Never fear for Elf is here, well he was sitting right on this shelf a few minutes ago, hmf? Never fear for I will Spring Santa from doing serious Time, as soon as I find a way to bake a key into these Sugar Cookies, as soon as I do, I'll dash through the snow on a one-horsepower Christmas Equine. Let's just hope my trusty steed doesn't get spooked by Krampus pudding!

The Collector's Edition bling isn't as impressive as last weeks game and there's only one item per scene which is a little disappointing because I love the Yuletide Legends series the most out of all the Christmas oriented HOPA games. There are three different types of collectibles though, Characters, Puzzles, and Gingerbread Men Cookies. There is a Present Icon on the Inventory bar that closes when the collectible has been found, and the good news is that there are no Gadgets or Helpers! The CE Bonus Chapter takes us on a mission to cure Santa playing as Tinsel the Elf.

The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with Interactive List Finds, Progressive-Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds, Multiple Item Finds and Keywords in Sentence Finds. Most of the scenes have a Morphing Listed Item that must be clicked on in the correct form. The objects are fast-morphing and the listed text morphs on the inventory bar as well which makes it difficult Not to spot. There is an Optional Monaco Card game available.

The Mini-Games are fun but should be more Christmas-themed in my opinion. They are all fairly easy and many of the games are the same type which disappointed me somewhat for lack of originality. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the game:

1-Use directional arrows to navigate & find landmarks on a map.
2-Find matching pairs of keys.
3-Find and replace items within a book.
4-Select pins in the correct order by trial and error.
5-Select colored buttons according to the color-coded number clues.
6-Surround the Elf by trapping him on a honeycomb style grid.
7-Arrange the presents so that no row or column has matching presents.
8-Spot the differences between pictures.
9-Surround the Gingerbread Man from escaping.

This Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art Pictures,5 Music Soundtracks, Movie Cutscene Videos, 8 re-playable Mini-Games, 8 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 20 Achievements to Earn, 28 Christmas Collectibles (8 Gingerbread Men Cookies, 8 Character Figurines, 12 Puzzles) 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!

This is based on the demo. I was pleasantly surprised at the challenge that this Christmas game offered. Even the HOPS were difficult... and I consider myself an above average player. The storyline was interesting to me because the character of Krampus is such a unique being. It's nice to see him as the villain. I LOVED the "Barney Fife" cop at the police station! The elf's voice was sort of annoying, but at least he is not a helper within the game. Overall, the graphics are bright and colorful (as a Christmas game should be), the sound/voices were good and the game play was challenging. Fun Factor? 5 STARS! I have read other reviews saying this was a long game, so I will assume that it is... even though there are very few chapters. I'm looking forward to continuing the journey that this game will take me. As always, try to demo for yourself. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Merry Christmas y'all from Tennessee! The world is crazy enough without losing Santa! This demo was so much fun and very busy. A great storyline that was quick-paced and easy to follow. I enjoyed every minute!

The puzzles were kind of easy but very enjoyable. The city map puzzle was unique, liked it. The HOPs were the best, challenging, highly interactive with a task required to find and remove item from your list. Most of the them had morphs and some even had puzzles to solve. There is a Monaco game to play if you don't like HOPs, The game was actually fun, but HOPs are always my choice.

This lovely Yuletide Legends has a vintage feel to it, even the quality of the HOPs, the abundance of activities, the family friendly puzzles, the scenery. Retro is definitely good, I wish more devs would take interest in producing games like this. We need them, IMO. Who Framed Santa breaks the monotony of our usual Christmas games in a very happy way, at least for me.

There are achievements to earn, I think there is a different collectible in each scene, morphing items in the HOPs, custom game settings. The music is pleasant throughout. I like the unique way we are informed about finding the collectibles in each scene. I'm sure glad other reviewers will be filling you in what I missed here. Lots to cover, even though I think some reviews are too informative and leave nothing to surprise (but you always have the choice of reading or not). I think our reviewers are really important in helping us make wise shopping decisions.

Well, I am anxious to discover what unhappy, grinchy soul framed Santa. We don't want to delay Christmas until next year, so let's get busy and solve this case. I highly recommend this sweet game for players of all ages. I wanted to purchase 5 minutes into the demo, 90 minutes didn't seem long enough this time. Thank goodness a good sale will be upon us soon.

