Which is what--I finally figured out!--those "Forest Treats" you're sometimes rewarded with are for. You click on a critter, which gives you a cute description, but also allows you to Feed them and thus increase their happiness. (Which also happens when the award eggs give you the same critter more than once.)

But enough of mechanics.

This is highly enjoyable as you try to engineer each goal set for you, and mostly achieve them by canny play--and occasionally miss despite canny play, which I consider a bonus. A good mix of luck and skill, like card games, vs. the skill-alone heights of chess!

But I really could do w/o the Peanut Gallery chorusing "Yay!!" every single time I earn an award ticket. At least I can turn off the bouncy music, tho I'd really prefer just to turn it way, way down, as I do for my other games whenever possible. Show less

I loved the strategy involved with this match 3 game. It is plenty to do besides playing for a 3 star game. In order to get more valuable eggs to hatch you need to achieve the gold star by playing a round with a given amount of moves.

I loved the strategy involved with this match 3 game. It is plenty to do besides playing for a 3 star game. In order to get more valuable eggs to hatch you need to achieve the gold star by playing a round with a given amount of moves.
The different ways to score besides M3 are by watering the plants combining three blue water tiles to generate fruit on the green plant tiles and placing an animal brown tile near by or by making bigger matches you will gain extra moves. You also have power ups to manipulate board and score higher. The power ups are earned by cashing in golden tickets you achieve outside the game or by completing tasks in the game.
If you don't score big you still will get more common animals with bronze star but to progress game and move out of first stage which is the old grove you will need to hatch a certain amount of animals. You can pet them or feed them to get a heart happiness reward when bar fills up.
Golden tickets are rewarded for completing tasks in game or happiness of animals on home screen. Stuart the tree will cash your golden tickets and give treats to feed the animals or power ups to use in game or a new skin tile for the brown animal tile, green plant tile or blue water tile.
The only problem is manual setting the graphics and resolution. This can be changed with the automatic pop up when starting the game. I don't know why it wasn't inserted into options. I could not find my resolution for 1024x768 so i had to use the 1280x720 which cuts a bit off the playing screen and can only see slightly the amount of moves left and score, but the playing field was not affected so it did not alter my buying the game. Also you need to change default "fast" to slower speed in order to read game hints that pass on screen. I used beautiful and was able to read ok. Default was fast and was missing game directions. Elements of this game remind me of the game 2048. I like to use games like this and M3's as a break from other games that usually take me a while to complete (TMs and HOPs). I never rush through games since I'm retired and time is on my side. I read the reviews, the BF description, watched the BF video and then gave it a try. I understood 90% of it so after I played the demo for 30 minutes, I went back to Pennmom's review for more detail - mainly about the use of the ticket. Then I played the remainder of the trial version. I'm going to purchase it to help fill out my punch card before the end of the month. One thing I strongly agree with in Pennmoms review is that some of the information is on and off the screen way to quickly. One item told the best use of the brown soil tiles, but it was gone in a flash before I could read more than the first few words. Big mistake on the part of the developer. Why does a developer think they know how slow or how fast a gamer reads? I'm a fast reader and I still couldn't read all of their information. This game and the recent DotSee are both somewhat different and I've been happy to see both of them; purchased both of them. Show less

Even I will admit that this is a cute game and it is fun for a little while but towards the end of the demo I was getting kind of bored. It was one of those games where I was wondering when the demo would end, rather than being surprised by the demo's ending, I think it would be a fun phone app to pass away the time when you aren't at home on the computer,

Basically, the game is simple, although the directions are pretty vague and some important features are passed up too quickly to read because the game moves on to the next feature before you've had a chance to absorb a pop-up that just explained a new feature, such as a power-up.

You simply drag columns or rows until you can align groups of at least 3 identical cells. Those cells include dirt cells, grass cells, and icons like trees, water droplets, foxes, and frogs. They don't have to be aligned in a row either, they just have to be in groups, and the icons have to be the same size (some grow as they get matched & watered). You have a limited number of moves to earn up to 3 Stars, but I found it impossible to earn all 3 stars without using the 3 Boosters (rainstorm, place trees or foxes on the board)

Matching Blue tiles waters the tiles next to them and making sure foxes are nearby to eat the fruit that will grow on trees when watered will earn extra points. Each time you match a group of icons or they get watered, they get bigger. Each level has specific quests that need to be fulfilled of collecting a specified number of specified tiles in specified sizes.

After each level you will earn a Ticket...how ecologically friendly is that lol! This ticket is then given to Stuart the Gift Tree who gives you a gift at the following odds:

*Item Pac: x3 -57.8%
*Item Pack: x10-19.5%
*Item Pack: x20-11.7%
*Forest Treat: x3-6.5%
*Forest Treat: x10-1.3%
*Tile Skin: 1% (the odds are slim to none?)

There is an option to Customize the Tiles (Red Fox, Apple Tree, and the Pond) by getting new skins as rewards from Stuart but the odds are set at 1% to receive new skins and there are several slots available to customize the tile color options so I don't forsee that happening? Show less

I completed the demo, it was kind of fun and cute.
