Normally I'm not a fan of Mahjong, however this game has six different Mahjong modes to choose from, one of which appealed to my inner puzzle geekiness! The first "Temple" you visit has the Traditional Mahjong style where you match two identical tiles that aren't blocked by other tiles. After a few levels where you can earn up to three gold stars, you will receive a Key to unlock the next Temple with a different style of Mahjong. The second Temple has Match Mahjong where you match tiles on the board with those shown in the frame at the bottom. The third Temple has Slide Mode which is the most entertaining Mahjong game I've ever played. The goal is to slide free Mahjong tiles until they bump into their matching tile to eliminate them. Now this may sound easy, but you will have to use other tiles as bumpers in order to get the tiles into position, and the 3D layers of some layouts will cause the tile to drop down instead of sliding. There's also a Rivers Mode, a Numbers Mode and a Triple Mode, but I spent the rest of my demo time playing the Slide Mode, I'm telling you it's super fun, and the first Mahjong game I've ever had to put actual thought into. This is the best mahjong game I've played in a long time! There are several modes to play that you unlock as you complete milestones in each of the different elemental temples. Also the game is untimed, and it seems as long as you match the final golden tiles, even if you have tiles left on the board, the game counts this as complete. You don't get three stars, but you get to continue on.

You don't get three stars, but you get to continue on.

At first you start off in classic mahjong. However, the other temples hold far more interesting variants.

My favorite is the "slide" method. It's hard to explain, but you must slide matching tiles next to each other in order to remove them. You have to move other tiles around in order to get to the ones you're trying to match, and it can become quite the puzzle.

With so much variety in gameplay, this one is definitely worth the price. Show less

I have to say that this is one of the best Mahjong games I've seen in recent times.

I have to say that this is one of the best Mahjong games I've seen in recent times.

The objective is to restore 6 temples to appease the Gods. Each temple has a different Mahjong variation, with three stars to play for. There's no timer so you can take as long as you like. Match special tiles to finish the board, but for three stars, clear the entire board. There are covered tiles which you can peek at, then try to remember what the image was to make matches. There are bonus tiles, treasure chests to uncover and mystery tiles.

You start with classic mode. After 4 boards are played, another temple is unlocked, and so on, so you can unlock all the temples and play whatever variation you fancy, without having to finish one temple at a time. After unlocking all the temples, I had a delightful surprise, unlocking extra content containing 333 classic boards to play!

The variations are:

Classic

Match - tiles are shown at the bottom of the screen and you need to make matches with them.

Slide - This is a new variation, a bit of a brain bender and deserves to be a game in its own right! Move tiles horizontally and vertically to make matches. They will slide until meeting an obstacle, tile or falling into a hole (that can be unfortunate sometimes, useful other times). There are special helpers and you'll need to figure out for yourself how some of them work. This is a brilliant logic variation.

Numbers - Match numbered tiles to the sum given.

Triple - Match three of a kind.

Rivers - Make matches by line linking.

There are tutorials for all the variations. Graphics are lovely, tiles are clear and a great size. There's an option on each board to change the background, tiles, colour and the shape of the tiles.

Overall, a massive game with lots of variety. Show less

I love Mahjong games, but this is the first time that I played such a game with different levels. For me it's a real challenge.

I love Mahjong , but this game took it to a new level. Some of the levels I really didn't like but some broke the mold on how you can play Mahjong. It has captivated me for months as I have little time to play games since I have a small business, but when I can it is just a great diversion. Really recommend this game

Absolutely sweet. It is all of the above, the style, the game play even the story. A must try, if you haven't all ready, you surely won't regret it. Promise...

This is a great game with many different levels, all of them interesting and challenging. The colors are vibrant, and the special effects are really nice. I absolutely love this game!

Excellent game. Different Temples, each with a different Mahjong game. I didn't like the sliders Temple, but, had to persevere, to unlock the next temple. I really enjoyed playing this game. It was smooth to play. No glitches. All good.

I definitely recommend giving it a try.
