2017 game. Loved the weird character interaction. Crisp, clear, natural looking graphics. Kept me interested all the way through. The puzzles are on the easy side in this game. Infact I found the whole game pretty straightforward to the extent that it did lack challenge and will for any seasoned player. 2017 game. Loved the weird character interaction. Crisp, clear, natural looking graphics. Kept me interested all the way through. The puzzles are on the easy side in this game. So, in this game, one of Anna's newly found relatives decides to dig into the family's past and, OF COURSE, Anna has to use her powers to rescue her with a little help from her increasingly annoying father/skull.

This story had elements of both Frankenstein and The Time Machine. I enjoyed going into the dark ages of Anna's family. It had a very authentic feel about it, with the plague masks and ...Show more

So, in this game, one of Anna's newly found relatives decides to dig into the family's past and, OF COURSE, Anna has to use her powers to rescue her with a little help from her increasingly annoying father/skull.

This story had elements of both Frankenstein and The Time Machine. I enjoyed going into the dark ages of Anna's family. It had a very authentic feel about it, with the plague masks and the apothecaries (except for the typewriter, which wouldn't have been around at that time).

My remaining problem with these games is that they seem to get shorter each time. I had the pleasure of beta-testing this game and was really looking forward to it but it seems it was over before it had barely begun. Show less

you are going to the past to solve the present with the help of yo0ur late father who manifests himself as a ghost to help you. i played on the custom level. good hint system.

When Stacy Gray decided to research her family's lineage, she discovered information that led her to a small town named Graywitch. One of her ancestor's, Victor Gray had lived there once, but he wasn't exactly a welcomed resident. He was a well known scientist that angered many people when he created a monster, by resurrecting his wife from the dead! When Anna Gray learns that Stacy performed a ritual that turns back the hands of time, she fears for Stacy's life. It soon becomes abundantly clear that Victor's monster holds a very deadly grudge, and Stacy and Anna might both be in danger now!

Graywitch is an excellent game, however, it just doesn't have that Grim Tales vibe. Recently I have been playing back to back episodes of this series from the beginning so the game aspects are fairly fresh in my mind. The graphics are good in this edition, but they aren't as good as they have been in the past, and there's a certain disconnect with Anna and the Gray family in this episode.

Victor's wife isn't the only half dead half alive, monster in the room, good ole dad has returned to assist, I think he works similar to a genie, you just rub his skull that you have to lug around at all times, and poof! Richard somehow manages to have an entire inventory available at all times, he always seems to have just the right items at just the right time. (where does he get this stuff from in the first place?) In the Collector's Edition version there are several not so hidden and often quite large Jigsaw Puzzle pieces to collect which allows you to assemble and use 3 different Screensavers, and each scene has a Morphing Object, which are actually somewhat of a challenge because they are fairly well blended and the cursor doesn't change to shout "here I am" The CE version also offers the typical Achievements to earn and some of the scenes have hidden Dolls which also gives you a brief description about it's owner.

The Hidden Object Scenes are typical and the variations are offered in almost all of the games in this series. There are Keywords to find in sentences, Matching Pair finds, Multiple finds, Silhouetted Shape finds and the traditional, find 4 color coded items to fit into it's matching slot on the inventory bar to open up a Listed inventory list. There are also a few Zoom Zone HOP's where you are tasked with finding just a handful of items.

The Mini Games seem a bit simplistic in this game as compared to most Grim Tales games, but by no means worthless, because most are fun to solve. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Arrange the skeleton to match the image shown by moving arm and leg positions.

2) Insert letters into the typewriter in the correct order to spell the word shown.

3) Find and select the symbols in the scene that match the symbols shown at the bottom.

4) Click to select the bar when it is between each set of red lines.

5) Use directional arrows to choose the correct clothes based on the silhouette.

6) Arrange the smaller dials so their borders form a perfect circle in the center.

7) Use the hint to enter the correct safe code.

8( Choose the correct font size and color based on the clue by selecting letter buttons and arrows to toggle through the different options.

The Collector's Edition has 19 Achievements to earn, a Secret Room, an Archive section, 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, hidden Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces which can be assembled to use as 3 different Screensavers, a Morphing Object in each scene, 13 collectible Dolls with descriptions, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! Graphics were well done. The sound, especially the music in this one, was really good. :The music went along with what was happening and I could actually feel my heart racing a bit as it rose. Voice overs were well done and the colors, while rather dark, were not too much so.

If I had more patience, I would have been able to complete the mini games. They aren't all that hard, just time consuming. It seemed like there were a lot of the, click this but it may effect others, type of games. I don't like those at all and maybe that's why I think there were so many of them. Hidden objects were extremely varied which I like and were about equal with the number of mini games. This was a well balanced game and much to my liking. So far as a helper, the interactive map is a treasure. It does show where there are things to do and transports. There are several degrees of difficulty, of which I chose custom so I could set the skip and hint buttons to the fastest time.

The story is much the same. Good old Richard comes to help Anna through her trials and tribulations as she tries to resurrect Victor an ancient ancestor. Others will go into the story in depth so I won't bore you. The story did catch me from the very beginning and kept my attention all the way through. I am a bit confused about something. I carried Victor's skull around the whole game, expecting to use it sometime along the way, but the game ended and he was still in my inventory. Just don't quite understand that, but hey, I don't develop these things, I just play them.

Even though this is full of ghosts and such and you may be as tired of that genre as I, give the demo a shot. I think you'll find it to your liking. I sure did. Show less

When giving a review on a SE game, you have to go by the SE game. One person here gave a whole review on the CE. I read the CE wasn't worth getting. I loved this SE game. Loved the graphics and you'll enjoy it. I'll leave it at that and not blow the whole story line by giving it away. Enjoy. AND this is the SE version. If you want the review on the CE......go to the CE version of this game.
