One of my favorite series from Boomzap/Tiny Little Lion changed it up during this fifth installment. Change is good (mostly good!) but be warned, this offering is more challenging than the other Nature Escapes (NE), so put your bifocals on, pour a hot cuppa tea and settle in for some serious HOP fun!

One of my favorite series from Boomzap/Tiny Little Lion changed it up during this fifth installment. Change is good (mostly good!) but be warned, this offering is more challenging than the other Nature Escapes (NE), so put your bifocals on, pour a hot cuppa tea and settle in for some serious HOP fun!

You get to customize your music and sound setting - with a choice of just ambient (nature) sounds, immersive zen or casual. Casual is the new age acoustic style guitar we know and love from previous NE games while zen is very, very (very!) slow ambient and relaxing. I tried playing with zen initially and while there's a time and place for this type of music in my life it sort of made me want to nod off, so after a few scenes I flipped it over to casual which, for me, is "much better."

Finding certain hidden objects triggers little mini games - they aren't hard; might be a little jigsaw, find the pairs or "untie the knots" - type of thing. I enjoyed playing those through just once but if I didn't get a gold star on my first run through on the level I clicked the skip so I didn't have to play them again. Still, a nice little change up.

Objects CAN be a little difficult to find in NE5 and I struggled a bit at times trying to find a few items or animals which are very small or deeply obscured in darkness. Luckily there's a very easy way to zoom in but even though I'll admit I was skunked more than a few times. I have a 17" laptop screen - I'd not want to play on a 15" and perhaps they're easier to see on a much larger screen - I can only assume.

If this is your first Nature Escapes, I probably wouldn't start with this one because the challenge level is pretty intense. For seasoned fans of the previous four, the small but welcome changes to #5 made this a mostly outstanding game experience. Show less

i own all of these games..i love a good find it game..i love the changes to no5..1 to 4 are all the same humdrum game..glad to see that the 5th game was given some more thought..love it.

I love this series. And they added a little puzzle in the hidden object play. I like it. Love the scenery and that the items are not too easy to find. Love looking for the butterflies. I love everything about this series. Bought it right away.Did I mention that I love this game.!!!

Nature Escapes is my favorite series by Tiny Little Lion game studio. The scenes showcase nature at its finest with a vast array of Flora and Fauna. I particularly enjoy the fact that, for the most part, the items to find are nature-related; most of the time, items that don't fit under the "flora & fauna" category are usually decorated in a natural way, such as topiaries or pictures etched into cliffs, caverns, and caves.

Nature Escapes 5 has some brand new features over its predecessors...all of which are designed to help you find your Zen ☯️ as you enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature.

🌱Did You Hear That?
Sometimes, you have to hear the sounds of nature to appreciate its beauty, so a few new options have been added. The Ambient setting simply plays ambient sounds quietly in the background. In the Zen setting, you are immersed in the atmospheric sounds of nature combined with calming music. The Casual setting simply plays a variety of relaxing music soundtracks.

🌱 From Ardous To Zen
You can't have an ambient sound option without being able to choose how difficult or zen the gameplay is, so they have added a Relaxed Mode of difficulty. The Relaxed Mode has no Combo Meter Timer, and the Skip and Hint features recharge very quickly. If you prefer, the Challenge Mode will keep you on your toes with a Combo Meter Timer and a slow Hint and Skip feature.

🌱 I Like Your Style!
Everyone has different tastes when it comes to Hidden Object Games, which is why they have added a few different HO variants. You can switch between standard Listed Items, Scrambled Letters, Picture Mode, and/or Silhouetted Shapes. Actually, there are also "Spot The Difference" scenes as well, but those are considered to be sub-games.

🌱 A Kodak Moment
Each main Hidden Object Scene has a Hidden Flower Photo to collect. Found Photos are converted to Coins, which can be used to purchase various plants and flowers in the "My Garden" section. Once purchased, you can place the flowers on the display deck however you like; you can even select plants in multiples.

🌱 There's Something Shifty Going On Here
Each Hidden Object Scene (main and zoom zone subscene) has at least one Shapeshifting Morphing Object. Some of the Morphs can be challenging to spot because they morph at a fairly slow rate. Found Morphing Objects are converted to Flowers you can plant in the wildlife in the "Nature Album" section. Each flower planted is equal to three puzzle pieces, in which you drag pieces to the correct square to complete the flower's image.

🌱 What's That All About?
There are 18 scene locations (+6 CE Bonus Locations). Each location has a main Hidden Object Scene with a smaller zoom zone subscene. After completing the main HO scene, you'll play either a side-by-side Spot The Difference game or a Hidden Object Scene across two different side-by-side images. Depending on your Combo Meter score, you can earn up to three stars.

One item in every main HO scene prompts an in-game puzzle related to that particular object. The games vary each time, with sorting-type puzzles, swap-and-rotate puzzles, Tetris-shape placement puzzles, untangling tangled vines, memory matches, pair matching, etc. One of my favorites was a game where you had to place rocks with various lined patterns that aligned with the cracks in the surrounding dirt.

🌱Do you Want To Play A Game?
After completing the HO scenes, you will play a mini-game or puzzle. Every puzzle is unique, and some were quite challenging, especially the heavily detailed images that required you to swap and rotate various shapes within the picture.

I really liked this game. The game play is enjoyable. My biggest complaint is that there are at least 2 (that I have found so far) butterflies for morphing objects on two inset pages do not work and leaves you short of butterflies. If not for this problem, I would have rated it a 5.

I recommend this game!

I have all of these games, I love them, however this one did disappoint me, I usually have no issues with finding hidden objects, might take me a bit of time but I find them, this game had items that were truly impossible to find. First of all had to reload 3 times to get the game to load so that it was playable. Ran very slow and had lots of glitches

What a disappointment this game is. So many errors/glitches that it never should have made it to a release date, and they all appear AFTER the trial is over. I gave it an excellent on Challenge because, well...yes, it is very challenging to play a game with no pictures or missing list items!!! Everyone who bought this game should get their money back, especially at a Collector's Edition price. What a rip off! Show less

The game is an exact copy of the previous Nature Escapes clunkers using the same format, same no story, and the same mechanics. Just shift a few objects/minigames around and presto ---- a new game! LOL

And this one, like all the others, comes with the wallpapers we all so desperately crave and the music player we all happily listen to (sure we do)

Just another clunker in a series of clunkers that Boomzap is raining down on us. For those that find this sort of thing "relaxing" or "soothing" or whatever, go for it. The rest of us will wait for real games that don't clog up the release line. Show less
