I look forward to the Paint by Numbers, when they come up on the BF calendar. This one is not at all disappointing.
I don't understand why others complain, when this is a simple and fun game. I find it to be relaxing when I'm filling in the pictures-the cats are my favorite.

This is fairly simple, it does go quickly, the images are bright and fun - sort of stained-glass/mosaic looking.

Honestly this is a great game for young or old that appreciates simplistic designs. And it stays consistent throughout, so if you want more complex fill the whole page, make us work at it images go to the Modern Art series...knowing even then you will get simplistic designs thrown in just to fill slots. That's what we should be complaining about..finishing mountains and buildings and forests only ...Show more

I mean no disrespect to this developer with my rating, and I appreciate that this developer finally added a couple of new features, but in the end, it's still a painting game that doesn't allow you to paint the entire scene. Picture after picture, all we get is a simplistic image centered in the middle, most are just designs in an oval or circle shape with thick black lines separating the colors.

This is a painting game so why on Earth don't any of the images include being able to paint the entire scene...even if it's just an abstract design? I've been saying it for a while now, this developer really needs to invest in a graphics artist or have someone else choose the images and colors while he sticks to the coding and development aspects of the game if he really wants to "draw" in more fans, a.k.a. paying clients! A painting game needs to have interesting images, more importantly, the colors need to pop with vibrant colors, if the colors have a wow factor, the painter won't mind an uninteresting image as much.

A great idea would be to create each game with a theme (make sure to include the theme in the title, such as Paint by Numbers: Dragons-or Paint by Numbers: Wildlife) It would be even cooler to tell a story with those images, for example, a Dragon themed game could begin with a detailed picture of a dragon egg in a nest with an intricate background with wild and crazy colors. The next picture would show the baby dragon perhaps learning to fly? There doesn't have to be a single word added to tell an epic story, and you already make us finish the pictures in one level before proceeding to the next so the story scenario would totally work (I'd love to help!)

There are a couple of new features. They have finally included a Cell Count Tab, the first one shows how many cells are available in the currently selected color, the second tab shows the total number of cells for the entire image and it keeps track of your progress. (for example 12/50) They have also added a Freeplay Section which allows you to choose your own colors. This sounds like an amazing addition but the Freeplay section isn't very Freeplay-friendly! You have to complete the image in the main game before it becomes available in the Freeplay section. The color selection is limited, you have to click on the individual color cells available, in other words, it's not like a color wheel that allows you to move a cursor around to create a custom color with billions of color combo choices :(

They did make the cursor tip slightly smaller and less bulky and you can now drag the cursor to fill in the colors on the entire board as long as you don't let go of the mouse button. In other words, as long as you left-click & hold before dragging a color, only the current number will be filled in, all other numbers will be ignored until you release the mouse button.

Again, this is a painting game...so it would be nice to have some actual paintbrush tip options ("options" is the keyword here as in more than one) There is also a Hint button that will point to any missed areas of the current color, without penalty if you don't feel like swiping over the whole board to catch missed areas.

Paint By Numbers is a computer version of Oil or Colored Pencil Paint by Numbers. The only difference is that in real paint by numbers artwork, you get the option to choose colors that are bright and vivid, and each adjacent color has a sharply contrasting color (with very thin black lines separating the colors) resulting in a very beautiful and colorful finished painting. Each area has a number and you simply choose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side, left-click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color.

There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out as well as a "fit" tab. You can move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging, and there is a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background as well.

There are a ton of Painting games available nowadays with way better graphics so they have built a better mousetrap so to speak. BTW: I'm always willing to help devs, especially my beloved Indies!

I don't care how many pieces of a colour are left or how many I have to paint in the whole image. I find it distracting to know there are still 13 parts I can't find. I do care that I can change the background colour to make missing parts easier to see. Not bothered if its a brush or just the cursor either.

I often start at the highest number in a picture and work backwards, just to mix things up. I tend to miss out those images that are more cartoon-like and stick to the real images. I guess I'm more Turner and less Dali. Show less

All we have in the end are a bunch of oval and round shapes that are flat, uninteresting images that belong in a child's coloring book. The new Freeplay option isn't even fun because it limits the colors you can use and you have to complete the picture in the main game first. Without the freedom to choose any color we want, it is hard to get creative with our "own thing" and really let our imagination loose.

Competition is taking over big time with better features, a wider, more interesting variety of images, gorgeous colors. There is no reason for me to purchase something inadequate just for the sake of adding another paint game to my collection. As Pennmom mentioned, why not bring an artist on board with the creative talents to get the job done right?

If you love the easy-breezy painting experience offered in Paint By Numbers and are just looking for something to pass some free time after a crazy, busy day this game will do nicely. Even the kids will have fun with it. And no mess to clean up! Show less

I have as many as there is this series...and it seems they have become repetitive and more juvenile... no challenge and some are very disappointing... REAL animals with REAL colors...would be a novelty... holiday and seasonal...bizzare designs with no meaning others mostly of simple flowers... why not mountain scenes or desert...with Natural colors...why all the bizzare colors...
