In Chase for Adventure: The Lost City, Ann Windsdoe retraced her father's archaeological expedition in Madagascar, where he disappeared over 20 years ago. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to locate her father, and returned to the university empty handed. Ann is eager to embark on another adventure, this time, to locate The Iron Oracle, an ancient device that could be the key to finally locating her beloved father.

The graphics are fairly decent, and I love the different tasks that are required in each level. I still don't see a need for a Collector's Edition in a Time Management game, but I did enjoy finding the Morphing Chameleons and the red, blue and purple Jewels (one morph and one jewel in each level)

As I stated earlier, most of the tasks are kind of different, for example, you have to first find a Shovel to dig up piles of sand, and you have to find a Lantern before you can explore the Ancient Barrows. Some of the sites have a few Camera Icons that are located near important landmarks or other discoveries, and you have to place the camera first, then you have to take the picture, and if there is more than one object to photograph, you'll have to click on the camera again, in order to move it. There are giant stone door disks to move, Sphinxes to explore and even ancient Tombs to explore, so far, I haven't repaired a single bridge!

There are still the familiar tasks of gathering resources such as food and water, or clearing paths of debris such as stones and boulders or fallen trees. You will need to strategically construct the correct buildings that will give you the resources you need such as Tents for more Workers, Sawmills for Wood,Canteens to supply Food, or Pumping Stations for Water. Some supplies are constantly being delivered in small amounts by helicopter, mostly food and water.

There is a Bonus Meter at the bottom of the screen that has to fill up before you can use the power-up icons such as, Faster Workers, Extra Resources etc. There is also a meter at the top, which shows you your level Star position, but any level can be replayed from the map.

Although this isn't one of my favorite Time Management games, I really enjoyed the change of pace tasks available. Personally, I don't have any interest in the CE extras offered, so I will wait patiently for the Standard Edition to be released.

When I say like time management, I think what I mean is I like good quality "gather resource" games. I loved the first one in this series and didn't hesitate to grab the collectors edition.
It's got the lot! Strategy guide, morphing objects and collectables on each level, wallpapers and achievements.

I don't really go for restuarants and farms or serving people when it comes to time management strategy games. If you like this formula instead, like Elven legend, Dracula and such, you will love this.
It has loads of chapters in the collectors edition..just get it! A true collectors edition. Show less

Was hesitant to buy the first installment of this game but glad I did since I know how to play this one which is a suggestion for those giving negative reviews. Granted you may have to play a level over but that's where the fun is - a challenge.

We're back to finding dad again and game play is like previous - gather resources, build buildings to accumulate same. Since I know how to play this now am thoroughly enjoying it. Keeping an eye on what I'm doing and am progressing great (but still have to play a level or two over). Music is light and not the least intrusive to game play like a lot of games, instructions are clear and if you keep an eye on what you're doing you should get your stars. I always play a new game in casual so that doesn't bother me but for the die hards it's a must.

So try it and for those liking a challenge but not to the point of hair pulling you should enjoy it. PLUS a nice change from these horrible doom, gloom, hideous faces and creepy crawly's like we get these days; wish they would come up with more fun games. Show less

I had a great time with this game !!!

The graphics are superior and I can see a lot of effort and talent went into creating this great game. The music was a bit tedious...if it got a bit too tedious I just turned it down...but that didn't affect my take on the game.

There were a couple of challenging areas but are able to figure it out without too much difficulty.

Now as far as the English goes...there were a couple of areas where the English was not up to snuff...maybe they just need a spellcheck on their pc...I think that would solve the problem they seem to be having.

All in all...I totally enjoyed playing this game...and I hope you will too !!! Show less

Truly enjoyed the game for the 1 hour demo. Pen explained the game already. The only thing I had a problem with, is there is no pathways. You're in a area with boxes stacked in different piles, Animals, that are said to be dangerous, just standing around, just sort of a hit or miss which way do I go. That said I did enjoy the game loving the morphs ;)

I recommend this game!

I loved, loved, loved the original Chase for Adventure. I've played it two or three times by now, and it's one of my favorite games. So when I saw today that it had a sequel, I immediately abandoned the game I was going to play to play this one instead.

I was sorely disappointed. The gameplay is pretty good, still like the first Chase for Adventure, but I have a lot of problems.

First, as several people have mentioned, the English is *dreadful*. I cannot get past this. I am very tolerant of poor English generally, especially as an immigrant with family members who speak only a smattering of English. I am used to broken English, but even I couldn't figure out the storyline in this due to the translation errors. Google translate could do better than this. It feels like they unearthed that old Babelfish program and ran it through that.

Second, the music is on a 10 second loop. In about three minutes, I had to mute the game. I like having the sound on, but this was just intolerable.

Third, I really don't see a need for this game to be a collector's edition. It's a gather resources/time management game, and I don't see what the collector's edition adds to it. I won't be buying it, that's for sure. I will probably buy the SE, or at least get it with a free game coupon, because the gameplay is fun, but I'm definitely not spending extra money getting the CE for this game.

Overall, I wouldn't waste your money on this, especially if you want to follow the story -- there's little chance of that happening unless you are an expert in unintelligible, bad English! Show less

The game is fine. Reasonable challenge and I usually skip the storyline anyway, but every so often I cannot click in the game and all I can do is take it off the PC and put it back on. However this is really tedious even though your position in the game is kept.

I don't recommend this game.

Everything is just wrong with this game. With the graphics and all it reminds me of an old-school game, but done in a terrible way (I usually love old-school). It made no sense where to go as there was no path (another reviewer mentioned this as well). And the sound effects? Irriating as heck!!!
