I MUST Have This Game! Review based on demo...

I had more fun playing this demo than I've had with any other game in years! Yes, I love dogs, so that helps, but all of it, the puzzles, hidden objects... all of it was great!

I had more fun playing this demo than I've had with any other game in years! Yes, I love dogs, so that helps, but all of it, the puzzles, hidden objects... all of it was great!

Who couldn't be moved to help the shivering wet little corgi (although they got the tail wrong, corgis have no tail at all, not the short tail Ash is given), who thanks us for rescue with a big lick? He is our helper, but he is not pushy and never yaps in the corner of the tool bar. I know one player who will go nuts for a corgi! :)

I love how 4 Friends sneaked in their logo, and how we, the player, comment on it! We see a discarded coffee cup, with the logo, we say, "I know this team! The squirrels from Living Legends truly stole my heart!" Great touch, makes a game something a little bit extra.

Our corgi friend has a comic book where he's a corgi super hero! The cover of the comic is seen in various places, and is downright adorable, while the story is revealed in the comic's pages! Squealing heard... Oh, and bunnies! Ash wants the last escaped bunny out of his fabulous kennel bed! More squealing...

Super interactive game, even outside the HOS. Click on the constellations in the first scene to see what I mean.

The meat of the game...

COLLECTIBLES: 64 eggs. Some easy to find, others not so easy. Some well disguised. So many eggs found unlock a large egg, hatching its resident. I think the first is a "duck-billed, long-tailed koala."
HOS: I read them described as lists. Which many are. But, what lists! To say interactive only tells half the story. There's one where we disturb crabs to get them to move, and we can still chase them around the scene after getting the hidden object! My favorite was the highlighted list on the cassette.
PUZZLES: I'd say twice as many as HOS. Several dog related (squeal!).
* move dog to dog house, passing through each circle (easy)
* swap papers to match dog figurine mottoes, then switch their accessories to match other papers.
* swap disks to restore image - this is a beautiful image
* make connections equal to numbers on the stars (confusing to me)
*match pairs
* help Ash through a maze (we don't see the maze), use items found to help him (you have to go down blind alleys to find the items). Match pairs of footprints and then again, but tiles move when wrong.
GIMMICK: not really. It's the box our uncle used, and when we need to trap an animal (for it's own good, although I hope they can leave free in peace at the end), we play a variation of match-3. Drag over 3 or move of a color. You must match a given number of each color, in a limited amount of moves. The animal we are after destroys some tiles so we can't make matches. It was fun, and I didn't always beat it first go, what with the limited moves.
We then are given that animals "power," be it flight or freezing things (demo).

This game will be an immediate buy next time I have the funds! I don't think you need to love dogs to enjoy the game, but it sure helps! I do not love every game with dogs, or dog helpers, I despise Elf, so am not recommending the game just because of Ash. I recommend it because, it really is the most fun I've seen in a long time, and it's quality. The story is not rehashed. It's not a mild 5 star game, it's a full, bloated 5 stars from me! Show less

I'm absolutely in Love with this game. It started out fantastic with the adorable little doggie with the seaweed and then a fish on his head and his smile made my day!

I'm at a point in my life now that I want to enjoy fun, adorable, whimsical things and forget all about things that stress me out. This game did that. The game is on the easy side which I normally like so I can just sit back and enjoy without stretching the grey matter but, at times it is a wee bit on the too easy side by actually telling you what to do, I could have done without the hand holding. It's the only negative I can find and it's not really that much of a negative.
I love the hidden object scenes, the puzzles are pretty good so far and I've managed to do them which is a bonus for me because I usually skip most of them. I thought the graphics and scenes were very well done and the music was appropriate for the scenes.

I wish there was a great sale on CE editions today I would be purchasing this game right now!! The sale they have today would be great if there were any other CE games I wanted at 4.99 but unfortunately, games I like are few and far between lately so sadly I'll have to wait for another day to purchase this awesome game!
If you are looking for a game with exceptionally complicated puzzles or hard mini games and/or if you don't find an adorable puppy dog as a helper fun then this would not be the game for you. As for me, it's perfection!

I love helpers! One of my favorite movies is 'Murder She Purred', in which two of the stars are 'Tucker', the Corgi and 'Mrs. Murphy' the cat! I really like most of 4 Friends games. I always enjoy 4 Friends Games. They are fun with a lot of variety to them. Yes, they do repeat some of the puzzles in their games but it has become a trademark for them...I think. This one should appeal to all level of players. I liked the story line and finding the hidden eggs. It also helps that they have a side bar telling you if you missed any in the scene. This will be a buy for me with a good sale. I liked the twist in the trial. I like the relaxed puzzles. I like the hops. The Corgi dog Ash was in the last Edge of Reality: Fatal Luck which I Loved. I think 4 Friends Games make Super Fun Games. They also made Living Legends, Bridge to Another World and Immortal Love.

I always have a fun time with their games. Looking forward to it.

Bonus & Extras: Way cool. I loved playing the Collections game. What a great surprise! Please do that again - the artist is fab.
Story line - Frankly, I got lost in the story; I was completely absorbed in both the main and bonus games. Time flew by.

I'm adding the Edge of Reality series to my "auto-buy" list. Forget the demo; just buy the game.

I LOVE everything about this game. What a great production! The graphics are blowing me away. The stars twinkling in the sky are so realistic and the same goes for the water lapping by the boat dock. The sound effects are excellent--the special effects are awesome--the music is great. You click on the window and you get movement and light and color. It's not the most difficult game but this game pulled me in the moment I started playing. Doesn't often happen that way with me. Also, I don't mind helpers, especially Ash, the corgi! He's too cute for words!

The voiceovers, some sound familiar to me from other games, are exceptional. The mini-games, puzzles, hidden objects, tasks--I could go on and on. Just fabulous! It's a pleasure playing this game! The flow is right on! The storyline gets two thumbs from me.

I love collecting the eggs and I'm so looking forward to the rest of the game and what it has to offer. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this game! Well done, devs! Well done! Show less

Thank you so much, I loved this game. Graphics are beautiful, and the game play is a lot of fun. I could have played forever. I liked everything about it. Collectable were fun, and I couldn't wait to see, them hatch. I liked the Storyline and the bonus game. It was a nice length and I'm sad it's over now.
