I have waited for what seemed like an eternity for the SE to come out and finally it did. I know how some of these series kind of deteriorate after a while, but this one lived up to all the others I have played. I really enjoyed spending the day with it. This is posted after playing the entire game.

I have waited for what seemed like an eternity for the SE to come out and finally it did. I know how some of these series kind of deteriorate after a while, but this one lived up to all the others I have played. I really enjoyed spending the day with it. AND there weren't any ghosts, goblins or witches for a change. There are the fact cards that I really enjoy. I'm a history buff and really enjoy reading them.

As always, the graphics and sound was top notch. Colors were true to life and very clear. Voice overs extremely well done and the music was not intrusive at all. It went right along with the action in the scene.

The difficulty was in several variations. I chose the custom so I could set the hint and skip buttons to the minimum. There are a multitude of hidden object scenes with some I haven't seen before. Just a little something new for me. I'm not saying the mini games were easy, but I did play or at least attempt to play all of them and succeeded with most. There is an interactive map that not only transports you to different locations, but also shows where there are things to do. I love that feature. The level of challenge for this game was right up my alley, not so hard I couldn't figure out the mini games, and the hidden objects were just challenging enough to keep me playing.

There were a couple snafus in the story, but not enough to be a game breaker. Probably if I hadn't read everything put in front of me I wouldn't even have noticed. I won't go into the story line. Big Fish does a great job setting the scene for you. It is a consistent story and takes you over the a vast part of the world.

I do believe if you will give this one a chance and at least play the demo, you will like it as much as I did. Ferdinand would have been proud. It is now my favorite game. Since it just came out today, all that is listed is the CE version, and I played the SE. Show less

Progress through the game makes sense. The objects that you find are actually identifiable as having something to do with an action you are trying to fulfill.

Art and music are both great. The minigames are some of the best I have seen lately.

All the CE bells and whistles are present. Therefore, my advice is that buying the CE is probably worth it. It should be in the list of best games of 2016. But if you don't buy the CE, you should definitely buy this game, the SE, because you will definitely have lots of fun. Show less

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, will take you to Sigiriya, Sri Lanka to find out why the agency has lost communication with an entire team of H.E.L.P field agents. These agents were deployed to supervise the restoration of a very important archaeological dig site, the site that may contain the Fountain of Youth. H.E.L.P isn't the only team trying to find this snake venom, Dario Sabas Aturnin is using his wealth and questionable ethics to obtain the age altering elixir. To make matters worse, he has hired Dana Creed, one of Sam's proteges who suddenly turned rogue, Sam warns that she is ruthless and dangerous! Hidden Expedition has another great action packed adventure in store for us, but searching for the Fountain of Youth could prove to be the age altering liquid that we won't live long enough to use.

Hidden Expeditions just keeps getting better and better, I do grow weary with the topic (fountain of youth searches) but I must admit, this one's the most interesting, the holy grail of all fountains! This game offers all the features you could ask for including Plus Sign inventory items, and scenes that allow you to pan left and right, or north and south. The Collector's Edition of Hidden Expedition has the famous H.E.L.P. box and the 20 collectible Fact Cards that give us insight with facts about the area, the why's, what's, where's and when's so to speak. The CE also has 41 Hidden Sign's to search for and a whole slew of Achievements to earn as well, either edition is fantastic and well worth the bucks.

The Hidden Object Scenes are multi-layered puzzles with a variety of styles, silhouetted shape finds, listed items, fragment finds and mini games within, the CE has the addition of a Morphing Object (17 total) but I prefer the morphs to be within the game scenes because I always forget to look for them in the HOP's usually because I'm trying to earn an achievement for finding the items quickly and without mistakes.

The Mini Games are really entertaining, but I've come to expect fantastic mini games from this series. The following are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Select and drag a fist through a maze, stopping at power points along the way, before delivering a power punch.
2) A zoom zone game where you find the correct three emojis previously seen.
3) A zoom zone puzzle requiring you to place three gears on red points on a lock.
4) A zoom zone puzzle where you find 3 numbers on a combination lock that equal six.
5) Click and drag color coded token chains of various lengths until they are in their matching color coded slots.
6) Shoot a slingshot when the red dot lines up in the green zone.
7) Create a continuous path of light by rotating arrows in the correct directions.
8) Select pairs of matching symbols by clicking on two candles at a time.
9) Spot the 10 Differences in a scene with a photo previously taken.
10) Move numbered tokens to reflect numerical order.
11) A multi layered puzzle using codes, matching tokens, sliding cylinders, moving tokens by either two or five spaces at a time choosing the correct path for a ship to sail, all as you try to escape impending danger!

The Collector's Edition has 18 replayable Puzzles, 17 replayable Hidden Object Scenes with 17 Morphing Objects within the HOS, 12 Videos and 1 Bonus Video, 12 Concept Art Pictures, 8 Wallpapers, 20 Collectible Fun Fact Cards, 41 Hidden Signs, 9 Music Soundtracks, a Souvenir Room, 13 Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! As you arrive at the site you learn that the agents have been captured so now you are on a rescue mission. It soon becomes apparent that more is going on at the site than originally suspected. Will you be able to save the agents and find out what Aturnin is hoping to find at the site? So ditch those expensive anti-aging products, you might just find the mythic Fountain of Youth as you do some globe hopping in this terrific new Hidden Expedition game!

Fountain of Youth has wonderful graphics and top-notch voiceovers. There is my favorite custom setting so I am happy. Tools include the HELP box where you will gather fact cards and other information about your mission. There is an interactive map to help you keep track of locations

After playing so many HOPA games it is not often that I am surprised by the HOPS but all I can say is that this awesome and creative development team has once again raised the bar. The HOPS are varied, interactive and many contain mini-games. I am very impressed and found the HOPS to be excellent. Not only are the HOPS awesome the puzzles are terrific and some of them are quite challenging. AGAIN, I am amazed that this developer just keeps raising the bar and creating such wonderful games. There is no need to tell you all the details of the puzzles and HOPS since discovery is more fun so I will leave it to others to let you know what to expect.

The Hidden Expedition series has always been a favorite of mine with some of the games being better than others. The Fountain of Youth is probably going to be right up there at the top of the list because it proves that this game developer keeps stretching their creativity to give us what we want in games. All that is left to do now is grab a cup of coffee and play this awesome game! Happy gaming everyone: what a great way to kick off the games for 2016! Show less

Usually, I don’t give 5 stars for games I needed 4 hours to play, however this one has not only an excellent quality but also those wonderful super-puzzle in the manner of Ravenhearst. These are my favorites.

Animation, visualization, voice-overs are simply great.
There are different type of HO’s, description, silhouette, parts, some with riddles. Clear and lucid drawn.
The mini games are well done, not too difficult, but challenging.

The locations are parted, usually you have 5-8 locations available thus the interactive map is not that important.
You can customize every aspect of difficulty, such as tutorial, map issues, sparkles at HO’s, glitter, skip / hint recharges, HO penalty, helping texts as well as contextual pointer or plus-item.

The tasks are mostly logical, I played w/o helping texts and had no problems at all. Show less

Enjoyed this game and would recommend it. I played the basic game. It was just long enough to give a pleasant game play - sometimes if a game is too long, I tend to just want to get it over with and too short and you feel a little cheated. The only downer to mention is that sometimes getting the pointer in the exact right place was a little tetchy. Would recommend this game and happy playing.

Incredible! After so many games without challenge this one is truly interesting, but not boring. The storyline is wonderful, with a great final. Very long game with an original and pretty graphics design and artwork. Seeing is believing, and it really worths your money ;)
