This is the 8th installment of the Domini games series that takes you on another adventure playing the role of a "seeker" traveling to other worlds to battle unearthly evil. You play the role of Tritta and with all your success in the previous editions of the series it's time to embark on another phenomenal journey with your sister Margaret. In the last chapter of this series Margaret had proven herself worthy and is also a "seeker" just like you. Well, almost like you...she doesn't have the experience or level of "seeker skills" that you have which makes her vulnerable. This was obvious in the last quest during your expedition to Devils Tower in 2017.
This latest adventure begins when both you and your sister arrive in Great Britain where the last edition of a unique book called "The Gates" (made from skins and spikes of an animal) is on exhibit at the British Library. In the British Library you and Margaret discover that Nigel Waterson (the librarian) mysteriously disappeared after touching the cursed book in 2004. It seems that all collector's who owned a copy of "The Gates" have all disappeared without a trace. Margaret is skeptical and believes the book is harmless and without hesitation she opens the book and cuts her finger, spilling a drop of blood on it. Immediately she is transported into another world. The Gates book only requires a drop of blood to gain access to three distinct worlds.
•The World of Order which is mythical, sunny, and harmonious.
•The World of Chaos which is fiery, destructive and full of demons.
•The World of Arena which is a link between the other two worlds. A realm were warriors fight to determine who's the strongest in a fatal battle.
You must now use a drop of your own blood on "The Gates" so that you can follow Margaret into the portal. Nigel the librarian has left clues for you in the first world to help you throughout your journey which are exceptionally useful when you encounter Aspir. Aspir is a powerful, villainous necromancer from the World of Chaos who has captured Margaret. Aspir desires power over the three worlds and all worlds in the universe but in order to gain this ominous power he needs Margaret's soul and YOURS! Will you be able to stop this menacing mad man from world domination and save your sister from a perilous demise? Find out how in this extraordinary continuation of the Labyrinths of the World saga! Kudos to Brave Giant and Big Fish for another thrilling adventure in this fan favorite series. This Editors choice edition wins major points with me for its interesting story, like the previous editions. The puzzles and mini-games reach out and grab you from the start, saving an otherwise ordinary hidden object game from the dustbin. The main game takes about 5 hours to complete and another hour and a half for the bonus chapter.Other reviewers include CE bling so no need to revisit that. I do have to give this the 5 star rating because Domini games held their own with the continuation of this wonderful series. I generally do not like to review an entire game based solely on demo, I played this jewel in it's entirety. I love the series and look forward to more releases. Cheers!
I recommend all the releases in this series:
•Labyrinths of the World: Shattered Soul (2014)
•Labyrinths of the World: Forbidden Muse (2015)
•Labyrinths of the World: Changing the Past (2016)
•Labyrinths of the World: Stonehenge (2016)
•Labyrinths of the World: Secrets of Easter Island (2017)
•Labyrinths of the World: The Devils Tower (2017)
•Labyrinths of the World: A Dangerous Game (2017)
•Labyrinths of the World: When Worlds Collide (2018)

In Labyrinths of the World: When Worlds Collide the eighth game in the Labyrinths of the World Series, you and your sister, Margaret, have been hired by a British Library as consultants in preparation for a rare books exhibition. Margaret is thrilled as she has been trying to get her hands on a rare book called The Gates, and because it has been linked to several disappearances she wants to make sure it isn’t harmful. You and Margaret are both Seekers, individuals who have a rare gift and can travel between worlds, helping to maintain safety and peace in this world by protecting it from outside threats.
As you and Margaret are preparing the books for the exhibition you learn that one rare book is missing. Something odd has happened at the museum as one of the librarians happened to disappear after finding the book, as did several of its previous owners. When Margaret finds and accidentally opens the book, she is taken through a portal and now you must follow her. Will your abilities as a Seeker help you find Margaret before it is too late?
For the most part I have stopped including technical information in my reviews as most games have the same settings. But I want to mention that this developer offers us the option of selecting between “Easy or Hard” puzzles when setting up the gameplay. Even though the puzzles offer both options, you can change it for each puzzle. The only suggestion I have for the developer is that in the Custom game selection I would like the option of setting my hint and skip time without a bottom time limit being set since I tend to be a bit impatient when I need a hint and I think 15 seconds is too long.
The HOPS are overall quite excellent but if you prefer not to search for items you can choose to play an alternate match-3 game. The first HOP scene is a very creative and well-designed story type scene. I loved this scene and had to work to find the items. I doubt that I have enjoyed other story type scenes as much as I did this one. Although the first scene was terrific it was followed by several other storybook scenes that were basically very easy. There are some additional HOPS that I think are as good as the first one so I am very happy with the game that seems to be an improvement in some respects. Although the HOPS are what I consider to be excellent, I find the puzzles to be quite easy. I have seen many of the puzzles in other games from this development team and, at least in the demo I didn’t find anything with the puzzles that I felt was different or creative. That being said, I realize that when someone plays as many HOPA games as I have over the past 14 years that it is not often that something new comes along.
If you prefer the CE version of a game this one includes quite a few extra goodies such as Collectible Statuettes, Missing Book Pages, and Crystals to find. There are also 33 Achievements, 11 Wallpapers, 32 Movies, Seller Gallery (use the crystals you find to buy items), and 5 Music Tracks. You can also replay 22 Mini-games and 19 HOPs. Other extras include the Bonus Game and a Strategy Guide.
Although I am fairly tired of the game’s evil wizard theme, I still believe it is an excellent game and one that I will add to my gaming library. Domini has created a masterpiece, IMHO. I had a lot of fun playing the HOPS and solving the puzzles. At least for me I enjoyed the gameplay factor that many will think is just more of the same old thing but when you love HOPA games as much as I do and can hardly wait for the weekly offerings, it doesn’t matter that they seem familiar. I think this game stands out at least for me because of the beautiful graphics and the very well-told storyline. IMHO, Domini has created a masterpiece. Even though I love this game, I always recommend that you try the demo to see if Labyrinths of the World When Worlds Collide is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming! Show less

