I absolutely love these games. I buy all of them and will continue to do so. I think they have improved on them since the first one. It would be nice if we could toggle through all the images to decide which ones we want to work on. That would be more like a real coloring book. I hope they decide to do themed games for holidays or topics that real coloring books do such as: flowers, patterns, cats, dragonflies, horses etc. That would be fun. Show less

Once again we have the option to change the color of the background with a full-scale color bar which also changes the color of the "greyed" area or highlighted area of the number you are currently working on. Unfortunately, this sort of defeats the purpose, I love the background colors, I asked for background colors repeatedly, but it still needs to have a color variation between the background color and the highlighted area because it's hard to spot the colors you are working on if they are next to the background.
I wasn't crazy about the pictures on this version at all! I couldn't even tell you for sure what the first image was, a tomato? There are 64 images available but you are forced to finish the first level before moving on to the next and the first set of images were so unappealing that I have no interest in purchasing this game based on what I see in the demo. Why do I have to finish one level before proceeding? If you won't let the player see what's in store for them when they purchase the game, you should at least place some interesting pictures on the first level!
They also made the cursor tip smaller and less bulky and you can now drag the cursor to fill in the colors on the entire board as long as you don't let go of the mouse button. This makes it much easier when there are tiny areas that are hard to spot, but there is also a Hint button that will point to any missed areas of the current color, without penalty.
There's not a whole lot to have to figure out, it's about as uncomplicated and basic as it gets. Paint By Numbers is a computer version of Oil or Colored Pencil Paint by Numbers, and actually closer to the real thing than the Pixel Art versions. Each area has a number and you simply chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side, left-click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color.
There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a "fit" tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is also a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, which now includes a full-color scale. I would love to see a "texture" feature added that would mimic different paint variations as well.
Keep an open mind, it isn't supposed to be a brain-burner kind of game. It's a very basic and rudimentary game that's just supposed to take you out of the hectic zone for a bit. ☯

It is so irritating and just plain wrong! Why should I hand over my $$, if the dev is unwilling to hand over the entire game so I can see what I am buying??
I love these art games and own most of them, in spite of this issue. I've been tediously painting my way through the first level long enough. The images are always too simple, unappealing due to color choice and they are unattractive subject matter. It makes no sense, IMO, to not change this "feature" that is so disliked by so many. I really like coloring and doing it on my PC, because of no supplies to mess with and it is very relaxing. However, this issue comprises the fun a great deal for me.
I do appreciate the cursor tip being smaller and more precise now, to accommodate those teeny little spaces. The Hint feature is great for finding those elusive spaces that always frustrate us. The Zoom Feature is my favorite. The background colors are nice but would work more to our advantage if there was more variation. There is a wide range of vibrant colors although the first level is usually not a good indication. It would be nice to have more images and add more art styles. I've never experienced any tech problems with Paint By Numbers and the images are always sharp and bright. There are many spaces that are nearly invisible but I find the extra challenge fun and satisfying, and the Hint Button comes to the rescue if hopelessly stuck.
If you don't mind plunking through the first level of images, not by choice, then you will probably enjoy this game. I don't think it is a bad game at all if you love coloring. It's a great way to relax and get away from the more "serious" games for a while.
However, I will pass until someone thinks it worthwhile to make a small change that would make a big difference. Show less

I enjoy these color by #'s but I'm not sure I want to buy them anymore. Every thing is good except the pictures, and with this the pictures are the most important. There's a few with people in them, and those are really nice, but not enough of those. What's wrong with nice scenery's, or animals in the woods etc, ?? In here there are many animals and birds, but they stand alone with way too many designs on them. And once again, I am astounded at some of the bad coloring. Does a very young child color these?? One good thing about this is that once you finish the first two levels all the other levels open up. I do wish they'd do that from the beginning, though. No way can you color two levels in the length of the demo time to see what else you're getting. I had a freebie coming and that's how I got this one. And in checking out the rest of the pictures in the other levels I couldn't believe there were so many bad ones. I don't mind coloring designs, but not when they're all over a single object. And wow...too many tiny things to color. Please give us better pictures! Show less

I have the same comments as the reviewer, Pennmom36.
The background should be a different color than the to-be-filled spaces.
I finished the first set of pictures in about 1/2 an hour, they were so easy, so was able to see what was included in the next levels. Really, it doesn't take a mental giant to figure out what to do.

I agree: One should not have to complete the first level to get to the next levels. It's like grade school. If you don't eat your veggies, no dessert.
What bothers me most, though, are the heavy black lines and the color combinations.
In order to break up an area, black lines are used. This game would be so much nicer if areas were made up of shades of the same color to give texture. I know lines do not have to be used as another program has areas without them, and what fun it is to discover what the area looks like. It isn't necessary to carve up a rabbit or a teddy bear into pieces and color 20 spots in the same area with the same color.
Also, the developer could use a colorist. Some of the color combinations are absolutely atrocious. It would be nice to have a few more natural pictures with shades of color than have orange, magenta, olive green, neon green, purple, navy blue, ochre, etc. in the same picture. I'd love to see some "easy on the eye" pictures too. One of the earlier Paint By Numbers had a lovely whale in shades of blue. Let's have more like that and less Las Vegas-like flash.

I was very disappointed in this game. I bought it W/O trying it. I assumed that it would be like games 1 thru 5. It is not. There are often no created spots to add the color; U get a blank spot where to put the color & the blank spot has a black background. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Don't follow my lead. Try all before purchasing. I trusted too much.
I don't recommend this game.

If I could give a zero, I would. The designers are getting worse. On several pictures, you color large parts of the design in the same color.
