 3 game instead of the HOP's.
The Mini Games are in abundance, and most are available with an Easy or Hard difficulty mode, which is an awesome feature in my opinion, because you can choose the mode you want on each individual game. There is an option on the Custom Settings page to select either Easy or Hard game modes, but I'm not sure how this works. I didn't select either one, and I was given this option on each game, so I'm wondering if you choose either Easy or Hard on the custom setting page, if you then don't get to choose the mode on each game? Here are some brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Use directional arrows to align the blue tokens so they match the pattern shown.
2) Swap puzzle strips to recreate the image.
3) Light up all points of light from beginning to end without using the same line twice.
4) Choose 3 icons that relate to each character.
5) Use directional arrows to allow each color coded head to drop to its matching colored body at the bottom.
6) Choose the color and then select the puzzle sections to color that must be adjacent to one another. Then click on the sections that need the color removed to match the sample shown.
7) Scan the area to reveal symbols and select the correct symbols in the order shown.
8) Repeat the sequence of flashing eyes by choosing the leaves corresponding to the statue's eyes.
9) Use directional arrows to move the token to the end, if a token passes over a colored cell, the token will teleport to that colors space.

Sometimes a vacation turns out to be a bit more than you expected and this one ends up being a three-in-one package. You are on vacation with your best friend when what seems to be a rather boring and uneventful trip suddenly changes into one that might just be the last vacation you ever have. While exploring Delphi your friend Christine sees a stone that appears to have something shining behind it. Of course curiosity gets the better of both of you and that is when the excitement begins. I love the Labyrinths of the World series and, IMHO, this might be the best game of the series to-date. The storyline is excellent and creative with beautiful graphics that bring the three worlds to life. Loving fairy tale type games this game has it all for me with elves, dragons, and trolls.
Over the years I have played probably 900 HOPA games and it has become very apparent in the past few years that BFG has set out the basics that each developer should follow such as how many puzzles or HOPS there will be in each game. How many “hot spots” in each scene, what variety there should be in the HOPS, and approximately how many scenes there should be in each game. That format is why so many gamers refer to the HOPA games as being cookie-cutter. When you get right down to it, almost all HOPA games and even TM games are very much cookie-cutter games. That being said, Domini is a developer who makes their HOPS fun and their mini-games a bit more challenging. The graphics in their games are saturated with intense color and their storylines are for the most part quite excellent. This Labyrinths game, A Dangerous Game, is one of the most interesting and different storylines that I have seen in quite some time. This game shows that it is possible to have a very fun and interesting game where there is no vile, dark, evil entity lurking at every turn trying to steal my soul. It is refreshing to see a game that has such a different story that gives me the feeling that I am in a Tolkein novel as I play the game. Congrats to Domini for creating a fabulous game with elves, dragons, and trolls - especially the dragons since I love and collect them.
The HOPS are what we would expect but they are done well with a lot of creativity. Many items in the scenes require some interaction with other items that are sometimes not in plain sight and once found they are used within the scene. The puzzles are excellent and although most are familiar, I did come across one at least that I don’t remember playing in quite some time. I believe that Domini is the first developer who started offering a choice of easy or hard when it comes to solving the puzzles and even though I have played numerous puzzles in HOPA games, I found that I did need to select the easy mode when I tried to solve two of them in the demo for this game.
Labyrinths of the World: A Dangerous Game CE has lots of extras to find including Collectible Cards, Artifacts and Gold Nuggets. Yes there are lots of Achievements to earn if that is your thing. I think that this developer is one of the first that also offered a replay of HOPS and Puzzles in their games and we can do that in the CE version of the game as well. Then there is the usual fluff that is found in all CE games such as Wallpapers, Concept Art, Music, and Videos
There is also a Personal Room that we can furnish using those Gold Nuggets that we find throughout the games. All CE games also include a Strategy Guide Bonus Chapter.
A Dangerous Game is the seventh game in the Labyrinths of the World series and it is an excellent way to start off 2018. Hopefully, we will see more games like this one and far fewer of the ones with evil demons hoping to take over some unsuspecting person who will become the vehicle for world dominion or some other such purpose. Domini nailed this storyline and created an awesome game that will be one of my all-time favorite games. Even though I love this game and highly recommend it, please try the demo to see if you will enjoy it as well. Happy Gaming! Show less

i just love this one ... the mini games and HOs are pretty typical, but the storyline, characters and gameplay is excellent ... i would have liked more music throughout, however ... one of the best i've played in a while ... even though i had to play it on the MAC side as Domini games just don't work on my windows 10 ... regardless ... BRAVO!

