I love love love this series. I own 1-5 (which I play over and over and over) and will also buy this one. I don't have a problem with the colours they are what they are supposed to be. I was hoping to have a new Pixel Art and here it is. Love it!!! Show less

Every Pixel Art game is full of pics that are just plain, simple little works of art to fill in with bright, pretty colors. The color palette offers a wide range of various shades of each color and the end result is always pleasing. The images in this newest collection are more time consuming due to little splashes of color all over your "canvas", instead of many large single-color sections. I like the extra detailed results.
I personally don't think Pixel Art needs any extra options or enhancements, and special cursors add nothing useful to any game. Sometimes basic tools and options are just fine. This was meant to be a game of relaxing fun without all the fuss.
The variety of pictures is always good and really are lovely because of the way the different hues are placed throughout. I own all but Number One of the series and they all run smoothly and the pics appear sharp and clear. The numbers are easy to read, thanks to the great zoom feature, and the ability to navigate across the image is very helpful. Also, I really like being able to fill in a large same-color area at one time if so desired.
The features available are handy-dandy, at least for me. And even though this is a laid-back kind of game, it does present some challenge trying to find all the pixels for a particular color. The final 2 or 3 can be frustrating, but you can move on to another one if you wish and try again later. Color switching is a great helper and (for me) makes it more fun, jumping from color to color all over the pic.
I really don't need another Pixel Art game, my others are still unfinished. But I find them hard to resist with the colorful variety of pictures offered and the no-brainer fun that awaits. Show less

It's just what it says on the box: pixel art, painting with pixels. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the digital equivalent of a paint-by-numbers game when I downloaded the very first Pixel Art game. It's just what it says on the box: pixel art, painting with pixels. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the digital equivalent of a paint-by-numbers game when I downloaded the very first Pixel Art game. I'm glad I decided to stick it out through the first few puzzles (admittedly rough because all the patterns had colors that were eye-searing 8-bit palette so familiar from the years of Windows 95) because I loved both the mindlessness and the challenge. I've bought every game since then because I know I won't be disappointed. I still have puzzles to play in Pixel Art 4 and 5, but I bought this one anyway.
Pixel Art is like a Zen meditation. It's so relaxing, a great way to reduce anxiety or stop you from overthinking after a long, stressful day at work. On the other hand, Pixel Art 1 (after I got through the 8-bit puzzles) kept me awake as my red-eye flight was delayed, and delayed, and delayed ...
So, yeah: I love Pixel Art, and if you're looking for an experience where you can simultaneously focus and turn off your brain and enjoy seeing a work of art unfold before your eyes, you'll love it too. Show less

I really like relaxing and playing Pixel Art, so it is nice to see BFG offer #6. I have also played the Paint by Numbers games that the dev also has, and there are some differences between the two. There is no hint button for Pixel Art, and it would be nice if the dev added one for future games, but don't let that keep you from trying the game. I can get a bit eager filling in pixels using my touch pad and sometimes fill in a pixel with the wrong color. If I notice this, I go back and fill in the correct color. Otherwise, if I haven't completed a color, I can zoom in and move the picture around until I find what I missed.
#6 is IMO just as good as 1-5, with just the right mix of easier and challenging pictures. If you like the first 2 pictures in the first level, try the last one in the level. If you are feeling a sense of accomplishment each time a color is checked off, then this might be a game for you.

This was the best version yet of the game. Very few puzzles that were way too simple, and lots of picturesque scenery and paintings to create.
My only wish was that there had been puzzles with more than 27 colors (and only one of those). But otherwise, great game!

I absolutely LOVE this series of puzzles. Some of the figures are simple and quick, but many require some time and concentration. It's creativity without the stress. I find them a very soothing way to unwind at the end of the day! The best was when Pixel Art 4 and Pixel Art 5 were released within days of each other. I hope there are regular releases with no end in sight!

I thoroughly enjoy this series and go back to them over and over. I love love love these Pixel Art games. There are others like them, but these by far are like painting to me and so fun and relaxing. I'm so glad they are making harder and bigger ones with scenic pictures, and more colorful ones, because the first few lacked the challenge aspect and were too easy. Keep them coming please.

I love these games still, but what happened to the bright cheerful colors of the earlier games? I was excited when the Butterfly image popped up, but I was expecting a beautiful butterfly with vivid pink, purple, and blue hues, instead, I got a butterfly with a lot of black, green and brown hues???? The scenery images were awesome too, and I get that they were winter scenes, but can't you throw in a few wild colored images too?
I'd still like to see a few options added such as an Undo button, a Cursor option of different widths, a full-color palette for the Background Colors, a full-color palette to choose the color of "shaded" current numbered pixels, and an option to save the completed images as a screensaver or wallpaper.
When I played the first Pixel Art game, I wasn't a fan because the demo portion mostly offers small puzzles with very few pixels and even fewer details. Once I purchased the original Pixel Art game and discovered that the puzzles became more intense after the demo, I was hooked and found it very relaxing and very zen. When I say intense, I just mean more intricate, because the puzzles don't actually require a lot of thought, but that's the beauty of it...it's totally Zen! The accompanying music is soothing with occasional nature sounds blended into the background to make the experience even more peaceful, with frogs and crickets chirping or the sounds of waves as they ebb and flow.
There's not a whole lot to have to figure out, it's about as uncomplicated and basic as it gets. Pixel Art is a computer version of Paint by Numbers. Each pixel has a number and you chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side, and you simply left click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color, you can hold the mouse button and swipe through large groupings as well.
There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a "fit" tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is an auto-fill feature that will fill in large groups of pixels in a particular color by double-clicking, but that feature has to recharge after each use, besides, it's more satisfying to color them yourself. The last feature is a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, it really only allows you to change the colors in shades of grey or black. It would make more sense to have an entire color scale available on a paint by numbers game though, wouldn't it?
Keep an open mind, it isn't supposed to be a brain-burner kind of game. It's a very basic and rudimentary game that's just supposed to take you out of the hectic zone for a bit, and who knows, you may find yourself aboard the Pixel Art Zen Train too. I'll save you a seat!
