This game is pretty sharp. It is relaxed and a good pace if you are just in the mood to swap 3s and solve a mystery. Not every player desires a gut twisting timer to cram every move in or the frustration of limited moves. Its great that devs mix things up and try to reach different audiences with different games. this is a cute game....easy, fun, and no timer..however..for those who must have a timer..i think that it should be offered. and the music is the best thing about this game...have fun people.

I agree with other reviewers that this game seems a little boring at first, but once I got into it, I had a jolly good time and was surprised when the demo time was up - I thought I already owned it! :D I love it when that happens.

The dialogue is just right - I thoroughly enjoy the detective's attitude and wit. Were I his partner, I would spend a lot of time grinning.

The storyline does keep you in suspense as you can never be sure about what or who our hero is going to run into next, or what on earth is going on in this cursed (is it really cursed, or...?) little town.

Though I feel bad for those who need the timer to enjoy M3's, relaxed mode is my favorite way to play this genre. That being said, I do agree that there should be a choice, and I'm a bit confused as to why the dev studio didn't add the extra bit of programming.

All in all, I picked up Gaslamp 2 and will demo the first in the series, Gaslamp Cases: The Deadly Machine. It's linked at the end of the synopsis. Show less

I thoroughly enjoyed this game...the storyline made better sense than in #1; visuals pretty good but sometimes hard to see items in black squares if background is dark; challenge was a bit tough in beginning when you didn't have enough points to buy bonus items but once you could get some of the bonuses it was easier to finish each panel. I read several reviews about dislike for the music but I was impressed that the developer at least alternated the music with each panel. My only complaint about the music is that the one with the violins that play up to high notes at the end of the sequence is a little too screechy....if I were the composer I would change the last few bars and either end on lower notes or take some of the violins out of those bars. As for the level of challenge, it might be a little difficult for someone just starting this series; I replayed the first two panels just to get a feel for the game. I'm at the intermediate level but had one panel I had to restart twice! Looking forward to another Gaslamp. Show less

this game has a story attached to it. i love this kind of game. you are trying to solve the mystery of the spirits invading the land. your companion from the 1st game, jack, is back. you do get hints is you take too long to find a match and an auto shuffle if there are none.

I recommend this game!

I played all three demos of Gaslamp Cases but only bought this, the second one in the series. It reminds me of Rat and Louie, which is an older match 3 game, but with the same type of graphics, gameplay and style, and with an abundance of food tiles!

I love the story line and atmosphere! Remind me so much of classic detective games at 90s.
The gameplay is relaxing and soothing music.
But there is no time limit, sadly.
Already bought it for killing my time.
