The water's safe. There be no monsters there, just great images with a variety of a few simple ones to ones with lots and lots of details and colors.

As usual, I had to complete Page One before I could see the rest of the images in order to write this review. Man, I am so tired of that restraint that T1 Games forces on us.

As usual, I had to complete Page One before I could see the rest of the images in order to write this review. Man, I am so tired of that restraint that T1 Games forces on us.

On viewing Page One I thought, "Great! A new artist has been assigned to this edition." You see, page one is rife with colors and details.

But no, it's the same artist who, *thank heavens*, is finally getting the idea that serious work is needed to produce a game that we are willing to buy.

We are still given that particular shade of icky white favored by the artist, but fortunately there is only one image that includes a human face to creep us out. When will "Paint By" learn that he/she cannot draw people???

There are only 3 things left for "Paint By" to improve upon:

1. Get somebody else to draw people.
2. Change that icky, dead white to another shade of white.
3. Find a theme. Suggestion: go over to Desktop Nexus to find the most popular wallpapers, then wrap a theme around those types of design.

For those of us who love Paint By, Art By, and Modern Art, try the game, buy the game, ENJOY. Show less

All you can manage to finish before the free trial time is done was a few on first page...These were repeats from other puzzles... the only original was the peacock...I enjoyed doing that... I believe we are all looking for originality.. still portraits ... normal looking animals... Seasonal...Fall...halloween...
thanksgiving...Christmas..these conglomerates are a pain in my book..they bore me... ...Show more

the most important change also would be to allow you to go freely from one page to another without having to complete the one page to get to the other... Show less

because it actually improved a little. Can you believe it? The 64 images can all be viewed by completing the last one in each level so I did that, hoping to find something positive.

Although many were again centered on the screen, there were quite a few more elaborate ones this time. Also a counter under the scroll shows total number and total remaining of the color being used, which is a great feature. The color wheel always a big help. It changes the background color and the numbered areas in the images, making them easier to spot.

Some pics sported a huge number of colors but they still ended up being "lifeless". Very poor color combos made them dull and uninteresting. For example one pic had 68 colors, 41 of which were various shades of boring brown. Paint By Numbers colors are always ugly plus the heavy black lines should be much thinner or, better yet, be eliminated. The lines and flat, dull colors compromise the quality.

The subject matter is more varied this time but still too many are juvenile. I would appreciate a more mature assortment to keep the artist in me entertained. Everyone has different tastes so the devs should offer a better balance of challenge. Can't really do without the Hint and Zoom Features. The almost invisible specks of color hiding right under my nose would be impossible to find. This annoys me, forcing me to "cheat" too often. Many times the colors don't take hold, multiple clicks are required which is so frustrating.

Even though Paint By Numbers12 is a bit better, more creative thought and a sharper talent for color is needed. In their eagerness to make $$ I think some devs skip over the quality and whip out these games, focusing only on earnings. The result is never good. I'm sticking with my fave Art By Numbers. Also check out Modern Art. You will quickly see the difference between quality and the mediocre Paint By Numbers.

Even though I am critical, I realize the appeal of this series to many others. Everyone has different tastes and what elates one will ruffle the feathers of someone else. This style of art is great if the subject matter is varied enough, elaborate images are imaginative and the color palette is vast and beautiful. Let's hope for more changes or a different style from this dev. Show less

This developer really needs to invest in a graphics artist if they want to sell more games because once again these are just single images slapped in the center of a grey square. This developer really needs to invest in a graphics artist if they want to sell more games because once again these are just single images slapped in the center of a grey square. The images couldn't be more unappealing, even if they included the background in the image (the ability to paint the entire scenery, not just a small picture of a fish out of the water) they still wouldn't be pretty because the color choices of olive greens, browns, blacks, and shades of ugly oranges just don't pop like other painting games. It's not just about image selection...it's about color selection too, even uninteresting images can be beautiful when the right colors are chosen! To make matters worse, the images include unpaintable huge black lines and various shapes to complete the picture, making the completed image look like a child's drawing...why??? The black lines would look better as a fillable color!

There are 64 images available but you are forced to finish the first level before moving on to the next. Why do I have to finish one level before proceeding? I did complete the first 10 levels and it appears that the rest of the images are basically round or oval shapes that I believe were intentionally designed to represent stained glass pictures. Honestly, they probably just designed it this way because it would take minimal effort to code these basic graphic images into the program!?

They did make the cursor tip slightly smaller and less bulky and you can now drag the cursor to fill in the colors on the entire board as long as you don't let go of the mouse button. In other words, as long as you left-click & hold before dragging a color, only the current number will be filled in, all other numbers will be ignored until you release the mouse button. This is a painting game...so it would be nice to have some actual paintbrush tip options ("options" is the keyword here as in more than one) There is also a Hint button that will point to any missed areas of the current color, without penalty if you don't feel like swiping over the whole board to catch missed areas. Speaking of swiping, you will probably have to swipe over the smaller sections numerous times before the color is added, some of the tiny areas seem to require clicking on a very specific area versus simply swiping across them!

There's not a whole lot to have to figure out, it's about as uncomplicated and basic as it gets. Paint By Numbers is a computer version of Oil or Colored Pencil Paint by Numbers. The only difference is that in real paint by numbers artwork, the colors are vivid and each adjacent color has a sharply contrasting color resulting in a very beautiful and colorful finished painting. Each area has a number and you simply chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side, left-click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color.

Unlike most other paint by numbers games, this series has minimal options. There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out as well as a "fit" tab. You can move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging, and there is a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background as well.
It's abundantly clear now that this developer is only interested in making a quick buck rather than improving each game moving forward to give customers what they are asking for. At first, the games were unique but now other developers are jumping on the Paint by Numbers bandwagon and they have built a better mousetrap so to speak. Even the series' that are brand new have tweaked different features every time which shows they care, and to me, it shows that they have heart and would rather create fewer games with better quality versus mass producing games with crappy quality!
