A family vacation aboard the Timeless Cruise 20 years ago was unforgettable, because the ship vanished into thin air with your mother and father still aboard! You'll never forget that stormy night when you and your brother escaped the sinking ship on a lifeboat, as the storm clouds seemingly swallowed up the entire cruiseliner. Now after 20 years, the Timeless Cruise Ship has reappeared just as quickly as it vanished, and that strange storm has returned as well! (wouldn't it be funny if the cruise ship was the SS Virginia?) Have your parents returned as well? If they are still aboard the ship, will they look the same? The answer may surprise you....
The only feature I didn't like in this fourth installment of Rite of Passage was with the Compass that dad gave you to guide you toward the shore. It is used to dispel energy that surrounds random objects whenever the compass begins to shake wildly. I thought it was unnecessary with no entertainment value, if it doesn't add value to the game, why have it? Some of the inventory items have plus signs which indicate that some type of interaction is required before you can use the item, usually combining that item with another inventory item. There are 37 Collectible Seashells, some of which are well blended into the scenery, and there are Achievements to earn as well.
The Hidden Object Scenes contain one item that morphs, and there is an icon to the left of the inventory bar that will indicate whether or not the morphing object has been located. The first HOP was unique, you had to find matching cards and then place those cards correctly with the cards a statue was holding in her hands. There are also interactive list finds where the items from the list move aside to expose a fragment that will eventually complete a mosaic fish picture. There are actually a lot of Mini Games, swapping and rotating puzzle pieces, matching two exact symbols or placing wooden animals in their respective habitats. My favorite however, was a variation of "Blocks" where you had to rotate mirrors to capture a beam of light and direct it through the house until it reached a character sleeping to wake him up, BUT you also had to move furniture that blocked the light beam in a blocks type scenario.
This Collectors Edition has Achievements, Morphing Objects, Collectible Seashells, Wallpapers, Soundtracks, a Gallery, Collectible Hunt, Everlasting Voyage Bonus Game, replayable HO's (with trophies to earn when you beat a specific time) and a built in Strategy Guide, enjoy! Show less

REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME, BONUS AND EXTRAS
There is:
* Voiceovers;
* Calm Seas, Gale, Hurricane and Custom modes of play;
* Interactive map;
* 8 Achievements;
* Find 37 seashells in game and bonus;
* Use of compass to help you;
* Find 13 morphing objects in the HOS;
* Lots to do in the Extras.
The graphics are gorgeous - colourful, bright and crystal clear. I had no trouble at all roaming around finding clues and getting items. There are no dark, blurry or indecipherable scenes at all.
Sound and voiceovers are very good. The music is orchestral and I didn't turn it down at all. The HOS music is piano.
The hidden object games are interactive straightforward and silhouette. Some of these had a good challenge to them. There is one morphing object per HOS, so keep an eye for it. These were also challenging to find because they morph very slowly, but I love playing them.
There are a good variety of mini-games which had a few new ones I hadn't seen before and I enjoyed playing them all.
There is a compass that you use in certain situations. The compass will jump around and wobble, so you will know when to use it.
Even though we have an interactive map, I found that I didn't need to use it at all. You pretty much stick around the same area until all tasks have been done and you only need to go a couple of steps backward or forward, so there was no need to use it.
Most of the 37 seashells are easy to spot, but there were a few that I had to look carefully around. I find it easy to grab it first before doing anything else, just in case you get distracted. However, if you don't want to do them all at once, then you have the option of doing them altogether at the end of the game.
It is actually possible to get all of the achievements. I did try to be careful where I clicked in HOS and mini-games because it does say how accurate you were in the extras.
All up the game, bonus and extras took me about 6 hours. I really enjoyed the game, liked the characters and could have carried on playing all day.
Happy playing fishies. Show less

