The game grabbed me from the start and didn't want to stop playing.

I completed the Main Game and I am saving the Bonus Game for tomorrow.

The storyline, scenery, voices and music were appropriate although I didn't care for the map that much.

The HOS were very varied and interesting, further into the game I found some that were fairly difficult as the items to find were very well ...Show more

The storyline, scenery, voices and music were appropriate although I didn't care for the map that much.

The HOS were very varied and interesting, further into the game I found some that were fairly difficult as the items to find were very well hidden.

The puzzles were very enjoyable starting relatively easy but getting harder as you go along.

Look out for cameo appearances from a panda near the beginning of the game, I had to laugh as he tried to sneak onto the set without being noticed. Show less

Mix of science, historical facts, historical fiction, the beauty of the natural world, and then the huge spacious places, in both in the tomb areas and in the modern offices with giant windows and foyers. For me, it’s the BEST Hidden Expedition’s game since Hidden Expedition -Dawn of Prosperity.
Mix of science, historical facts, historical fiction, the beauty of the natural world, and then the huge spacious places, in both in the tomb areas and in the modern offices with giant windows and foyers. Relaxing and absorbing. Loved the stone pillars in Hunan National Park. Story line kept up a consistent tempo.

GRAPHICS: Soft focus graphics. Good visibility. Nice environmental details. However, over all I wish everything was sharper; I just think it look nicer and is more enjoyable to play. Occasionally, you zoom in and you can tell it was a REAL ornament, because it’s super sharp, with great reflections playing on it.
SOUND: 4 options. Music and Voice are separate; GREAT! Environment and Mouse are tied, and there’s separate control for Cutscenes. Great audio experience.

HOPS: - 15. Mostly wordlists, some silhouette, some a little interactive. Visibility is fine, I just wish the HOPS were more attractive to look at, rather than having blurred, and grainy edges.
PUZZLES: PLENTY. Enjoyable mix.

HINT: Customizable down to 10 seconds. Guides and leads, will sometimes open up a jump portal for you.
DIFFICULTIES: 4 choices -interchangeable.

JOURNAL: You have your FACT CARDS, MESSAGES stored in your electronic device.
MAP: In the electronic device. TRAVEL with useful indicators.
INVENTORY: LOCKABLE

CHARACTERS: Interesting characters! I liked them! I thought they were likeable and eccentric, with good voiceovers.

BONUS GAME: EQUALLY as enjoyable as the main game.

Please make more games, similar to this one, traveling to different cultures, all around the world. Show less

In this tenth game in the Hidden Expedition series, the Eternal Emperor, we find ourselves dealing with the over-zealous, power hungry descendent of China’s first Emperor –Qin Shi Huang. You embark on this latest adventure at the unearthed archeological site of Emperor Qin’s tomb led by Professor Huang Son Jiang and his assistant Anna Chan. This is a memorable day for you and Sam as you join in the festivities to celebrate the opening of the tomb. Your job is to run interference against any booby traps or other obstacles that you might encounter.

Everything about the game is fairly much signature of this developer with excellent graphics to great sound effects and voice overs. The game offers a custom setting for those of you who prefer to set up your gameplay options. There is a transporter type map but I don’t care for the way it opens in this game. Whenever I select the map there is a delay as it is part of the HELP toolkit. For some reason the map seemed a bit clunky.

The HOPS were excellent and varied with some being multi-level. There even seemed to be a bit more creativity in a few of the HOPS which keeps things interesting. The puzzles or mini-games were a bit too easy and I only found one to be a bit challenging but that was due to the instructions.

What I loved about the game is the storyline that held my attention. What I disliked about the game is the obnoxious professor who kept referring to me as a “little carp.” Talk about a demeaning attitude – this guy had it in spades!

The CE has all the regular things I like in games from this development team with collectibles, morphing objects, achievements, and all the other typical fluff.

The Hidden Expedition series is one I love and these games were among the first HOPA games I ever played. I own each game in the series and always eagerly await each new game to see what is next. The Eternal Emperor is an excellent addition to the series but falls short of being my favorite. At least for me the game captured my attention from the moment I arrived at the Emperor’s burial site and continued throughout the game. Although the puzzles were a bit easy, I really enjoyed some of them because of the variety and because they are the types of puzzles I enjoy. Even though I really like this game, please try the demo to see if The Eternal Emperor is a game you will enjoy as well. Show less

Such a magnificent game!!! I played the demo and am really astonished! Beautiful graphics and scenes into the old energies of China. I hope I can soon buy this and play further on! I love almost every game of Hidden Expedition and this is a true chinese jewel!

Loved the story line. Graphics were great, music was nice, and the game was a great play. Not the first Hidden Expedition I've played, and they get better all the time. Good Job!

Some of the puzzles were really hard and I needed my guide and some were ridiculously easy, but I enjoyed the story line and change of scenery from the tomb, to the garden, the mountain and the desert. One thing I really loved was after I finished the bonus chapter, I also got the option to go back and get the 1 collectible I missed, the 4 morphing objects I missed and all 28 of the souvenirs. I didn't quite understand the souvenirs because when I started a new game and was looking for them, they were not there. I also got to re-play all the HO scenes and win an achievement for getting gold on them. I'd say the whole thing took me about 8 hours. Show less

I fail to see why this sort of artifice is included in games where having the right instrument is no more difficult to supply than something illogical.
The idea that we are being tricked and are, therefore, slightly stupid has no appeal for me, or for anyone else I imagine.
Games can be very challenging and logic makes us use our minds and develop new ideas instead of wasting our resources on stupidity.
The Eternal Emperor has logic and a proper baddie who is sly and mean, and it has a madman who will go to any lengths to 'regain his throne', which of course isn't his.
The Agent is, as always clever and Sam not quite so up to parr as he usually is, but nevertheless still available to help.
The game is certainly worth the time, energy and money - it has logic :D Show less
