Why wouldn't you love colorful pictures of food! Always having a color to look for is a good thing when putting a puzzle together.

Why wouldn't you love colorful pictures of food! Always having a color to look for is a good thing when putting a puzzle together.
My issue is not the subject of the puzzles, it is that you cannot choose the amount of pieces you want for each one. A lot of the pictures I would have loved to make only contained 12 pieces. Adding to that frustration is the fact that you do not have a free working surface because the puzzle pieces themselves are in the way. It would not be so bad if you could actually work from the 'tray', but as soon as you put 2 pieces together, they drop to the puzzle surface, again filling in your work space, that you have to empty again! Having more than the 1 tray would be nice.
There is also a bit of frustration when turning the pieces. They seem to turn more times than you click, quite often.
I loved the pictures of food. When you like making puzzles, it is not about the end result, it is about the fun of putting it together. Having a clear working space would have made it that much more fun! If you could choose the difficulty level that each contains (how many pieces and rotate or not) I would buy it even without the 'free working space'. Show less
I recommend this game!

I must say if I could just get a straight review from someone, anyone I would know what the general consensus was. I am more interested in knowing what the content of the game is before I download it. Lately. however it seems most reviewers are just into seeing who can put out the best insults.... I might have to consider going to a friendlier site.
I don't recommend this game.

Once again, we get another worthless puzzle game by the same developer who mass-produces cookie-cutter games at a break-neck speed. Just when I thought they couldn't possibly offer a game with more uninteresting images than the last game, they prove me wrong! This game is chock-full of ugly, uninteresting, staged pictures of food...you heard me right, this is a jigsaw puzzle game based entirely on food, 100 jigsaws for Breakfast, 100 jigsaws for Lunch, 100 jigsaws for Dinner, 100 jigsaws for an Afternoon Snack, and 100 jigsaws for Supper! Why on earth would someone want to pay for 500 puzzles of nothing but food, has BF run out of games to offer?
If any of the images offered in this computer version was a real, physical retail boxed puzzle, sitting on a shelf in the puzzle aisle of the store, it would still be sitting there 20 years later, until some kind employee decided to show it some mercy and throw it in the recycle bin! Even if they put a huge sign on it that said "Free To A Good Home" it would be declined by even the most desperate puzzle geeks, bored out of their mind during a Covid lockdown!
You know the drill, nothing ever changes, nothing ever will. There are Achievement Trophies to earn and a Top Scores leaderboard. There are no options to access any of those features to find out what achievements you are striving to achieve. You can save your puzzle progress but you can't save the completed puzzle image nor can you download the image as a screensaver or wallpaper, but then again, who wants wallpapers of food?
There is a box to store extra pieces, but there are no options to categorize, label, or sort these stored pieces, nor is there an option to fetch or retrieve certain pieces because you can't sort and label these stored pieces. The current sort option simply scrambles the pieces to the correct area, such as the top, bottom, right, or left side which feels like you're cheating...that makes no sense? Wouldn't it be nice to have the ability to sort them by the correct rotation, color variations (zebra stripes, blue sky, green grass), or the shape of the puzzle piece? At least it gives you the option to choose the Border pieces separately, but there is no available option to sort the border pieces by shape or color.
There is an option to post a Pictured Image of the puzzle you are working on which also allows you to choose three different sizes of x1, x2, or x3. You can also opt to Ghost the Image on the Background (the puzzle is assembled on top of the ghosted image) It doesn't, however, give you the option to choose the Opaqueness of the Ghosted Image to make the image more or less visible, depending on how difficult you want the puzzle assembly to be. The "ghosted image isn't "ghosted" it's simply a large, stationary picture.
There is an available Magnifying Glass to enlarge sections, as well as a Hint feature in case you get stumped. You can easily become "stumped" because the puzzle connection tabs connecting two pieces together, never appear as an actual match (the tab on puzzle piece A looks nothing like the opening in puzzle piece B) most of the time the colors don't even appear to match up because they are using cheap software. You can also choose the Resolution, opt for a single Custom Cursor (a tiny cursor at that!) or change the color of the background to a pastel shade of Pink, Green, Blue, or Gray. Even though they are pastels, these basic color options tend to be too dark with most of the puzzles, so being able to adjust the intensity of the background colors at the very least, makes sense, doesn't it? Here's a fun fact: Even the oldest monitors can EASILYdisplay 16,777,216,256 different colors, yet we are only given an option of Four of those 16,777,216,256 colors to choose from as the background color!
Any Puzzle offered can be modified with Size options, the Shape of the puzzle pieces, and whether or not you want the pieces to Rotate, but even then, it's not optimized to allow you to assemble a puzzle much bigger than 300 pieces. A 300 Piece Puzzle purchased off the shelf would be labeled for ages +5 five years old and up! There's an old jigsaw meme that says "I just completed a puzzle in one week and the box says 2-5 years"...great motto for Jigsaws by this developer?
Once you complete a Jigsaw Puzzle, you're done, the party's over, you get about 2 seconds to admire your work before the image disappears and the stats pop up...probably for the best! Just walk away and come visit me on my new forum thewoodsforum.boards.net Show less

The 5 categories are Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Afternoon Snack and Supper. For me, it is 500 unappealing puzzles that are 499 too many! But it is to be expected from 8 Floor! They never deliver quality games and probably never will. Each game is a disappointment with uninteresting puzzles and the same boring features year after year. This dev is lazy, lazy, lazy! They obviously don't care about the poor reviews, as no changes are ever made. What is it about 8 Floor that is so hard for BFG to resist? Please, just say no and bring us the ambitious devs with their beautiful puzzles and fun features.
This set of puzzles will be sure to please many food enthusiasts, cooks, chefs, restaurateurs. The puzzles are very colorful with all sorts of edibles and table layouts. There are a few people here and there but they add nothing special to the staged settings.
I always try the demos, hoping to see something new and worthwhile. But seems things will forever remain the same. However, check it out. Maybe, unlike me, you will find 500 puzzles of food and more food to be the perfect addition to your jigsaw collection. Show less

Reminds me of the song from Oliver and if you are looking for a bit of variety, do not even bother downloading this game.
There is the odd image of a garden table etc and a few people but all with food connections.
If you are on a diet which a lot of us are then this is not the sort of game to play.
As for the game mechanics it has so beautifully been explained in other reviews.

The only thing I will add to this is I found you need to be very precise in fitting the pieces in, well for me anyway I had to get the piece exactly over the spot to fit, they don't seem to fit smoothly which I did find annoying.
As always try the game out and see what you think and maybe next time we will get 500 puzzles on transport ! Show less