The Mad Hatter has given us a briny fish tale - a mermaid with an attitude - a beautiful siren who likes to do more than break a few hearts - she takes out whole ships as well! To me, this is a beautifully crafted puzzle-intense game with an innovative story about mermaids with a little "operatic?" libretto by a siren. The inventory is puzzle-like. The HOP scenes don't have the variation as in other games - most are locating items in theme-based HOP scenes which uncovers pieces to complete a jigsaw puzzle. There are more puzzles than HOP scenes The puzzles are creative, innovative and many are mechanically based. I love this game and purchased it immediately. This game "sang" to me with the first glimpse of the mermaid with the attitude! (Actually the featured song will probably never make the charts - but a creative touch and I liked the tune). Yeah! After the demo - the game becomes "creepier" and is even better with very creepy "muzac! "
HERE ARE THE DETAILS (AKA SPOILERS) FROM THE FIRST 3 CHAPTERS OF THE ACTUAL GAME: DANGER! - SAIL CAREFULLY THROUGH THE DANGEROUS WATERS OF THIS REVIEW. THIS SIREN'S SONG IS SINGING KNOWLEDGE WHICH WILL BE MUSIC TO THE EARS OF SOME AND CAUSE OTHERS TO BECOME DASHED UPON THE ROCKS LEARNING FACTS ABOUT THIS GAME.
While on a cruise, your mother and father were lost at sea in a ship- the Everlast - which disappeared into the clouds. However, you and your brother survived. As you cast away your sadness tied up in a toy boat along with your father's compass, you suddenly see the same ship reappear. Are your parents possibly alive and aboard the ship? Reaching the ship, you soon learn that you will need all your strength to battle the evil which has possessed you mother and father. Behind all of this mystery is the legend of vengeful mermaids looking for souls of lives they can ruin, leaving their victims lonely and dismayed in the Land of the Forgotten from which no one returns. Our Mad Hatter sings quite a siren's song in this seafaring journey of a game
LEVELS: Calm Seas, Gale, Hurricane, Custom Hints and Skips range from 15 to 90 seconds. No penalty for misclicks in HOP scenes.
GRAPHICS : Realistic, sharp imaging and nicely done.
INVENTORY Interactive and puzzle-like
HOP SCENES: Interactive theme-related junk piles As you locate pieces, you uncover pieces to complete a jigsaw puzzle which give you an inventory item.
THE BEST HOP SCENE TO ME: Searching for and matching parts from a blueprint for a glider. Locate various items needed by several HOP scenes and puzzles. As an aside - this is an activity "sis" could probably do this herself without the help of her "big" brother. Girls can do more than become " singing sirens." LOL
PUZZLES: The puzzles are varied in difficulty and content and I found TWO FAVORITES:
A. Matching. Three from the first 3 chapters involved locating cards then placing them in correct sequence and matching symbols to open a door (a little more complex) as the symbols are similar to each other and later on a drawer
B. Variation of a jigsaw puzzle grouping similar items together and then placing them into the correct slots
C. Storybook sequence - variation of jigsaw/tile puzzles
D. Maneuvering objects into correct locations and gauging bars to hit a target and collect items. Later in the game, maneuvering arrows to open a port window on the ship
E. FIRST AWESOME PUZZLE: Variation of a mirror positioning puzzles to light up all mirrors to wake up a sleeper. Use mirrors to move furniture. Quite innovative devs!
F SECOND AWESOME PUZZLE - FIGURING OUT WHAT ACTIONS TO TAKE IN A MULTI-TASK PUZZLE AND DECIDING WHAT IN WHAT ORDER TO PERFORM THEM. LOVIN' IT DEVS!
G. Lock pick puzzle
EXTRA GOODIES:
NICE LENGTH GAME - 5 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER
A. Map - Get map as you play the game
B. Timer - You are timed in how long it takes to play the game
C. Collect 37 Seashells to complete a jigsaw puzzle
D. Collect 37 more items in the Bonus Chapter Treasure Hunt
E. 13 Morphing objects in the HOP scenes
F. Strategy Guide
G. Keeps track of time played in the game
H. Compass which is used to eliminate negative energy. A little gimmicky and to me the WORST PART OF THE GAME
A BIG THANK YOU to Mad Hatter for adding to my ever growing list for duct tape - fixing a fishing rod. I am not certain if duct tape would exert enough strength to hold the rod together, but it is a good effort by the dev to "think outside the "tackle box." Show less
I recommend this game!

Twenty years ago your family took the Everlast Cruise Ship on vacation. Unfortunately, a strange storm arose, you and your brother escaped in a lifeboat, but your mom and dad stayed on board and disappeared with the boat into some type of portal, with a mysterious mermaid nearby.
Twenty years later, the boat - and the mermaid - reappear. You attempt to sail out to the ship, but are thwarted by the mermaid whose song conjures up a huge wave. You barely survive, and with your woodworking brother's help, you fix your dad's glider and glide over to the boat. You crash land - of course - meet your dad who is now under some strange spell, get locked up and sail away into the Realm of the Forgotten - and the demo ends! UGH!
This is a detailed game with lots of steps to first repair the boat and even more steps to reconstruct the glider, with several HOPs and mini-puzzles along the way. The demo was 80 minutes long, which gave me lots of time to spend on puzzles. My favorite mini-game was the background story of the mermaid, which included placing puzzle pieces into a scene correctly and rotating them when needed. There was also a multi-step complicated puzzle to move a ball from one end to another -- had to use the strategy guide for that one!
There are four modes of difficulty - calm sea, gale, hurricane, and custom - keeping with the oceanic theme of the game. There are 8 achievements, plus 37 seashells to collect, and 13 morphing items in the HOPs. There seems to be lots of CE bling, including a Collectible Hunt, Everlasting Voyage 2, a Treasure Hunt, plus a Gallery with pictures of the Crew.
This is the fourth in this series and they are all different and interesting. I am off to buy this one. Try it and see! Show less

Their yacht was called Everlast and they were traveling in the open sea, leaving you behind in the Oakmoore. They never returned and a rescue team was unable to find them. Now after twenty years of mourning your psychoanalyst has recommended you to let them go and move forward. But when you build a model of the Everlast in memory of your parents, a letter from Everlast reaches you! And this letter allows you to find Everlast, maybe even find your parents! But to do so you will have to commit dangerous journey through the seas, meeting demonic possession and even mermaids! I recommend this for all level of adult players. The graphics are stunning, the voice acting is flawless, and the story is very emotional (I cried). The bonus game is great too, again I was very emotional. I am absolutely captivated and am only still in demo mode. A definite buy for me. The way the game was created, I felt involved in the story as a real character. Not an easy task to do, and many other devs in competing games have tried and failed trying to make the gamer feel wholly involved in the story.
There is mystery to the feel of the game and a sense of discovery. Go ahead and discover the adventure, yourselves. Show less

The only thing I feel lacking in this game is the lack of emotion from the other characters. I mean, you are the only one who is going to rescue your parents, but other people dont seem to care even though you are going alone. I mean, you are going to a ghost ship kind of thingie and people just say "good luck"? it's kind of making no sense to me. It may be the very last time we saw those people so a little emotion, please?
As always, good extras but since I am playing the demo I couldnt check them all. Anyway I enjoy this game and while this week there's a sale, I might make use of it and buy this game :) Show less
