Not sure why this game got a mature content warning, because it is not scary, bloody, or creepy. There are some black shadowed ghosts that pop out occasionally that have to be defeated with your amulet, but I consider this pretty standard for this type of game.

This was a fantastic game with excellent story that is easy to follow and not too far fetched.

The devs like to make game really challenging on expert mode, so no hint, no skip, very few helpful messages, etc, and these are not really needed for expert fishies. There were a few moments where it was not obvious what needed to be done next.

Everything about this game is excellent quality except for voiceovers, which overacted in some parts.

Loved the artwork, which is high def, sharp, clear, nice to look at, esp, the art nouveau style mansion at the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game experience. High quality game throughout. Two thumbs up. Show less

Ok, this is another mother losing and looking for her daughter that was taken by a monster of some sort. Normally I quit and uninstall but not this time. This game is different because it does not give me the feeling to rush through and get over with it. I like it and am going to buy it because it is different and I am not feeling frustrated. Alicia Cole is a museum curator who finds herself the victim of a botched robbery, while working late. Her daughter Maya, was in the wrong place at the wrong time, when the thief accidentally drops the Skull of Darkness. The hard shell casing cracks, exposing the dangerous artifact, and Maya is swept away through it's evil portal, to a world beyond light itself, where only the shadows dare come out to play!

Equipped with only a Mystical Lens, Alicia will have to find a way to thwart the thieves, and use the Skull of Darkness to enter a world where K'tal delved further than anyone ever dared, in his relentless pursuit of ultimate power. In the Collector's Edition version, there are 36 Collectible icons, and they are fantastically blended into each scene, unlike some games where you can't help but see them. There are also 17 Morphing Objects within each HOP.

The Hidden Object Scenes are by far the most creative and entertaining scenes I've ever seen! Although the concepts are the same, the scenes are not. My favorite's were finding Silhouetted Shapes on three different fossil walls in the museum during an interactive tour, and finding Listed items cleverly blended on three different movie posters. In the CE version, each HOP has a Morphing Object available.

The Mini Games are unusual, and very creative for the most part. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Move the Knights in an L formation to their color coded spots.

2) Create a platform for the yellow hexagon to exit, by crossing over the exact number of symbols as indicated on the clue.

3) Open the safe using the clue you find.

4) Use the mystical lens to destroy the evil shadows, align the circles over the target and click when the two circles overlap.

5) Lead the glowing orb from point A to B by clicking on points of the path until they create a path.

6) Recreate the picture by swapping tiles using the frame as a clue.

7) Steer the car by clicking on the correct moving directional arrow when it aligns with the arrow in the box.

8) Choose the correct item related to the riddle.

9) Move parts of the picture to match the painting.

10) Select the correct images according to the clue.

11) Move the tiles to the opposite sides of the board, tiles can jump one another.

You play Research Consultant, Alicia Cole, to rescue your daughter, Maya.

This really is a good game. There is plenty to do, and I loved the HOPs and mini-games. There is:

* Voiceovers (with dialogue);

* Interactive map;
* Use of magical lens.

The graphics are gorgeous - colourful and crystal clear. It was fun roaming around each scene, not knowing what to expect next. Sound is good and the music is mainly orchestral.

The hidden object games are a blast. It also had my favourite one with the sliders at the top and side and you have to blend the pictures together. Each HOP has a morphing object to find as well - and we all know that these can be a challenge to find.

I enjoyed all of the mini-games. The two maze mini-games I liked the best as these had the most challenge. None are too hard or frustrating.

You will have the use of the magical lens which is on the bottom left of your screen. It will glow when you need to use it. Two circles pop up and you need to combine the two circles to fire. You just need a little patience to wait until they close together before you fire.

I found I didn't need to use the interactive map at all as you are only going to a couple of scenes at a time before you move on.

So, do you get the CE or SE? In the bonus game you play Maya to free the mark of the Shadow Realm, which takes another 1 hour or so. There are 11 Achievements (some with 3 circles), 36 collectible items, Treasure Hunt, ultimate HOP and puzzles.

All up the game and bonus took me about 4 hours.

Overall, an exciting game to play, however I wouldn't call it an intense thriller - more of an adventure. Its not scary or intensively plays with the mind (work does that!).

Definitely comes recommended. Happy playing fishies. Show less

I have been waiting for this type of hidden object for ages. A game that has a believable story line, HOs that don't send you back and forth for no reason and graphics that are actually nice.
This one is a little slow getting into but once you do the fun factor kicks in and this is a rather enjoyable game. Not quite a 5 star but put a half star after my 4.

Overall: Interesting game, well done graphics with great visibility and details. Not a new story but great scenes and forward movement avoiding constant back and forth, inventory objects were clear and both sounds and music were good. Characters well developed and designed, décor a mix of art deco, Egyptian and modern, seen some of this mix before I think. Daughter’s script and acting was a bit over the top and a little annoying, but overall well done game and content. Ending left me wondering…are they setting us up for a continuation.

Graphics: Excellent, clear, detailed and well crafted.
Sounds: Good
Music: Good

Characters: Excellent design, most voice overs were great, script writing left something to be desired, some over the top reactions and not realistic with event, especially the daughter. The rest were okay.

Hints: Excellent, fast response.
Map: Didn’t need.

HOG: Great variety, different, beautifully designed with details, might be a little simple for some but great if family oriented purchase.

Mini: Easy to time consuming. A few different ones. Actually finished some of them and I’m not a fan, so might be a little easy for those die-hard mini fans. Show less

Found the game and mini games to be different and entertaining. Level just right to enjoy without tearing my retreating hair out. Story was the typical somebody kidnapped by a something and you must save them. I recommend as a fun game to lay back and enjoy.

Now for the rest of the stuff, well, once again you’re faced by an evil entity and its minions; once again your daughter’s been kidnapped by evil entity and et cetera; once again you’ve got a magic amulet with which to fight the minions.

Oh, and let’s not forget the bag with the broken zipper —excuse me while I yawn.

Frankly, I am at a loss to understand the raves this game garnered from some of the other reviewers.

When you come right down to it, this game is nothing but more of the same old stuff we have seen and played countless times. It doesn’t matter how nicely you dress up a trite, tired story line with dazzling graphics; when all’s said and done, nothing’s changed.

My recommendation is that you save your download limit, and your money, and give this one a miss.

As always, though, my caveat is that, if you must, play the d Show less
