part 2- a lot like the first, but still new to all solitaire and Christmas lovers a like. Card choice, relaxing Christmas music. Its getting cold out so why not spend a relaxing time with Jack

This is one of those rare instances when the developers actually listen to the players. Jack Frost 2 is a greatly improved version of Jack Frost. There are enough cards for almost every level. Still some improvement needed but 95% of the levels I felt the cards given were quite adequate.

Based on finishing newbie section.
I had stopped buying 8th floor games because they were getting to difficult and nothing new or interesting. I deleted one game after buying it because I had to constantly replay levels just to progress.
This one requires some replaying and some pass the first time, which is right for me.
There are many graphic choices and I love the cute ones I picked.

I recommend this game!

I am utterly confused by this game! I know it's a Monday, but after reading the Big Fish synopsis, I was prepared to play a Solitaire game of the Mahjong Style where you match pairs of the same numbered cards. At least that's how I interpreted this description:

After downloading this game, I created a profile and clicked on the Help section to read the game's instructions, which showed a picture of two cards (# 7) as if it were indeed a Match 2 type Solitaire. But as I read the instructions, they sounded as if it were the Higher/Lower type solitaire, as they talked about making chains regardless of suit, to fill up the multiplier Index Bar. Now I'm even more confused, so I begin to play, and sure enough it IS a Higher/Lower Solitaire game where you try to play cards on the board that are either one card higher or one card lower than the last card on the deck. So either BF has an incorrect description of the game, or I'm completely wrong in my perception of what it says about the game!

I gave this game only 3 Stars, not because of the above mentioned confusion, but because I really dislike the cookie cutter mechanics that this dev offers in ALL of their Solitaire games. The goal of each level is to remove all Special or Gold cards to win. Once you remove all special cards, the level is done, and you aren't given the option to continue playing to try to remove all of the cards on the board, and that drives me nutz! Another feature that drives me nutz, is when you remove a Bonus card (as indicated by a snowflake on the top right of the card) all game play comes to a screeching halt, the screen darkens and your prize is revealed, either 499 extra points, a joker, undo or shuffle feature. It only takes a second or two, but I hate the interruption!

Here are some features available in this game:

* There are 9 Winter Themed (not Christmas Themed)
card backs to choose from
* There are 3 different Face Card Fonts and styles to choose
from.
* Newbie Mode allows you to replay any level.
* Professional Mode only allows you to replay the
entire pack, of 10 levels.
* You only need to remove the Gold cards to win,
the maximum amount of points.
* You can purchase bonuses in the shop with the
coins you earn, a Shuffle feature, an Undo feature
and a Joker feature.
* Cards that have a Snowflake icon are bonus cards
that award you with either 499 coins, or one of the
above mentioned bonus features.

Hopefully I have cleared up the confusion about the type of Solitaire game this actually is, and I haven't just added more confusion. Personally, I'm not a fan of a Solitaire game that doesn't allow me to try to remove all of the cards on the board, not just some of the cards. Other devs have added the option to continue playing after removing all Gold cards, and I can't understand why they wouldn't give you that very simple feature option. Because of that, it's a no buy for me, but if that feature doesn't drive you nutz, this game could be right for you, enjoy! Show less

I buy these every year and I have for years.

The last two releases however, The Raven Solitaire and now this are way too easy. Way too many cards are given to complete a round. Its the same ole song and dance with the music and the sounds ect, the only difference is these are way too easy now.

I am highly disappointed. I have seen past reviews where people were complaining about these being too hard. That wasn't true, they were perfect. You use coins to help get through a level, if you need it. Its totally mindless now.

I will not be buying anymore 8Floor development games until they can raise the challenge. Why didn't you guys put in an easy or hard mode. Or better yet, NORMAL which is the way it was before and put an easy setting for those who dont know enough about Solitaire to play.
So disappointed. This will be the first time I DO NOT buy an 8 Floor game. Show less
