I have bought a couple of these and really enjoy the game mechanics of this style of M3, but this one is really only an M2, you dont need 3 tiles to clear your path to let the liquid flow and you can go up down around etc on your chains which makes gameplay a lot of fun.

I have only done some of the demo on this and am taking honey to bees as the characters I have to reach in time or they fly away and you will not get the tick on your level medal. If you don't choose timed the game will play in relax.

I am enjoying this one for what seems a slightly more generous, but still challenging timer, and the bright vibrancy of the tiles. It is really no different to other games in the series, but just tweaked a little to make it 'sweeter'. There are ice tiles and wood covered tiles requiring several goes over them to clear.

The larger your chain match the larger your explosion of the area and so there is still the dynamic of having to set up a certain colour to make a large chain to remove an obstacle that requires a 'big bang' to remove it and clear the way. (I did notice on the blurb the nuclear ones will appear too )..and they require a VERY large chain to blow them, so you will need to pick the colour you think and keep removing all the small ones stopping that colour from joining together. That is where I really like that you only need two tiles in any direction to remove them.

It's a whole lot of fun, and it still is a race in timed, but you get your hand in fairly soon and learn what to ignore that is of no use in getting to your little critter in time. Its a cute, bright, fun game. I didn't think I needed another, but this one was just too tempting and cute. Try the demo. Enjoy! Show less

I have all these games and My demo ran out before I could figure out how to destroy the fire tiles but with the help of my friends from the woods i was then confident to buy this game.

I am glad they have removed the normal match 3 as I found that very difficult to get anywhere fast and the chain match is much better, the bigger the chain the larger the bang and more tiles cleared.

This time the bees fly off if you do not get to them quick enough and you can replay a level until you get them all or you can play the relaxed levels first before you take on the timed.

Another thing with this game is you can not carry on in a section without getting the honey to the bee. I am referring to the relaxed levels here as the bee flys off in the timed.
It will not move on untill the bee gets the honey wheras before you could miss something then not go back.
You still can't go back but you have no need to now.

All in this is a great game once you get the idea of it. Try the demo and see what you think. Show less

I have the other games in this series. I really like this one and bought it right after doing the trial. I like all of the new features. Like some others, I found the fire challenge difficult to understand at first. I read the instructions a couple of times and kept trying to figure it out. I found that if I got both fire ties in view at the same time, it was easier to understand and I finally figured out how to do it. You have to get the fire from one fire tile to another fire tile, so seeing them on screen at the same time makes that much easier to achieve. Without the new features, this would have been a repeat of the previous games in this series in many ways. If the developer wants to keep an audience, they have add new things to keep it interesting and fun - while keeping some of the familiar at the same time. I think this newest version of Dig the Ground accomplished that nicely. Show less

I had trouble with the fire like others did. The directions did not make sense to me. The first one I solved was an accident. Got through the second one with luck.

By the third one I knew how to solve it. It is very simple using this method.

Have both fire locations showing. Go to the second one and make a match next to the fire symbol. Your match will be on fire. Work backwards from the ...Show more

This is the only series I like to play by this developer because the other series is too repetitive for me and these games are more varied for me to play

I love Dig The Ground games, they have a unique concept and always seem to add new features (even though they aren't original!) I love Dig The Ground games, they have a unique concept and always seem to add new features (even though they aren't original!) I loved the theme of the last game of getting water to the sea turtles and underwater critters, but this one is pretty darn cute too. The adorable little bees turn their frown upside down when the honey reaches their little coves. There are a ton of new obstacles but unfortunately, the instructions are horribly confusing!

You can play in a Timed or Relaxed mode and I will be honest, the timer was so stingy that it became nearly impossible to finish levels before the time ran out and it became too frustrating to continue, so I switched to the relaxed mode and had a better Zen experience!

This is a Chain Match game where you are tasked with creating chains of identical gems. Matches of 5 or more will create a bomb of varying strengths so you need to end the match at a strategic point in order to explode Crates, Planks, Ice, Lava, etc. The larger the match, the bigger the explosion, from a single bomb to a nuclear explosion! Some obstacles such as nuclear lava can only be destroyed with a nuclear bomb. Again, the goal is to clear a path for the honey to reach all of the bees.

