I love these games and as far as i know I own them all. I also replay them. They are, to me, that good.
I always play the demo first because you never know but the demo convinced me to buy. There are three modes of play - Relaxed (untimed) Mode, Normal, or Expert Mode. I love these games and as far as i know I own them all. I also replay them. They are, to me, that good.
I always play the demo first because you never know but the demo convinced me to buy. There are three modes of play - Relaxed (untimed) Mode, Normal, or Expert Mode. There is always a lot to do and you need a strategy especially when deciding what buildings to upgrade that will do the most good. In this one there is a volcano that is causing, as usual, havoc. There are bonuses that you can execute at the bottom of the screen such as +5 food, speed up factory and they refill over time.There are the usual supplies you must pick up to clear the road. I played 10 levels on Normal and only had to repeat one to achieve 3 stars. I did not find the timer to be that tough but I am sure the further you get in the game the harder it will be to get 3 stars. To me each level is different and it is hard to stop playing. As far as I could see the difference in the CE and the SE is in the SE there are no owls to collect, no strategy guide (which I very seldom use anyway) and you do not receive the extra 15 levels. I do not think you will be disappointed in purchasing this game whether you buy the CE or the SE both I found to fun. I bought the CE as I wanted the extra 15 levels.. Enjoy! Show less

When I saw this game and the team involved I knew it was going to be a great game.
All the old familiar gang are back and this series never disappoints.

In this one there is so much going on after the first couple of levels and they take on Raptors and T rex whom have a habit of returning.

In this one there is so much going on after the first couple of levels and they take on Raptors and T rex whom have a habit of returning.

It gets very challenging when you need to find frogs to lower the columns so if you are on a timed level the strategy guide is worth its weight in gold in the CE version but this version there are walkthroughs around if you need help.
This time we do not have the catch levels which I am well pleased with as they were not needed and just lowered the quality of a great game.

What I did find strange was when you have completed level 10 you can then play level 11 or 16 . I tried level 16 first and decided I needed a bit more warming up before I carried on so I just continued with 11 until I caught up.

At first I thought this was an error but then realised the map is routed to do that. No idea why it just seems a bit silly. I note the same thing happens later.

Enjoy level 21 where the squirrel takes on the T Rex, great fun and why this team make some of the best TM games out there,

I would suggest to play the demo in relaxed to get as much out of it as possible then if you decide to buy you can then up the ante.

All in a great game and I thank the Devs for putting this game together. Try the demo and see which version is best for you if you have not already bought the CE.
I wanted the extra levels but whatever you decide you can't go wrong if you love TM games. Show less

First of all, Viking Heroes is a really good game with great features, fun Owl Collectibles, and amazing graphics, however, all of their games lately have been really hard to earn all 3 stars on the Normal Mode without repeating each level several times. For me, this takes away the fun for a casual player because I don't see the point of playing a TM game on an Easy Mode with no Timer but I don't want to feel like a failure on every single level either! I'm not a novice player and I do very well with most TM games and I've only had difficulties with the timer on this developer's recent games. I think they need to be a little more lenient with the Normal Mode's timer or they will lose a ton of sales from fans who don't want to play a frustrating game because I have passed on purchasing the last 3 games by this developer because of this...some of which are on my personal Top 10 Favorites list!

You can play in an Easy, Normal, or Hard Mode and there are 40 Achievement rewards available. There are also 21 Collectible Owls, since they aren't available on every level, it would be nice if there was an indicator on the map as to which levels have an Owl.

This Collector's Edition version has 50 Main Levels and 15 Bonus Levels. There are 4 Wallpapers, 15 Music Soundtracks, 21 Collectible Owls, Puzzles, 40 Achievements, and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

I did love the Dinosaurs and Raptors that block your path and that you have to collect resources like water from the well to cool off lava stones before you can remove the rocks. Chests with Renewable Resource Options to choose from Food, Stone, or Wood require using strategy by figuring which tasks will require which resources.

Each level has a Bonus Bar at the bottom of the screen that can be used when recharged. The bonuses help speed up the players, adds +5 resources, speed up factory production, etc. Gems are collected to allow Helga to Cast Magic Spells and some Merchants and Stonehenge allow you to transfer resources such as Gems for Food.

The normal TM tasks are still a staple, building Quarries, Farms, Warehouses, Sawmills, Gem Mines, etc. I love that the sawmills, stone quarries, and gem mines keep producing products even when you don't gather the products immediately, they pile up with a number showing how many are available.

I would have given this game 5-stars (and purchased it) IF the Normal Mode's Timer was a little more lenient, but when I'm playing a level several times in the demo alone, it proves that it's only going to be more difficult as I progress. It really saddens me because I WANT to be able to purchase this game and play it without feeling like a loser and I have no desire to play on an untimed mode just to be playing it. The games by this developer didn't use to be this way until recently so perhaps they need to hire a Normal Player to set & adjust the timer!? I'd love to help because otherwise I will have to pass on all their TM game releases, and I'm sure there are others out there who are passing them up for the same reasons! Seems like I've played this game before. Same old, same old Tutorial is annoying so don't use it unless you need it. I agree with previous review that it is difficult to get 3 stars on some levels in normal mode. Game play is OK but I find the system cursor clunky so I always opt out for that.

Purchased this game years ago. My name is at the top of the screen but it won't let me play. It wants me to purchase. What's up with that??