I'm a big fan of the Labyrinth series, & this one doesn't disappoint. The graphics aren't as clear & crisp as they should be, but the story line flows very well. The mini-games were also good; some harder than others. the BIG plus is that instead of playing the HOP's, you could play Match 3 instead. That's not a common extra in a SE games, so another star just for that feature alone.I think that anyone would enjoy this game, regardless of your skill level. It may be too easy for those "experts", but if you're looking for a nice, casual rainy day game,, this would be a great one. You won't be disappointed. Show less

Expert mode disables Hint & skip, but allows helpful messages & plus indicators. For expert players, this is all that's needed, as 90% of actions to progress is logical. Sleuthing aspect is excellent.
This game is great value for the money and will provide challenge to both beginner & expert gamers. Show less

Really enjoyed this game from the HOs and minigames to the storyline. There wasn't a lot "rune play" that I find in a lot of games these days. I especially liked all the potion making as well. Even without a strategy guide of a Collector's Edition, I found it fairly easy to follow which was another plus. I highly recommend this game.

Your sister is sucked into a portal activated when she cuts her finger on a book. So of course, you must follow to rescue her. Once through the portal you travel thru a couple of worlds to reach the one where your sister is being held. She is to be part of a ritual that will give immortality to the villain. The pace of the game is very nice. I never got bored. I turned off the tutorial and all helpful messages so I figured out what to do next without the help of them. I usually play a game the first time with the mini puzzles set for easy, but this time I changed the setting to hard because easy made them far too simple for me. Overall I loved the game. And I know I will be replaying this one time and again. I highly recommend it. Show less

The things I didn't like is the story is macabre. A small part of the art/video isn't up to par. They put a mini-game in my hops. Some hops are interactive. I hated the circular hops so much I played match 3 and I never do that. The last chapter there are places that you can't use the map for available actions because they don't have a back arrow to go further back and you just have to go back yourself. The custom skip at it's lowest is 15 seconds which is too long.

The library seems like a perfectly harmless place to work, as long as the Book doesn't ask you to open it that is. The library seems like a perfectly harmless place to work, as long as the Book doesn't ask you to open it that is. If just one drop of blood is spilled upon its pages, you will be whisked away to worlds so magnificent, you'll never want to leave. In fact, no one has ever returned, and no one ever will, because Aspir needs their souls. Aspir needs your sister Margaret's soul, but he may not have expected a two-for-one package deal, and he certainly wasn't expecting a fight!
I loved the Labyrinths of the World games that took place within well-known landmarks (Stonehenge, Devil's Tower, Easter Island) because those areas have always had mysterious origins, who built them, why are they here, what are they for, are aliens involved. However, When Worlds Collide, is just another story about an evil sorcerer trying to take over the world, one soul at a time. The graphics are gorgeous though a little too glittery for my tastes, the story is just more of the same ole same ole, and the gameplay, unfortunately, is rather dull and lifeless. It felt like all I did was find a different method to remove one vine after another, find a piece here, put the piece there until I became overwhelmed with boredom. I did purchase the CE version on a 2 for 1 sale and discovered that my suspicions were true, there's just nothing exciting going on after the demo, and it's very predictable.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with Keywords in Sentence Finds, Interactive List Finds, and Silhouetted Shape Finds. A couple of the HOP's had several items that could match the description, which is unacceptable, especially when one of the achievement goals is to complete an HOP w/o making a mistake. There are also smaller Zoom Zone HOP's with Multiple Item Finds, and there's an alternate Match 3 game to play if you're not keen on HOP's.
The Mini-Games are available in an Easy or Hard mode, many of which are my least favorite where "one may affect others" because these types of puzzles can be downright frustrating. Luckily, most of the puzzles are easy enough to solve, even on the Hard mode setting. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Swap adjacent disks to complete the pattern.
2-Find 3 symbols shown for each paragraph on the story.
3-Create a path for the skulls by swapping and rotating tiles.
4-Slide tiles until the cogs align in the center of the board.
5-Rotate the clock's hands until no gaps remain.
6-Rotate the disks to complete the picture.
7-Arrange arrows to allow a path through all cells.
8-Move the coin to the bottom right by rotating disks.
The Collector's Edition version has 22 Wallpapers, 20 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 32 Movie Videos, 22 re-playable Mini-Games, 19 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 33 Achievements to earn, 14 missing Aspir's Diary pages (because I have a thing about holding onto paper) 15 collectible Statuettes, 66 collectible Crystals (to purchase 17 items for your room?) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter.
