Today's release has all the same features and I have all the same compliments. And the same complaint, which is, having to complete the first level in order to move on. So aggravating! I don't understand why the devs are so stubborn about removing this feature.

Today's release has all the same features and I have all the same compliments. And the same complaint, which is, having to complete the first level in order to move on. So aggravating! I don't understand why the devs are so stubborn about removing this feature.

The first set of images, however, were a nice improvement over past selections. So it wasn't so tedious getting them done this time. There was a better variety of subject matter in each level. Not so many buildings and trees, less food, just a few cutesy images. And I was really happy to see more color! It makes such a big difference. I don't think everything has to be bold and bright. but soft color variations and subtle hues are so pretty, especially with the different textures.

The demo was enjoyable, but I stopped upon finishing the first level in less than 30 minutes. Yep, I was in high gear so I could check out all the other images. Because there is no challenge, the 64 images are gone too soon. I have to force myself to work at a slower pace.

Modern Art is a wonderful series. The "painting" is very relaxing and beautiful. Anyone who loves art can enjoy this stress-buster with no mess to clean up, which is always a plus. The kids might like it too. I think it's a great way to see how colors, detail, textures combine to make a piece of art instead of just a flat lifeless picture. Show less

REAL GREAT AS USUAL FROM THIS COMPANY BUT WOULD LIKE TO NOT HAVE TI FINISH FIRST GROUP BEFORE CHECKING OUT THE REST

when you first start this game you think OMG another thats better for under 5s but bare with it gets better as you go on and more challenging. i have given 4 stars as graphics let the game down. biggest con you cant look at other levels and pictures so i have had to make a leap of faith and hope that the challenge get better and better luckily i have lots of credits others may not

I recommend this game!

These games are ones I used to always pass up but played one a while ago because I couldn't find anything else that day. I was surprised how relaxing and enjoyable I found it. This one has very detailed pictures, nice textures and colors and designs. I'll buy this (probably wait for a sale).

this game is like coloring in a painting. the colors and all are not as bright as some of the other paint games

There are a ton of pictures where there is just a single image slapped in the middle that doesn't allow you to paint the background. When it comes to a "painting" game, images are everything and if the images aren't appealing, nothing else matters at that point. There are a ton of pictures where there is just a single image slapped in the middle that doesn't allow you to paint the background. It's a painting game, why on Earth would you not take advantage of the entire scene?
There are 64 images available but you are forced to finish the first level before moving on to the next. I still don't understand this concept, why do I have to finish one level before proceeding? I'm sure everyone would like the ability to pick and choose from any level, at the very least, allow us to see all of the available images even if we can't paint them because they are still locked! This scenario only makes me suspicious that the rest of the images are worse.
Each area has a number and you simply chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side. There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (as well as a "fit" tab) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging.
I love the textures available in the Modern Art series and this would be a 5-star game if they would simply add some must-have features and better image selections. This developer is truly struggling with pictures and interesting color choices so it would be wise to seek out an artist or two for some better insight. However, after trying it out, it is the same old hold the mouse down and sweep over the screen to reveal the colors. Where is the challenge here? Even on the more complex pictures, all you have to do is enlarge a section of the pic and sweep the mouse until all the colors are filled in and then move on. This game requires absolutely no skill.

That being said, the textured colors do give the pictures a more realistic beauty, and I suppose if you just want to hold down the button on your mouse and sweep it across your screen and find it relaxing, then this game is definitely for you. I personally prefer more of a challenge. Show less
