This is my favorite MCF. It was totally unique and inventive when it was released. Many games have copied it, but none equaled it. It has live action, clever puzzles, morphing objects, secret locations, a really mysterious and creepy storyline and is just a brilliant game. This game is amazing.
I don't understand why you can't play this on Windows 10. There are older games that I've downloaded from Mystery Case Files and they're compatible with Windows 10. Why not this one?
As a result, I can't play it anymore. I would love to play it again, so please make it compatible!!!!

I contacted Customer Service for technical help a while ago, and was given advice on how to play it again. However, I understand by looking at this page, that the game is only suitable up to Windows 8 or below. Why wasn't I told this from the outset when I contacted Customer Service? It would have been nice if they had been a bit more upfront and honest about it.
Anyhow, what with the pandemic at the moment, this seems such an unimportant issue. On the other hand, with lockdown, finding ways of passing the time is necessary.
I know I am not the only one who has this issue judging by comments on facebook etc.
Please do a remake so we can play it again. Please? Show less

Challenging game. You need to keep up to figure out the next event. Fun game to play and takes time to play. The story line to good. Beginners may have a hard time but still a great game to play.

Plus = I enjoyed this game so much I have replayed it several times, and I usually do not replay games. I liked it so much I have recently upgraded to the CE.

Reading the rest of the reviews I agree with them, it looks like a fab game graphics-wise and story-wise.

I've played Dire Grove - Sacred Grove so I knew I needed to try this game. Bought the CE but it would not play so BFG gave me credit to buy another game. I knew I was missing out so ended up buying the SE last month.

Cassette tapes that you find along the way is your only human contact which is great. Yes you don't get much help from hints and one has to use an online walkthrough to help with certain puzzles etc but it didn't detract from the game for me. Your journal also comes in handy now and then. Its a challenging, creepy and fun game.

Yes its an old game but I wish MCF and others would keep making games like this, the more recent games are very generic. Show less

If you love mystery and adventure, you will find the best of both worlds in this game! The creators of Dire Grove went beyond the normal game concept and added some real unique elements, like real people over animated ones. It is no wonder this game is always on the most popular game list. It's awesome.

Seriously, best game ever. The atmosphere of the game is eerie and cold. The season is winter and you can almost feel the crispness of the air; due to the excellent graphics. But the best part is that it has real people integrated into the game. I can't say enough about this game.

This is what all game design companies should aspire to. Challenging puzzles, excellent graphics with a creepy setting and soundtrack, a storyline that makes sense and is not beyond the realms of believability and more importantly hooks you in until the end, and no over-reliance on hidden object screens.

I recommend this game!
