The Cardinal has chosen you to travel to the village of Portonero Spain to stop a mad man. Inquisitor Augustine has become obsessed with hunting down the witch Miguela the Wolf Queen. It does indeed appear that Augusta has gone stark raving mad resulting in nearly the entire town to flee from his relentless persecution! What happened to the Inquisitor Augustine that constitutes the cruel and unusual punishments he bestows upon his people?
I was a huge fan of the first installment of Where Angels Cry, and I love the computer generated graphics that have been masterfully accomplished here. This is one of those games you either love or hate, because it has unusual features. For starters, some items require the use of a feature called a Combiner that appears when certain items are clicked on. The Combiner will display silhouetted shapes around it that need to be found and then placed upon it's silhouetted shape, and when all items have been found the item task can be completed. Another cool feature unlocks videos whenever you spot a falcon, and there are 15 Collectible Doves throughout the game. You can choose an Icon feature that will show feet wherever there is a different available exit to move to, and of course the usual Achievements associated with a Collector's Edition.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with either listed items or silhouetted shape finds, and most of the HOP's will continue with a few progressive interaction tasks after the list is completed, such as finding and using rocks on a catapult to bust open a stone castle which will expose a key which is used to open a box and so forth. My only complaint is that they didn't stick with period related items, I'm pretty sure they didn't have spring loaded clothespins in the 1300's.
The Mini Games are actually decent but on the easy side such as, swapping Maltese Crosses on a board within their color coded slots and from smallest to largest. Arranging buttons to complete an image by swapping and rotating, and even getting into a battle with Augustine where you have to click on the shield while the crosshair icon is inside the shield to defend yourself, if you misclick it results in your damage not Augustines.
This Collector's Edition has replayable Mini Games and HOP's, unlockable Background stories, 5 Wallpapers, 9 Concept Art pictures, Music Soundtracks, 15 Collectible Doves, 16 Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! Show less

Game is challenging both in the hidden objects and puzzles. Not all games are the same thank goodness. Rather than try every piece in your inventory, a circle of items needed helps gamers collect them to further their progress. I prefer this to trying out all my inventory items which can be so frustrating.
With BFG's awesome Labor Day Sale, made immediate purchase. Thanks to BFG and Cateia Games--one of my favorite Developers-- for a job well done!
Also, any possible technical issues are addressed in the forums and with BFG customer service who are extremely helpful and dedicated. Had no problems at all with downloading and playing, however, I do conduct the needed maintenance on my computer for top gaming performance.
Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

For what I saw I love this game. It took me back to other games from the past. Unfortunately I can not come up with the name of those games right now though I searched to find them. What I am talking about is I love the areas where you got to find other objects through out the game to make other things work. Like when needing a bandage you got to first find water, herbs and a bandage some where else in the game. It makes it more of a challenge. The mini games are good. I like the graphics and story. The only negative in my opinion is the excessive music. The HOS are good and there are two different kinds. One where you just find the objects and the other where you got to use other objects from the scene to find the main items. For a collectors edition I just wish there where more extra stuff to look for like the morphing objects from other series. The doves you got to look for but those seem easy and there doesn't look like there are too many to find. Other than the lack of something extra and the annoying music I really did like the game a lot and can't wait to finish it to see how it ends. Show less

This time Vatican sent you to Spain where inquisition gone to the birds. At least not whole Inquisition but one particular inquisitor – Brother Augustine in the small isolated village called Portonero. It’s 13th century so it’s almost normal to be obsessed with witch hunts and burn any beautiful girl alive, but… just almost. You were sent there to stop him, but are you brave enough for this assignment! Augustine won’t just give up and he is a trained swordsman just as you are. Can you win the battle, or you will be killed or even burned as a warlock? Seek out the evil witch (wolf queen) Miguela and destroy her plans. Along the journey you meet a host of character's who ask you to complete several quest's, most notable is finding Diego, the son of Delores. Delores is the wife of the sheriff who is murdered by the insane Inquisitor at the beginning of your journey. The story really begins to draw you in when you reach this chapter of the journey. I found this edition not only enigmatical and a divine ride, but included more than enough stunning sublevels, encouraging sound and pleasing to the eye art scenes. Though Where Angels Cry 2: Tears of the Fallen is a pretty standard Adventure / Puzzle game, it includes lots of grand features that will hale your attention. The combiner feature of collecting several pieces to make up an inventory item was clever, even if it's been done before. I enjoyed this lengthy adventure and look forward to playing the 1st installment Where Angels Cry next... Show less

Glad to see this team is back and with an awesome game! This is the sequel to "Where Angels Cry". The VO's are awesome! Our main character's voice I nearly had a meltdown. Reminded me of the Bing Crosby days when the women crooned over his voice lol. In the game you will see black crows with purple smoke floating around them. Click on them and you will get more background story of the game. When you click to pick up certain main items, you will get a gear with little circles on it. You need to put extra items in those circles to get the main one. For the collectibles in the beta version so far, you pick up white doves. Also in the beta, (not sure if this is going to be in the real game), you'll get tips on game play and then the game itself will start up again. For example, when the Monk was traveling from the Monastary to the village he needed to go, the game brought up a tip screen and told you to click continue to continue. I wasn't sure if that was the end of the beta or what was going on. Also, just for fun, click on different things to see if your Monk makes a comment. For example, click on the pig where the guard is and see his comment. :)
Story: We'll be traveling to Spain. Rumor has it that inquisitor Augustine lost his marbles. He became obsessed with hunting this witch down named Miguela who is also known as the Wolf Queen. On the inquisitor's quest to find her and kill her, the inquisitor killed many people so there the people are totally terrified of the inquisitor. So it's up to us to put an end to the inquisitor once and for all.
Graphics: Absolutely gorgeous. If your monitor supports HD, it's really awesome. The graphics can appear so lifelike. And there's a lot of 3D graphics too.
Music: Really really pretty. Fits with the game perfectly.
Hint system: Awesome! Usually, you hit the hint button to see where you have to go next and then hit again to keep going. With this hint system, you hit the hint button once, and you just keep following the arrows to where you need to go. Also if you go into the wrong place the hint arrow will come back up and still show you the way. Kudos to the team for this. Very very helpful.
Mini games: Really really fun. Some are on the easy side, but I like this. The first one was a cross one where you had to put the crosses into their correct places, another was 3 tanagram puzzles in a row to open a box, and another was where you got into a fight with the inquisitor and you have to make sure the crosshairs are in the middle of the shield and then click your mouse so you protect the Monk. Nice variety.
H0GS: In the beta version I ran into lists and silhouettes. After you find all the items on the list, you still have extra things to do in order to get your main item for the game.
Map: It tells you what the map indicators are for, and it is a jump map.
All in all again this is one awesome game. Kudos to the team for a job well done. I highly recommend this game. Show less

This is a visually stunning game with a real story to it. Hidden objects are a feast for the eyes; mini-games are fun and not too taxing; lots to do and I'm glad I got the CE with extras!
Great for HO fans who love a touch of Gothic fantasy. I must add the music is lovely, too and adds to the game rather than being intrusive as can sometimes happen.

I also love this developer, Cateia Games, I really enjoyed Red Crow Mysteries - Legion, Tales from the Dragon Mountain both.