A boy in a bed, a man sitting at his side, a gameboard on the cover. The boy seems scared, but the man is calming him: “Everthing will be ok, we’ll be just fine’, then throws the dice and everything vanishes In blue smoke…..
We are in Delphi on a vacation with our adventurous friend Christine. Under a stone plate we find a board game. On opening the cover Christine – the game just takes her in. Where is she now? Inside a board game? We must find out and go after her. In the next step we are prepared for the game: It is the game of three worlds. The one of Elves, the one of Dragons and the third one, is that of the Trolls. To come out of the game you must pass all 3 stages. So your first halt is in the Elves’ world. There you meet the Shaman of these creatures. He tells you more about the game: Behind it is a man named Charles. He invented it and everybody in it, so all are pawns and it is designed, that nobody entering, can win. If somebody makes too much progress, Charles will interfere and sabotage the players. But you will find allies on your way and together you may stand a chance.
There is no helper in this adventure. We have many interesting puzzles with the well-known easy/hard option, a few HO scenes, varied in type with the option to play Match-3. Story is a nice variant of a board game in which you are a figurine, designed to stick in it forever. So your wits shall make the difference. Artwork is great, music ok and we have lots of collectables.

But it was engaging, nevertheless. I felt bad for the villain and felt worse for the reasons behind his actions. The graphics were beautiful and colorful. The voiceovers were very well done. The characters were wonderful (especially the dragons!). I really didn't want the story to end! Luckily, it was a fairly long game that continued brilliantly with the bonus game at the end. Definitely worth the price of a CE. The HOPs were challenging, but not impossible. The puzzles were a mixed bag. Some were hard, some were VERY easy. I have to admit that I did skip one of them, as I didn't understand what I was suppose to do and the guide didn't help. Overall, a fun game with lots to do, lots of action and re-playability. I highly recommend it. Show less

REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE MAIN GAME – Time: 4 Hours
5 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 57 Pages
What would you do for the one you love, your friend, or even a family member? Roll the dice and venture headlong into a game in which you must escape or forfeit your life. After your friend, Christine, is absorbed within a game, your quest to rescue her finds you captured as well. Time is of an essence in this game as a madman, Charles, has trapped you within it. You must win at all costs or you and your friend will be find that this game will be your last! This is a fast-paced adventure game with plenty of activities to keep you entertained. The developer delivers a wondrous philosophical adventure well worth the price. As the scouts always state, “Be Prepared!” This game is a long trek into the fields of imagination! Job well-done Domini!
JUMANJI MEETS LORD OF THE RINGS! To me, this game is a trek through the colorful jungles of Jumanji with characters from “Lord of the Rings” including elven folk, dwarves, trolls, and dragons. All these creatures live in this game - the Game of the Three Worlds. There is even a ring to be found “my pretty” within this game. The graphics are phenomenal. Although this is a dark-themed game, the scenes are filled with lush colors throughout. I do think the game is a good one for teens, those who love adventure games, puzzle lovers, and even those who love fairy tale games.
FLOATING CHARACTERS: Like ships passing in the night, within this game, you will meet a host of characters which just disappear! I would love to know what happened to some of those characters. You meet Leanne, a fellow gamer, but she stays with you for two scenes and POOF! She disappears! Please don’t introduce characters and leave them stranded within the pages (and jungles) of this game!
BONUS CHAPTER: I did not complete the bonus chapter. I plan to finish it up in the next couple days. It is a logical and good sequel to this game. Enter the Elven kingdom and try to help restore order to the Three Kingdoms. From what I have played, the puzzles and HOP scenes are consistent in excellence with the main game.
MECHANICS: This game provides three collectibles. There are fourteen (14) cards of the characters from the game, twelve (12) artifacts, and sixty-three (63) gold nuggets. There are three indicators on the inventory bar which shine brightly if one of these is to be found within a scene. To me, this is a nice touch! I found the collectibles easy to locate. There are many achievements (32) within the game. You can also replay eighteen (18) HOP scenes and twenty (20 puzzles) as well. You can also select the difficulty of the puzzles within the game menu; however, if you do change your mind, you can change the difficulty for puzzle when you play it. It is truly these small details which make Domini the developer to beat!
HOP SCENES: Domini has a couple of new concepts for HOP scenes within this game. There are fifteen (15) HOP scenes (including mini-HOP scenes) in the main game. The others for replay are in the bonus section. They include the normal list of items, silhouette, and storybook scenes. I found the scenes in this game to be more interactive than in some of their past games. Although there are no puzzles within the HOP scenes, you are required to search for items in which to interact with the scenes.
NEW HOP CONCEPT: Within this game is a new HOP scene I have not seen in other games. It requires to player to search for an item, use the item to interact with the scene, and then find the silhouette matching the final action to remove the silhouette.
PUZZLES: As usual, Domini has more puzzles than HOP scenes within their games. This is a puzzle-lover’s dream! There are thirty-one (31) puzzles in the main game. Most are exquisite and well-designed. There are others in the bonus chapter as well. I do wish Domini would provide more of their puzzles to replay; although I do like the selection they have provided. There are so many unique puzzles within the game, I could only comment on the few I chose. There are some new elements in some of their puzzles. I found the instructions concise and easy to follow on even the most difficult ones. There is one puzzle I consider the BEST INNOVATIVE PUZZLE in some time: Here are samples of SOME of the puzzles AFTER THE DEMO:
A. Bulls-eye puzzle. A unique application of this puzzle. Using an arrow, pinpoint the direction you wish to bomb and destroy some elephant tusks (I think they are elephant tusks) then click on the green bar to detonate them. You have only four (4) chances to knock out all the tusks.
B. Switch puzzle. On a rope with six hanging segmented tubes, switch the segments of the tubes so that each tube has the appropriate segments which match by design.
C. Assembly puzzle. In a unique approach to this puzzle, restore an amulet by placing the pieces into their proper location. However, in this case, you must turn the amulet – NOT the pieces to match them up to the location.
D. Matching puzzle. Arrange runes on two sides of a stone tablet so that each rune matches up with the rune across from it on the tablet.
E. Moving marbles puzzle. Move four sets of colored marbles to their appropriate location on a circular grid. Use a rotating collector to collect and disperse the marbles to the right location
F. BEST NEW INNOVATIVE PUZZLE! Mathematical puzzle. Use three tokens which can be moved to numbers upon a clock. The number upon which it rests (1-12) will move one of the clock hands a certain amount of spaces. Colored tokens must be placed on the number next to the hand of the same color to move it. Your aim is to move the clock hands to match a given time. Such a neat puzzle. I am very impressed!
G. Sequence puzzle. An oldie but goodie. Remove iron bars in sequence from a grid. The bars are interlocked with each other.
H. Strategy puzzle. Use arrows to move up and down and sideways to collect seashells while avoiding fish in your path.
I. Final toughie. Mathematical puzzle. Angle beams of light so they connect with their matching colored beam. Not for the weak of heart! Moving the colored lights may also move others as well so they will not stay in place after you have centered them. Good luck!

I haven't reviewed many games, but this one comes as close to perfection as any game I've played in a long time. I can't remember the last time a game pulled me in and didn't let me stop. I love puzzles, and am thoroughly bored with standard HO's, so I was pleasantly surprised to be able to play decent puzzles on "hard" mode. (NOTE: Even on hard mode, these puzzles are only moderately tough. I found the puzzles in Medium Detective to be harder). The HO's also held my interest, since there were quite a variety of them, and they often contained puzzle elements.
The collectables were great, with cards that explained the characters you met and a room you could furnish by buying furniture with "gold nuggets" you would find along the way.
It was also quite good about letting you know if you had found all the collectables in an area, a feature that is on my "must have" list after playing so many where I would miss something, and not be able to get back to it. Show less
I recommend this game!
