Love this game. Lots of levels. You got to think about your moves.
I had on two levels issues with not showing the items , Got out of game and came back, no issue after.
I like the challenges, I played expert level and got all 3 stars. I had to repeat some few times to get 3 stars. You need to build few buildings which they give you extra workers speed etc. so once you get all the buildings , ...Show more

I enjoyed playing this TM, graphics pretty good. On occasion towards the end of the game on a few levels I couldn't determine what items were needed to pick up or activate. The bubble would sometimes show lines instead of items or would display numbers but didn't show what items were needed. e.g, gold, rocks, etc.

The bubble would sometimes show lines instead of items or would display numbers but didn't show what items were needed. e.g, gold, rocks, etc.
As a new player to Hermes I also had a difficult time in the beginning understanding the forge was for something that looked more like food (round red item). I also had a tough time with the bonus that would automatically upgrade a building. Couldn't tell if it was working but it would eventually upgrade.
These issues were frustrating but I still enjoyed playing, especially since it is the Standard version and was discounted. Not worth paying full price CE.
I also had the problem as the other reviewed on level 3 with the wood. For some reason if you used the wood on the bridge first it worked. Somehow you are automatically granted more wood to finish the level. Show less

Played and completed the game on chilled and novice levels, but cannot get passed level 3 on expert!!! The reason for this as the chest (of which there is only 1) only gives you 50 wood!! there are 2 bridges which each take 40 wood. On the other 2 levels the chest gives you 120 wood.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail!!

I recommend this game!

I wasn't a fan of the first Hermes game, Rescue Mission, but War of the Gods is an incredible Time Management game. The graphics are really, really good, and the tasks are so interesting that they hold your attention, so much so, that it becomes quite addicting and it's hard to stop playing! The quality is what makes this game, it doesn't need puzzle rune collectibles, morphs or hidden objects to bulk it up for quantity, it's just a great game that packs a punch full of solid entertainment, even the storyline is good!

You can play in a Relaxed (untimed) Mode, Novice, or Expert Mode of difficulty over 50 Main Levels (+20 CE Bonus Campaigns) with 32 Achievement Trophies to earn. The Collector's Edition version "Extra's" also includes 8 Music Soundtracks, 8 Concept Art Pictures, and a visual/audio Strategy Guide. There is a tab for 6 Collectibles available after completing the main game.

I love the Olive Tree and Olive Grove food concept, and that production of the Olive Trees can be upgraded as well as the production buildings like Stone Quarries, Banks and Sawmills. There are unusual resources to collect or scavenge, like weapons and chariots, or you may need to plant specialty items for potion ingredients like cactus blossoms to ward off nightmares. For me, including different tasks each level that isn't the same old, same old, been there done that kinda things, really did the trick, and made me want to keep playing because there was always something new to look forward to.

Bonuses have a unique feature of rebuilding the Olympic Village to accumulate the power of the gods by helping the local villagers and fighting enemies. Each repair will increase your powers in percentage increments, and each building can be repaired several times. The construction does take a while to complete, but you can continue to play and the bonuses will automatically take effect when complete. During some game levels, you can pick up various bonuses as well, such as Speeding up Production.

*Stadium: Workers Run Faster.
*Gymnasium: Workers Work Faster.
*Wrestling Hall: Reduces the time it takes Ares to defeat enemies.
*Olympic Flame Bowl: Reduces the cost of repairing Ares' base.
*Sacred Grove of Altidus: Olives will ripen faster.
*Olympic Temple of Zeus: Reduces the cost of temple repairs.
*Port of Champions: Reduces the cost of repairing the gods' altars.
*Hippodrome: Hermes runs faster.

If you're a Time Management fan, this is a must-have game. If you haven't played a TM game, or you played one and didn't like it, this game will certainly change your mind, yea, it's that good!

Definitely fanciful, I appreciated the actual interaction between the Olympus rebuild and the gameplay - in the first Hermes there was no particular reason to "spend" your points.

HOWEVER, as mentioned in a couple other reviews, there are some glitches in the image processing - at times there's blank color blocks, other times there's patterns or pieces of images. As you hover over the item, it will attempt to resolve, and the gameplay itself is not affected. But it appears that the graphics cache is not being fully refreshed or otherwise corrupted. I will report the tech issues in the help pages, but suggest picking up the trial and see what happens on your own system. Show less

Yet another re-issue of a game well over three years old. Come on Big Fish, there must be new games software and developers around to choose from. Another subscriber hovering on the edge of continuing to pay for outdated rubbish.
