Best Non-Standard Mahjong

For a non-standard Mahjong with a bit of adventure to it, this is excellent. I found it a joy to play and the sounds of the scarabs (you'll understand once you play the game) fun to listen to. The object is to find the golden key blue tiles as quickly as possible and you don't have to remove all the tiles to do so. The different layouts, animation, graphics and sounds are excellent.

I keep playing this over and over on all the different levels and various tiles, and it NEVER stops being fun or gets old and this is the ONLY one I say this about. Graphics are great and the power-ups so to speak, are perfect and make it really fun or you can shut them off. I wish someone made more games like this but I can't find them.

While the tiles may be on the smaller side compared to other mahjong games, if it's a challenge you're looking for, this is a good one. The game is not impossible, and the timer does give you plenty of time. I've found I use half of what they give you. There are bonus tiles to help you along and five shuffles. The undo button doesn't penalize you. Only issue is that if you need a hint, the hint ...Show more

I had this game ages ago on Steam, but had forgotten completely about it until I started looking through the different mahjong games looking for something like the old Mahjong Solitaire on Yahoo Games (RIP). Something with a continuous score/game, no stupid "stars" to get, and I really don't care if there's a storyline or not.

I'm playing Adventure Mode right now. You travel across a map. It's called "non-traditional" because there are extra bonus tiles you can use. Sometimes you HAVE to use them to get to the tile underneath, lol, but you don't have to match the bonus tile with another one, so that's easy. There's a timer, but they give you PLENTY of time, so you can relax! Seriously, I've never run out of time, even on brain-foggy days. You don't get penalized for using shuffles, but you do get extra points for each one you don't use. You also get points for the time you have left, so there's still incentive to hurry. I like that you're rewarded for what you get done, not "dinged" for not doing it faster/better/whatever.

The goal is to match up the pairs of blue ankh tiles, and matching them will end the level. There's so much time, though, that if you want to clear all the rest of the tiles first before you click on the ankh tiles, you can.

I like this very much. It is addictive and I play it often, but when you get to the higher level maybe 2 main locations from the end it freezes up and when you close it you have lost all your points and have to start over. I have done this three times, so it isn't just a one time glich.

I recommend this game!
