I really like this game. I challenge myself to find objects faster and faster. The storyline is good as well. I realize that it may not be for everyone but I had fun.

I have not played any of the other 2 games r/t this. SO even though it did not have a good rating I thought why not try it. I had no idea of what to do although I've played tons of HOGs and it was VERY easy to figure out. There was no challenge at all it just kept repeating the different variations of the same thing. This might be good for someone that has never play HOGs.
I don't recommend this game.

The first game in this series had plenty of reviews, most of them appalled at the game and it's lack of story, style, quality, and any other attribute that might compel you to buy it.
The second game did not aim as high as the first. Certainly the Devs felt no compulsion to improve what they apparently felt was stellar. Players were so dismayed at the result that it garnered few reviews, mostly as bad as the game deserved.
And now we have the third game in the series.
The game reflects the two previous entries in the series by not changing any part of the game play to make it enjoyable, interesting, or even tolerable.
In game three you will repeat each scene over and over until you have acquired five stars. Each time you will be looking for ten to twelve objects in varying sizes from miniscule to gigantic in proportion to reality. You will look for those items from a simple list, a jumbled word list, a silhouette list, or, for variety's sake, skip the basic list altogether and look for a dozen of a single item, like bottles, plates, whatever. The artwork will be clear, the items in a junk pile right in front of you, the story still MIA, and the music will do it's best to drive you to the edge of insanity.
If you hang on till you "earn" the five stars needed, you will have a simple puzzle to solve to move on to the next level with more of the same.
You will start this game at level fifteen, so you are carrying on that MIA story line by continuing to look for it again.
I will not suggest you play the demo.
I am not that cruel.
I will suggest, once again, that you check out the games you have previously purchased from BFG that you have not played in a long time. You can download ones you remember or try ones you don't remember as well as you thought you did.
I have found many of my older purchases vastly superior to recent offerings. Most assuredly they will not suffer in comparison to this poor little thing!

fromI've discovered a suspicious-looking maple leaf during my crime scene investigation. This leads me to the conclusion that the adjacent maple tree is the culprit which can only mean one thing...autumn has arrived?

After reading granny's review I wasn't in any rush to play this game (gr8 job btw ;) because it was evident that this was the same repetitive HO game as the last two in the series. I love a good old-fashioned Hidden Object Game but I don't want to search the same scene over and over, looking for the same ridiculously out of proportion objects, objects which btw are just thrown all over the scene without even attempting to hide them, until I've gone completely mad! I wouldn't even mind the repetitive scene scenario if the objects to find were different each time...how hard can that be? If I were truly investigating a homicide or any crime for that matter, I'd start by trying to find out who trashed the crime scene and threw a manhole cover in the tree? (I'm leaning towards an alcoholic as my prime suspect...see inclosed game)
I really liked the first Hidden Investigation game, and I thought that perhaps Brave Giant would take our advice and make some adjustments going forward, but clearly they haven't. The hidden objects never change position or location from scene to scene and the objects are really random and have nothing to do with an actual investigation. Once again, I had issues with clicking on objects too quickly to be accepted, which is ironic because you are awarded extra points for fast, consecutive clicking?!
The goal is to Investigate the Crime by searching for the same objects in the same scene over and over until you "master" the level and earn the required 5-Stars to progress the investigation which unlocks new scenes. Each time you investigate the scene, the Hidden Object mode is different, such as Standard Listed Items, Silhouetted Shapes, Multiples of the same object, or Scrambled Letter variations.
You can zoom in to the scenes and there is an available Hint and Magnet feature that collects any object on the list when you drag it around the scene but it takes a while to recharge...you probably won't need any of these features.
Although there isn't a Timer, the faster you complete the level, the more points you'll earn, you can earn a full star or just a portion of a star depending on the amount of time it took you to complete the level. The Stars earned by completing the Hidden Object Scenes are used to examine evidence and solve the case in the form of a mini-game.

I could not stomach playing this game through to the end. It was scene after scene of the SAME hidden objects for each "level," there was no actual storyline, and the graphics were pathetic. Go ahead and try it, as you should, but when you realize the 1st level is as I just described, save yourself and quit out of this poor excuse for a game and delete it.
