Seems these two little luvbugs have gotten themselves into a situation. This game challenges you to use the principles of magnetism, opposites attract and like charges repel, to allow the red and blue charges to meet together at the same time. There are red and blue batteries surrounding the charges, which are used to direct the charges around the board, collecting the 3 available stars and then to the bulb in the middle at the same time. You can replay the levels as often as you want to try to achieve a better score, and there are several Achievements to earn as well as collectible photos. Eventually you will apply tools such as insulators, conductors and lone charges as the levels get more difficult and complex as you progress. You can earn spins on the hint wheel and apply different apparel to the charges which consist of hairstyles, eyewear and costumes. I just found this game to be more frustrating than it's worth. Tangled Up! seems relatively simple and somewhat repetitive for adults, but might be perfect for children as a fun way to learn and apply the principles of magnetism. Tangled Up! seems relatively simple and somewhat repetitive for adults, but might be perfect for children as a fun way to learn and apply the principles of magnetism. If you're playing this with your child, I strongly suggest turning off the music; it's on an extremely short loop and is likely to drive you insane rather quickly.
Each level presents Mr. Negative (blue) and Ms. Positive (red) who are attached by "charge" of their attraction, but separated from each other. Bring them together at the light bulb by clicking the blue and red batteries around the edge of the grid, collecting all three golden stars and any other special items on the way. Be careful not to move them too far apart from each other, or the charge between them will break. (You'll hear the charge sizzling and see it sparking when it's beginning to be stretched too far.)
The levels start out easy—the first two are tutorials—and gradually become more and more complex and additional obstacles and goals are added. Periodically, you can spin the wheel and win extra hints and other helpful things. Lastly, there's apparently a (shudder) dress-up area you can check out, once you win clothing for Mr. Negative and Ms. Positive.
So, my 3-star rating is from my perspective as an adult. Gameplay was ok, but I think the game sounds would drive me nuts as they're geared toward children. If you do have kids who are in grade school, I recommend letting them give the demo a try, as they might love it. Show less

I played the demo, hoping that the game would be fun. However, I found it to be way too difficult for me too early on. I loved the graphics, the little electrical people were very cute, and I liked all the pastels in the game. The music and sound effects were annoying however, very repetitive and loud. I had to mute it to continue playing for the free hour. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. It took me a while to figure out that each level has three separate stages, and you have to earn three stars in each stage to get three stars for that level and to earn a little trophy and a tiny little picture of the electric people, about their love story. Each stage of each level gets increasingly more difficult. I think this game is definitely for advanced puzzle playing adults, but a child prodigy might enjoy it as well. It was too hard for me! I think the video arcade games from the 80's had better graphics and music. Anyway, the object of the game is to re-unite two cutesy little ion characters by connecting them with the correct positive or negative charges. While the premise is scientific, the whole package is juvenile.
So, I just don't know what to make of Tangled up. Is it for children who know something about electrical currents or is it for adults who can put up with a silly story & silly handrawn characters in order to solve cartoon puzzles? I just don't know. Show less