I really enjoyed this game! The length of game play in the main game alone was way better than other Christmas games. The visual was great and it had a storyline that you could follow easily.

OVERVIEW: As Brigitte Woolf, Yuletide detective, you are hoping for a peaceful, crimeless holiday season. However, your wishes are dashed when Mr. Claus informs you that Santa has been accused of stealing presents from a local mall. The local police believe that Santa is not who he says he is. Instead, they feel he is a criminal dressed up in a Santa suit. Coupled with this tragedy, Santa has lost his voice, stolen by same thief who stole the presents. Can you find the thief and save Christmas? Time is of the essence! Santa must be freed before Christmas eve or his reindeer will not be able to fly until next Christmas!

OPINION: I LOVED playing this game! This is a glistening snow-filled delight for children of all ages (including the grownup ones). The graphics abound with snowmen, Christmas trees, candy canes, elves, and, of course, toys and gingerbread men. There are Christmas songs throughout this game which should get the player into the Yuletide spirit. This is a fast-paced game with plenty of activities in which to keep the player engaged. It is a long game as well, which, to me, is reminiscent of the quality games from yesteryear. Its vintage style is well-worth the investment of time and money.

MECHANICS: There are four (4) levels of play including a customized version. There are twenty (20) achievements. Collect twenty-eight (28) collectibles – eight (8) characters from the game, eight (8) gingerbread cookies and twelve (12) puzzle pieces. There is a collectible within each scene. A present located on the inventory bar will light up if you have not found the collectible within the scene. There are also morphing objects within the HOP scenes. There are eight (8) wallpapers along with casual art, cut scenes, and music selections. You can replay eight (8) mini-games and eight (8) HOP scenes.

BONUS CHAPTER: Santa is suffering from the flu. Can you locate a special healing tonic to cure him before Christmas? Play Tinsel, the elf, and locate the unlikely thief who stole this cure for Santa. The story is not related to the main game. There are six (6) mini-games and four (4) HOP scenes. It is a decent addition to the game; however, I do like the story from the main game better than the one from this chapter. There are no collectibles within this chapter.

HOP SCENES: There are twenty-five (25) HOP scenes in the game. These are some of the most creative HOP scenes I have seen in some time. They are thematic and highly interactive. All the scenes require manipulating items in some way to remove them from the list. They remind me of the caliber of HOP scenes from yesteryear. Some scenes have mini-puzzles and most have morphing objects. You can play a matching game in lieu of the scenes. Most of the scenes are lists of items or silhouettes. However, there are a couple of FROGs as well.

PUZZLES. There are thirty-two (32) puzzles within the game. Many are thematic, adding to the Yuletide spirit of this game. For the most part, they are easy and ones which older children can solve by themselves. There are quite a few storybook puzzles in which the player must locate items and replace them back within the scene.

SPOILERS: HERE ARE SOME OF THE PUZZLES AFTER THE DEMO:

A. Connection puzzle. On a grid, connect like-colored tokens without crossing lines. 3X Increases in difficulty.
B. Physical puzzle. Ride a glider to Santa’s village avoiding obstacles within the path.
C. Maze puzzle. Find the correct path through the mountains. Locate the right path by interacting with the scene, searching for items to placing them back into the scene.
D. Balance puzzle. Cross a snowy ravine by using a candy cane pole to steer you across an icy log. Use arrows to stay in balance.
E. Matching puzzle. Using arrows, click on parts of a sine wave so it matches a given one.
F. Beat the computer. Match-3 puzzle. Connect and remove 3 or more of your tokens to fill up three tubes before the evildoer fills his up.
G. Spot-the-Difference. Spot 10 differences between two scenes.
H. Weights and Balances puzzle. Place hour glasses with weights assigned to them between two sides of a scale so both sides balance.
I. Connection puzzle. On a grid, rotate lines to create a line from Jack Frost to a crystal.
BONUS CHAPTER:
J. Ye Old Stacking puzzle. Move rings between 3 poles to create a Christmas tree. You cannot place smaller pieces on top of larger pieces.
K. Fence/corral puzzle. Encircle a gingerbread man so he cannot escape by creating a boundary around him. Show less

I really enjoyed this game. Not only were the visuals very good but the story line and graphics just had a totally different feel and look then anything before. Didn't seem like I was playing the same game all over again this Christmas. Believe it was a British production.
