I bought and reviewed the CE version of this game, and must admit that there was more fun in that one due to the collectable cups and scrolls. However this is still a fascinating and strategic game.

I bought and reviewed the CE version of this game, and must admit that there was more fun in that one due to the collectable cups and scrolls. However this is still a fascinating and strategic game.

There are many features not found in other games even though the gameplay is still standard gather resources meet goals TM. There are lots of features which allow you to trade, so if you run out of one.. a bush will give you candy for imagination, a tree will give you wood for candy, and a book will give you imagination for gold..takes some thinking about! Also scenes where the colour is missing until you restore it.

There are altars that need activating, and only Alice can do that. So part of your strategy is to get her path cleared ASAP. She is also the only one that can collect 'imagination'

The setting is delightful and imaginative, but it is not too far in you end up in the castle and tends to become an 'indoor' game for a while. I also found the level of challenge in the early levels was very demanding and one wrong directional move and you wont make it. This tends to ease off a bit later in the game? (don't think my gameplay improved that much lol) The timer seemed very tough early on.

You can click ahead and your bonuses appear in a wheel in the corner. They don't stay however before closing up so you have to catch them as you see them (and choose out of several sometimes) You get used to what they are, but there is much in this game is a little overwhelming until you orientate to it.

You can turn off dialogue completely. You can play in relaxed and still get three gold stars and the tutorial is quick and only comes on in arrow form. It is fast paced and intricate. I think it is a really well constructed. Allow yourself a moment to get used to it and I think you will find it an unusual and fun game. Enjoy! Show less

5, cuz I LOVE the story. But......Sound/Visual: 1 star. One star (as one of the other reviewers said) music and incidental sounds were annoying - and both are!! The music is in a loop, which is fine and expected, but it's too chaotic/loud... and the sound you hear when you click on a resource that is not ready yet....YIKES!! It is so disruptive and shocking to the system; lack of a better word. I wishing so much that I could have rated it a 5, but alas, curiouser and curiouser. Show less

Yes, it is the standard Time Mgmt Game doing the same thing as others however this is telling the story of a young girl who was bored w/the book. In her dream she discovers what the story really is. She refuses to let me help or point out items to pick up and heads for the computer as soon as she comes over. Really helping her with mouse handling. Sure, it has an enticing premise of traveling to Wonderland as Alice but Wonderland was a bit of a letdown for me because there were so many missed opportunities. Unlike all the rave reviewers from the CE version, I had a hard time getting into this game. Sure, it has an enticing premise of traveling to Wonderland as Alice but Wonderland was a bit of a letdown for me because there were so many missed opportunities. The chosen colors are dull hues of yellow, gold and brown with just a dash of reddish-brown and an occasional blue, just like all the other TM games out there and not at all what I'd expect from a fantasy wonderland. I'd expect a very colorful world with bright contrasting colors, at the very least a warm array of pastels.

The Candy currency could have been something far more creative than a hard round peppermint, a candy nobody really loves, the Halloween candy that disappoints every kid when the cheap neighbor throws a handful in their bucket, the kind of candy you'd expect to see sitting in a dish on the secretary's desk or at the principles office...yea, that kind of candy...wouldn't a Truffle or Skittles be more colorful and appealing???

In the end, it's the same ole, same ole, Sawmills to produce wood, that's not very creative and is certainly a missed opportunity, again, this is Wonderland, a world created from a child's daydream imagination (and apparently from a color-blind child at that!) Gravel and Potholes to fix, bridges to fix...all the normal TM stuff, none of it theme-related. One of my favorite TM series is Vampire-based and everything about that game is theme-related and very amusing, I love how creative the developers for that game are, and they keep coming up with new ideas!

You can play in a Chill-Out, Normal or Hard Mode of difficulty and earn up to 3-Stars per level (40 levels, +12 Bonus Levels in the CE version) There is an option to disable all dialog in the settings menu which is a rather cool idea. Both versions have Achievements to earn but the CE version has 7 Additional achievements. In the CE version, most levels have a Puzzle piece that allows you to complete a Jigsaw Puzzle as well.

The Bonuses are given to you as Magic Spells that are either instantaneous or temporary :

-Collect More Resources-Run Faster
-Bargain Trade (resources traded at a better rate of 3-4)
-Get Candy Pile (generated on altars)
-Get Gold (generated on altars)
-Fill Altars-Speed Up Workers
-Freeze Time
-Speed Up Production
-Endless Candy (obstacles are temporarily disabled-max 3 objects)
-Endless Gold (obstacles are temporarily disabled-max 3 objects)

The Collector's Edition version Extra's include: 12 Additional Levels, Bonus Quests, Puzzle Pieces, 7 Additional Achievements, Wallpapers, Concept Art, Downloadable Soundtracks. There is NO Strategy Guide! Show less

When resources refill, the game makes an alert noise that is like fingers on a chalkboard. You can't mute it unless you turn all sounds off either! I had to quit playing before the trial even ended. Nothing terribly new and interesting. The characters and dialog were annoying, the pop up instructions were intrusive and not all that helpful, and the flashing graphics on the start point were just unnecessary. Not a buy for me. I'd rather replay Viking Brothers. Again.

I don't recommend this game.
