This game just scraped in for 5 stars as I didn't really come across any exciting new features, rather just familiar features wearing new outfits. However it also has great colourful and warm graphics, a good strategy guide, collectables, wallpaper achievements and 50 main levels and 15 extra as CE.

I am playing in timed normal..and finding even on low levels I am having to repeat sometimes although mostly it is just getting used to what's required to be rid of some enemies or what swallows my resources savagely, rather than a too tough timer. There is relax and hard mode too.

I found the first few levels a little dull, but once I got to the prehistoric levels..I loved it. Raptors that take lots of attacks to actually be rid of them..and they jump position and block what you think you have cleared. (this is an old feature from these devs in the form of a new enemy lol) It makes it really challenging. There are chests, and road clearing, wells, gems, food, gold etc and our familiar heroes all needing you to build their house for each task only they can do.

There is a numbered and written strategy guide...and at first I was really miffed and ready to slash stars as the collectable owls are not circled on either the map nor the SG! But then I realised the first words on each level guide tells you if 'there is an owl on this level'...so if you miss one at least you have some idea where it is. However I just think it would not have been too hard to at least mark them on the map so you dont have to check the guide to see if there is one on a level each time!? And without them being circled..you still may not find them anyway!

As I said it just scraped in for 5 stars as there was nothing greatly new, and the owls gave me anxiety lol...but then the gameplay is just so fun I couldn't penalise. Old friends...familiar gameplay, and great graphics..plenty of levels. So whilst there are some annoyances...the gameplay is so enjoyable....I recommend it. Enjoy! Show less

He he finally a new nice old fashioned TM game. I just love it. Same old, same old but what a relief to just click and collect and manage. I am playing in normal mode and it is very good playable. You got to love the squirrel. Yes I recommend!

I love these games and as far as i know I own them all. I also replay them. They are, to me, that good.
I always play the demo first because you never know but the demo convinced me to buy. There are three modes of play - Relaxed (untimed) Mode, Normal, or Expert Mode. There is always a lot to do and you need a strategy especially when deciding what buildings to upgrade that will do the most good. In this one there is a volcano that is causing, as usual, havoc. There are bonuses that you can execute at the bottom of the screen such as +5 food, speed up factory and they refill over time.There are the usual supplies you must pick up to clear the road. I played 10 levels on Normal and only had to repeat one to achieve 3 stars. I did not find the timer to be that tough but I am sure the further you get in the game the harder it will be to get 3 stars. To me each level is different and it is hard to stop playing. There are owls to collect (but not every level) and an extra 15 levels in the CE. I do not think you will be disappointed in purchasing this game. I bought it as soon as I finished the demo as I wanted the extra 15 levels.. Show less

Wonderful Graphics .. bright and beautiful.. so much to look at. The music matches wonderfully
Story line is good …
Looking for the owls is a hoot… haha and I just love the hedgehog with the apple on his back … so cute
Would have liked to be able to remove an arrow when clicked in error…
Oh one more thing… I’m use to it now but the colours are off a bit in the matching… around the ring is ...Show more

Love this game because it's not too easy and has a lot of levels. Difficulty and game speed can be adjusted which is great too. A bit pricey but will give you many hours of entertainment.

First of all, Viking Heroes is a really good game with great features, fun Owl Collectibles, and amazing graphics, however, all of their games lately have been really hard to earn all 3 stars on the Normal Mode without repeating each level several times. For me, this takes away the fun for a casual player because I don't see the point of playing a TM game on an Easy Mode with no Timer but I don't want to feel like a failure on every single level either! I'm not a novice player and I do very well with most TM games and I've only had difficulties with the timer on this developer's recent games. I think they need to be a little more lenient with the Normal Mode's timer or they will lose a ton of sales from fans who don't want to play a frustrating game because I have passed on purchasing the last 3 games by this developer because of this...some of which are on my personal Top 10 Favorites list!

You can play in an Easy, Normal, or Hard Mode and there are 40 Achievement rewards available. There are also 21 Collectible Owls, since they aren't available on every level, it would be nice if there was an indicator on the map as to which levels have an Owl.

This Collector's Edition version has 50 Main Levels and 15 Bonus Levels. There are 4 Wallpapers, 15 Music Soundtracks, 21 Collectible Owls, Puzzles, 40 Achievements, and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

I did love the Dinosaurs and Raptors that block your path and that you have to collect resources like water from the well to cool off lava stones before you can remove the rocks. Chests with Renewable Resource Options to choose from Food, Stone, or Wood require using strategy by figuring which tasks will require which resources.

Each level has a Bonus Bar at the bottom of the screen that can be used when recharged. The bonuses help speed up the players, adds +5 resources, speed up factory production, etc. Gems are collected to allow Helga to Cast Magic Spells and some Merchants and Stonehenge allow you to transfer resources such as Gems for Food.

The normal TM tasks are still a staple, building Quarries, Farms, Warehouses, Sawmills, Gem Mines, etc. I love that the sawmills, stone quarries, and gem mines keep producing products even when you don't gather the products immediately, they pile up with a number showing how many are available.

I would have given this game 5-stars (and purchased it) IF the Normal Mode's Timer was a little more lenient, but when I'm playing a level several times in the demo alone, it proves that it's only going to be more difficult as I progress. It really saddens me because I WANT to be able to purchase this game and play it without feeling like a loser and I have no desire to play on an untimed mode just to be playing it. The games by this developer didn't use to be this way until recently so perhaps they need to hire a Normal Player to set & adjust the timer!? I'd love to help because otherwise I will have to pass on all their TM game releases, and I'm sure there are others out there who are passing them up for the same reasons! The game has balanced, colorful cartoon graphics. It has a good variety of mood music. You can play it untimed, timed in easy or hard modes. I finished all the levels in easy timed mode with many quite challenging.

On some levels there is an owl easter egg, some very well hidden. Only the guides, as they become available, will tell you if there is an owl on the level. It won't alter the outcome ...Show more
