The Andersen Accounts is back for another round of thrills and the tensions in Bay City are rising as the conflicts between Marked and Unmarked people start to grow. Detective Chris Andersen is on his way for a pleasant evening out with his girlfriend when he is approached by a stranger that has transformed his body parts into wood. Can you help him stop this gang of criminals before time runs out? The Andersen Accounts 2: The Price of a Life is the latest creation from the creative minds at Eipix Entertainment!
Like the first game, The Andersen Accounts: The Price of a Life is an excellent hybrid between the true-crime and the dystopian genres. The storyline in this edition may not be the most fast-paced nor the most action-packed, but it is consistently paced and the delivery is definitely impeccable IMHO. The storyline development and the buildup to the revelation leave enough room for suspense, which makes for an incredibly captivating game through and through. Eipix did an amazing job with the intricate artwork and epic visuals, along with the breathtaking musical score.
I thought the gameplay was sophisticated enough to maintain the excitement from start to finish. The hidden object scenes are creative and highly interactive, while the puzzles are fun and clever. The protagonist’s supernatural ability is put to great use and feels like a device to get the player more engaged in the game rather than just another silly gimmick. I really loved this sequel which took me about four hours to complete and it was a thrill ride all the way through. I hope Eipix continues with this series and perhaps go so far as to create another new HOPA series in this same genre. Cheers! Show less

I loved this game's storyline! It kept me engaged and interested in the characters. Gameplay was pretty straight forward & Hidden object scenes were fun and interesting and the mini games varied from easy to difficult. Overall a fun little game, the only downside is how short it was.

I thought they did a much better job with this second game in The Andersen Accounts series. I completed the entire Collector's Edition version including the BC, and today I played the Demo portion of this Standard Edition version. I'm a fan of Morphing Objects and even though I prefer Morphs to be located within each scene rather than just the HOP's as offered in the CE version, I preferred that edition over this SE because of the morphs. I was unimpressed with the CE BC so this version is probably the better choice. Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either is right for you:
Cecil Hogg has been convicted and awaits transportation to the prison he'll soon call home. Meanwhile, Bay City is in turmoil resulting from the tattoo's Cecil unlawfully inked upon those with special abilities. Those who hid in the shadows, those who went unnoticed, those who weren't identifiable until forced to bear the Mark. Chris Andersen helped to put Cecil behind bars, but Chris is no ordinary man, for he too bears the Mark of disgrace, and now someone wants him dead! Like the city itself, Chris must go head-to-head with his enemies of Super-powered criminals!
Did anybody else get a case of Deja-Vu while playing this game? (title, tattoo, turning to wood, puppet) I actually liked this game more than the first one. Mainly because the first game offered so little to do in each scene, which only had 1-2 areas of interest available. Although it's still based upon a fairy tale rendition, this game is a little more realistic and doesn't rely so heavily on fictitious characters. In the CE version, each scene has a hidden Can of Spraypaint but they are so large and obvious I wondered why they even bothered?
The Hidden Object Scenes quite frankly were located in uninteresting scenes, lacked detail, clarity, and color. Most of them consisted of a mixture of different types of HO styles or paned from one location to another. Throughout the game, there are Interactive List Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Progressive Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds, Combination Sketch Finds (A+B=?) Pictured Item Finds, Multiple Object Finds and Uncovering Matching or Related Pair Finds. In the CE version, there is a Morphing Object located in each HO scene, and you can re-play the HO scenes in the Extra's Menu to pick up any missed Morph as well as earn Gold, Silver, and Bronze Trophies and improve Accuracy.
There are a few Mini-Games that I really enjoyed playing but most of them are easily solved on the first attempt. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games that I really enjoyed:
*Place 4 image sections in the center by toggling tokens in a "Blocks" variation.
*Use directional arrows to slide token to each point the correct number of times indicated.
*Connect the dots to replicate the pattern after the reference disappears.
*Match the images with the correct corresponding statements.
*Place caps onto the path to avoid landing on police cars. (Fox=1, Pig=2, Pinocchio=3, Cat-4 spaces)
*Move tokens to recreate the image shown in an "Untangle the Ropes" variation.
The Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter takes place the morning after the Main Game's timeframe, you won't play as Chris, but any more information will give away the plot of the main game. It is an okay length consisting of about 9 pages on the Strategy Guide which is longer than any of the 5 chapters within the main game. Personally, I thought the CE Bonus Chapter was dull, uneventful and boring, but most CE BC's aren't all that great. There are 3 Hidden Object Scenes and 3 Mini-Games in the BC and you will pick up the remaining 7 Spray Paint Cans and 3 Hidden Object Scene Morphs. After completing the CE BC you can go into the collectibles to retrieve any spray paint cans you missed, and all of the CE Achievements are doable.
The Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Character Concept Art Picture with before~after dev+game characters, 9 Music Soundtracks, 9 Movie Video Cutscenes, 19 re-playable Mini-Games, 15 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 12 Achievements to Earn, 35 Collectible not-so-hidden Signs (spray cans of paint, very large) 15 Hidden Object Scene Morphing Objects, 17 Souvenirs in the Souvenir Room, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide.

I liked the modern-day story, not another of the too many fantasy games we get all the time. The puzzles and HOPs were easy and the game itself not very challenging but I enjoyed the storyline. Detective Andersen has a unique case to crack. Give the demo a try for some simple gameplay. I think it's an okay SE.
It is a shame that our TGT has not consistently been a new game lately. I'm unhappy to find an old Daily Deal so frequently now, especially when I consider all the poor quality games we seem to get on a regular basis. I think we all are disappointed more often than not when our expectations are slighted.
However, I am aware of the turmoil and uncertainty revolving around political events in Ukraine presently. Many of our developers lives and careers there have been affected and game production has slowed or stopped for the time being. Not all game creators are from the U.S. I can be more patient and understanding, BF games are not all that important when compared to what is causing the shortage of entertainment.
Hopefully, a peaceful outcome is near and things can get back to normal for everyone. Show less

Some of the HOP scenes were so dull and washed out that it was difficult to spot the required items. IMHO, EIPIX needs to return to its roots and emulate some of its earlier series and put more color and beauty into its games. To me the Andersen Accounts is simply another in a long string of EIPIX failures. End of story. Some of you might like this type of game but it certainly isn’t my cup of tea. As always, please try the demo before you buy since this game might be one you want to play. Happy gaming!

What is happening with BF? Offering old games, or new boring ones? I have been a member since 2019!
