Rainbow Mosaics: Christmas Lights is back, and it's bigger and brighter than ever! There are 120 colorful levels this year, as you decorate the Johnson family's new Christmas tree, after somebody stole all their presents, including their beautiful Christmas tree that the family worked so hard on decorating.

I love the tile choices that are available in RM games. There are 7 different styles to choose from including my favorite, the lego style tiles. The goal of a mosaic game is to fill cells or cross off cells, using the numbered clues on columns and rows. Each filled in number must be separated by at least one empty or crossed off cell. When you complete the grid, the filled in cells will create a Christmas themed picture with images like Christmas presents or Christmas tree ornaments.

Some of the cells contain coins which can be used to decorate the tree, or to purchase upgrades for the Power-up bonuses. There is an Eye that will open up a random right square, a Hammer that will open up any chosen cell, and a Grid power-up that opens a grid formation of your choice without a negative outcome. The amount of cells opened will increase with each upgrade, and each one shows the pattern and amount of area is covered.

You will earn 3 stars if you complete the puzzle without any mistakes. You can earn up to 10 different Achievements, and open up puzzles within a freeplay mode as you progress in the story mode. This one's a definite keeper, that offers up to 6 different colors, Merry Christmas, enjoy! Show less

However, the tree outside their window provides a glimmer of hope that perhaps the family can decorate it with all the decorations you will earn in this festive 5-star game. A BIG THANK YOU to BFG for the beautiful Christmas game, all decked out with bright cheery colors and Christmas delights, including an occasional Christmas carol playing in the background. And just wait until you envision those yummy sugarplums dancing around in the background of this game. I LOVE this game. This developer produces outstanding griddler games, and this one is another shining star to place atop of the Christmas tree.

As you sit by the fire awaiting Christmas day, can you bring a little Christmas cheer to the Johnsons and to yourself as well? After finishing the game, join the Johnsons and hold hands round the Christmas tree as you sing the Whoville Christmas song. However, you might want to sing some carols as well while playing this game. This was an automatic free coupon game for me and a wonderful early Christmas present!

GAME FACTS:

• 120 Griddler puzzles encircling a Christmas tree.
• Beautiful realistic looking pictures of holiday items upon completing the grid.
• Square patterns: Choose up to 7 different styles of square patterns. I know no other developer which offers this feature.
• Colors: The game has up to six colored screens which can be switched at any time while playing the puzzle.
• Autofill: There is autofill so you do not have to fill in the unused boxes. However, you can use your mouse to right click “X’s” for unused spaces.
• Collect coins to purchase decorations for the tree and power-ups as well.
• Power-ups. – These are aids you can purchase. You are given free ones as you earn points as well.
Eye – Opens one random square for you.
Hammer – Allows you to open one square of your choosing without a penalty
Grid – Opens a complete section of your choosing within the grid
• Stars: You get from one to three stars based on solving the puzzle and on the amount of errors you collect.
• Errors: You are allowed four errors (maybe more in the later puzzles?). Once you have used up the allowable errors, you need to start the game over again. Show less

This is for sure my favorite series of color griddlers. The puzzles get challenging, the colors are bright and clear, and there's autofill. And ... you can choose whether or not to cross off the numbers as you go!

Music is okay, but I usually listen to Pandora. Visual quality is excellent. Not much story, but that's a bonus in griddlers, anyhow. Achievements, decorations to buy, etc.

This is for sure my favorite series of color griddlers. The puzzles get challenging, the colors are bright and clear, and there's autofill. And ... you can choose whether or not to cross off the numbers as you go!

Logic based puzzles for the most part, but there are a few you need hints for, because they end with an ambiguity on the board.

One thing I loved about last year's Christmas Lights was that it had minigames every nine levels. Kind of broke up the griddlers, and were an easy way to get a few extra coins to buy ornaments and powerups.

Best of the season! Try it! Show less

I enjoyed this version a lot. Some mosaics were easy, others were a challenge. I liked earning the rewards. The story line was a bit weak but cute. My only real complaint is this. If you play mosaics a lot this is a problem. Doing each mosaic once and getting three stars does not earn enough coin to purchase everything. This means not getting reward.

So far, into my trial, I didn't get penalized for what they assumed to be a guess. This happened with another game of this type that I played so points for this one for not doing that. Lovely game! Thinking of upgrading my trial to the full version.

I really enjoy these types of puzzles. This one was not tediously over-challenging, had auto-fill, bright multi-colored pictures, and a basic storyline, which could have been much better with a little thought. The same Christmas carol played over and over, and became very annoying. So unless you like humming the same song, be prepared to play with no sound. These puzzles are supposed to be based on logic, not guesswork. Unfortunately, there were more than a dozen that required using a hint to complete; a definite no-no for nanograms in my book. In all, better than most, with a few disappointments that won't keep me from buying the rest in this series. Show less
