Rainbow Mosaics Is A Definate Keeper

Have you ever been so engrossed in the one hour trial demo of a game that you are surprised by the sudden and abrupt ending to the demo? Have you ever been so engrossed in the one hour trial demo of a game that you are surprised by the sudden and abrupt ending to the demo? (and have you noticed it always ends when you are almost finished with your puzzle) Well, that's how I felt when this game ended and I scrambled to hit the "buy now" button so I could get back to the solid entertainment. I will also admit that I rarely purchase Griddler games outside of my favorite series with Mr. Penguin, so mums the word on this one, lol!

There's somewhat of a story as you join Charlotte on a treasure hunting adventure in a hot air balloon, but in a Mosaic griddler game I don't really care much about the storyline, I just want to be challenged somewhat, and I want bright colors that form a picture a can actually recognize. Rainbow Mosaics delivered all that and more, and even gives me the option to choose from several different types of filled cells, my favorite was the lego style.

There are 120 levels, and as you progress you can unlock those levels in the Freeplay mode. There are 3 types of bonuses available, the Hammer allows you to open a cell of your choice, the Rye Power opens a random right square of cells and the Grid opens a chosen area without negative outcomes. You can earn up to 3 gold stars for the usual goals of finishing the grid without hints or more than one mistake. Each filled in cell will earn you coins or bonuses that can be used to purchase upgrades of each power-up, or you can decorate Charlotte's office with comfy chairs and decor. There are Trophies to earn as well, but I just enjoy the relaxation I receive when playing a good mosaic griddler game where each puzzle is just a tad bit more challenging than the previous one. Now that my game has finished downloading I'm ready to finish the grid I almost accomplished before the trial ended, enjoy! Show less

I don't often play mosaics games because I usually find them tedious and dull. Not this one! I'm glad I took a chance to try it, because I enjoyed it so much I was shocked when the demo time was up. This is definitely a "keeper," which I have already purchased and will play more than once.

I really like the multi-tier approach to game levels; playing each level one color at a time adds to game enjoyment as well as producing a mosaic that is more attractive than those in other mosaic games. You can choose the type of tile you want displayed, as well as earn power-ups that become especially useful as the levels increase in difficulty. I also appreciate the factoids about the places "visited."

I rarely rate all aspects of a game as 5-star. This game deserves the rating. Show less

I would have bought it on the spot but I wanted to wait for Monday to buy it so that my free game coupon counted towards earning another free game! Rainbow Mosaics Treasure Trips is almost everything I look for in these types of games. It has colorful boards, lovely graphics and NO TIMER. The music does tend to be a bit annoying but I turned it down and that helps. The only difficulty I have with the game is that the number designations are very faint and difficult to see when using some of the different colors. I think the coloring on the side panels is what causes this issue and hopefully in future games this problem can be corrected. It isn’t fun to play a game that causes eye-strain and too much guessing.

Since I happen to love mosaic type puzzles it was a no-brainer for me to purchase the game. For others out there who love the Fantasy Mosaics series, I suggest that you might like Rainbow Mosaics as well. It is a well-constructed game and one I am thoroughly enjoying at the moment. Please try the demo to see if you agree that Rainbow Mosaics is a great game. Show less

I am so glad to see another developer creating these nonogram or griddler games. Rainbow Mosaics is the best of any others out there, in my opinion.

Graphics are the best I've seen and the animations move along at a normal pace and not in slow motion.
There is an actual story line that makes sense.
There are no weird translations.
Game play is smooth with no glitches, my mouse never gets ...Show more

I like that there are 3 or 4 colors involved with each puzzle.
I appreciate that you can use one or two powerups and NOT be penalized for it.
I love the way each block is counted for you as you fill in spaces; and how the rest of the rows and columns automatically complete themselves.

There is also an expert mode for those of us who want a bit more of a challenge. Treasure Trip is an absolute pleasure to play and I highly recommend it. No more Fantasy Mosaics for this girl!! Show less

I don't normally review games but just had to on this one! I'm used to playing other Mosaic games and was in two minds about whether to buy this one - I'm glad I did though! Once I got used to the different format I loved it. I found it more challenging than other mosaic games, but to counteract that there are hints to use that build up again which don't affect the star rating. It's a long game ...Show more

I am a big fan of nonograms but this isn't your typical nonogram. Yes, the goal is the same - as with other nonograms. But this one differs in several areas from the typical nonogram.

Each level has several 'layers' based on the colors used to form the picture. You can alternate between colors at any point and this really adds to the gameplay and challenge.

There are achievements to earn and powerups you can upgrade.

Each level has three goals - no hints, less than one misclick, no misclicks etc. There is an expert mode as well, but I find the normal mode to be challenging enough. Show less

not too easy, not too hard, and I ran the demo out. I totally lost track of time.

Immediate purchase.

I sure hope they put "Rainbow Mosaics: Christmas Lights" out for Mac soon!