Chains can be made vertically, horizontally, diagonally, or any combination within and you'll want to use this to your advantage, for example, releasing an explosion at the end or in the middle of nowhere, may not accomplish anything, it may be more beneficial if the chain is reversed so that the explosion actually hits something such as a lava wall or crates.

As you progress, most of the Bees are blocked by some type of Obstacle. There are Gems with numbers that require removing the specified number of whichever gem is shown. Gems with arrows & numbers require removing the correct number of gems in the direction the arrow is pointing. The most confusing obstacle was the Fire tiles which require making a match of blue tiles adjacent to the fire tile and then making matches next to the fire tile that creates a path of fire to the blue fire tile. This is totally confusing and took me forever to figure out, I almost quit because nothing I did worked and I didn't understand the directions no matter how many times I read them, I finally figured it out by trial and error!

I really liked the feature in the first game where you could manipulate the matches to allow the screen to move back to the area you were at. I also like that they have added a Relaxed mode, however, I really think the developers need to relax the timer a bit as well. I don't normally play in Relaxed Modes, I want a challenge but the timed mode has been crazy difficult for the past 2 games, and I consider myself to be an advanced Match 3 player! Perhaps they could use this current timer on a Challenge Mode and add an in-between Normal Timed option that gives us more time? I loved the concept in #3 of 'buying/saving' the puppies and cats with money I earned playing the game and it was much easier than the earlier games. I'm enjoying #4 with the concept of sea animals but I REALLY like that I can play 2 ways .... at the same time! Matching or making 'lines' of like colors. Again, easier than the 2 first games. #5 I'm not sure about.because there's just TOO MUCH! Get rid of x number of like colored blocks to explode the ONE block needed to get honey to that bee! But THAT color you need is nowhere to be found. Then, there's the 'fire' challenge which took me a bit to figure out. Add breaking 'x' number of blocks above, below or to the side depending on the directional makes no sense to me at all. Sometimes, that area is small! Add to THAT the challenge of breaking 'x' number of blocks but only UNBROKEN blocks are counted and not lines of blocks that are already broken just for the sake of getting that color done. It's just WAAAYYY to much to learn!

I got through Level 8 before the Demo ended and honestly, I'm really on the fence and am glad I didn't buy it before trying it ... as I do with several game series' I love. #4 has twice the number of levels in all the series. I play this game for the endless, mindless, numbing relaxation but I don't really get that with #5 because there's just ..... too much!

Try it before you buy it and ....

I like the Dig the Ground series. The only flaw with this game there is a vague description on how to get rid of the fire tiles. I still have not figured out....only thru trial and error. If there is something new please make clearer descriptions on how to clear obstacles. Otherwise this is a good game and the bees and honey are a nice change.

I recommend this game!

This game has many new features that I really liked. Some of them are as follows:

The fire tile feature - if you keep making matches, eventually the game will show you 2 fire tires. You much make matches beside the furthest tile, which spread the fire. Keep matching and spreading the fire until you get to the tile near the bee. Sadly the instructions for this make no sense, because they show up when there is only one fire tile showing. Like others I struggled for quite a while trying to understand until finally the other fire tile appeared and then the light bulb came on for me.

Sometimes you need to make matches on the same row that contains the tile with arrows on it. I also did not understand this one for quite a while. I thought you had to make matches on that side of the board, until I finally got it through trial and error. I read the instructions for this one quite a few times and it didn't make sense to me.

There is another feature where the tile blocking the bee has several green squares and a number on it. This one means that every tile on the visible screen needs to be unblocked (i.e. not longer has a blue background, and has honey flowing behind it). This was another confusing one in terms on instructions. I originally thought that the number was either the number of chains or just the number of tiles in the chain. It took me a while to understand that the number only decreased by the number of tiles that switched from a blue background to a honey background when the chain was created.

One other new feature are the poisoned squares, which are brown with green fragments on them. Every single one of these squares must be removed in order to progress. These instructions were the only ones that were clear to me right off the bat.

The reason I give it 4 stars rather than 5 is something that most other reviewers have mentioned: the instructions are terrible. I reread most of them numerous times, but only understood through a lot of frustrating trial and error. But once the game is understood I found it very enjoyable. Show less

This game is good, but I had to take one star off, because of the lack of instructions.

I am playing relaxed, but can't figure out how you get gold stars on the end of a level. On some levels I did not get the gold star.

I recommend this game!
