I have played only the demo and will be purchasing. For me it has the right amont of Hog scenes and puzzles which are not too taxing but fine for me. What I do like is that you can choose the length of time the hints etc take to reset. You get 90 mins and I had 11 mins left before the demo chapter ended. Just as long as you are aware you do not get a full 90 mins just until the first chapter ends,
I am now itching to buy this so I can carry on but try the demo as what suits some may not suit others, we are all different

It's more complex, as becomes evident in the choices we are given--our choices direct the order of the game, if not the outcome. The bonus chapter, although short, brings the entire game to a close, albeit a bit abruptly. All in all, a really good game.
There is a lot of creativity in the hidden object scenes and puzzles and mini-games abound (some of which I found a bit difficult but not impossible).
It is aggravating when there are bugs in a game as some reviewers indicated. Perhaps the developer did an upgrade as I did not have that experience. Show less

I really enjoyed this edition of Fright Chasers. Ever since the Fear For Sale series from Elefun Games was discontinued, the comparatively new Fright Chasers series has carved a little room for itself in the paranormal corner of the HOPA world. While this horror-lite series so far has not challenged any of the genre’s status quos, its sequels have been quite reliable in delivering spooky thrills in really interesting settings. In Fright Chasers: Thrills, Chills and Kills, you travel to a monsters-ridden amusement park to solve another challenging case.
In the HOPA days of yesteryear, it was not uncommon to find a theme park used as the setting for a hidden object adventure game, producing best-selling titles such as Dreamland, Dark Arcana, and Weird Park. For some unknown reason, HOPA developers decided to move away from that, making Fright Chasers: Thrills, Chills and Kills one of the only hidden object games sets in a theme park in recent memory. The theme park setting adds an interesting edge to the game’s otherwise predictable storyline, which is both fun and thrilling. While the game strays away from the park in later chapters, the suspense still remains throughout.
Mad Head Games does not hold back with the sights and sounds in Fright Chasers: Thrills, Chills and Kills. Not only is the quality stellar, but the amusement park theme also allows the developer to experiment and include creative visual ideas. For a game with such a dark storyline, there is a wide variety of colors in the game and I for one really appreciate that. On the audio side, both the music and the sound effects are perfectly produced, smartly used and aren't repetitive.
Where the game falters a little bit might be its gameplay. Fright Chasers: Thrills, Chills and Kills has all these imaginative elements in its theme and visuals, but fails to properly utilize theme for the full effect in its gameplay. The overall gameplay is extremely easy. The adventure part stays right inside the box and the puzzles are occasionally clever, but mostly simplistic. The hidden object scenes are arguably the best aspect of the gameplay. The scenes are crafted with precision and care, from the design to the mechanics, and are always a joy to play.
Fright Chasers: Thrills, Chills and Kills has a decent length. It took me roughly four hours to complete the main game and an hour for the bonus chapter. The Collector’s Edition contains all the necessary features; a strategy guide, wallpapers, concept art, soundtracks, replayable hidden object scenes, ultimate hidden object puzzle, ultimate puzzle, achievements, collectibles, and morphing objects. Cheers!
Also in this Series:
Fright Chasers: Dark Exposure
Fright Chasers: Soul Reaper
Fright Chasers: Director's Cut

REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME
4 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 39 pages
The Fright Chasers are back! As one-half of the daring duo, you and your partner, Lisa, are off to an amusement park plagued by an evil force which is turning people into monsters. When two of the park personnel including your own partner, Lisa, are turned into monsters, you are off to investigate. Fight fire with fire as you try to defeat them and at the same time, find a method to return them to their former selves. Enjoy the day at the amusement park!
This is another fantastic game from Mad head, one with an engaging story. It should appeal to adults. I would not recommend this game for children. There is one bloody scene in the bonus chapter which may be unsettling to children, and to some adults as well. Mad Head Games has added some creative touches to this game. The player has the choice in deciding in which order to play three of the chapters. Each of these is dedicated to tackling one of the three monsters. This amusement park has some bright, colorful scenes. These scenes contain some thematic puzzles and HOP scenes. The game is a fast-paced roller coaster ride, entering different parts of this amusement park.
The collectibles are morphing objects and hats. There is one of each in every scene. Each HOP scene has a morphing object as well. I found most easy to locate; however, there are some well-hidden morphing objects within some of the scenes. At the end of the game there is an ultimate HOP scene which displays three different scenes within a chest in which to find three lists of items. There is also an ultimate puzzle which is an extension of one of the puzzles within the game. Practice the art of social distancing (quite the rage now) as you walk through a park, avoiding all people with whom you may come in contact. If you get through the park without running into anyone, you not only solve the puzzle but may also qualify for an award in social distancing.
MECHANICS:
• 5 levels of play including a customized version.
• 11 achievements (each with 3 parts)
• Collect 27 morphing objects and 27 hats
• Collect 17 morphing objects within the HOP scenes.
• 4 wallpapers along with concept art, music, and video sequences
• Ultimate HOP scene. Collect all morphing objects and collectibles to play it.
• Ultimate puzzle. Extension of a puzzle form the game.
• Replay 17 HOP scenes at the end of the game
There are seventeen (17) HOP scenes and all can be replayed at the end of the game. Most of the scenes are either lists of items or silhouette. There are some matching scenes as well. I found the HOP scenes beautifully illustrated, but not terribly exciting. I would love to see more variety in the HOP scenes by this developer.
There are twenty-four (24) puzzles within the game. I found the puzzles better designed than the HOP scenes. Most of the puzzles are easy. Unfortunately, this developer does not provide the ability to replay any of the puzzles. Again, I hope in the future, Mad Head will consider this option for those who would like the opportunity to replay the puzzles without having to replay the entire game.
BONUS CHAPTER: It is a sequel. Research the story of a cursed chest mentioned in the main game. Your partner, Lisa, is on vacation so you are off to learn more about the story behind the chest. I loved the story behind this chapter, and feel the story is better than that of the main game. It is a long chapter and well-worth the price of a collector’s edition designation. There are five (5) HOP scenes and three (3) puzzles. Be warned that there is an unsettling graphic in this chapter.
SPOILERS: HERE ARE SOME OF THE PUZZLES AFTER THE DEMO:
A. Connection puzzle. Connect nodes with wires so that each node has the same number of wires attached to it as the number written upon it.
B. Picture puzzle. Click on segments of a picture turning each segment the same color as that on a given diagram.
C. Switch puzzle. Switch 5 pieces of an image to restore it.
D. Search and replace. Search for items in the wrong position and replace them back into the scene in the proper position.
E. Maze puzzle. Walk through a maze in the dark, using a flashlight to light the way and using special inventory items to help you get through the maze.
F. Tangram puzzle. Place suitcase pieces into a grid so all fit within the grid and there are no open spaces.
G. Connection puzzle. Connect like-colored squares on a grid without crossing paths.
H. Social distancing. Take a walk moving arrows right and left to avoid people in your path.
I. Domino Puzzle. Place dominoes on a grid so that ends match up.
J. Sliding tiles puzzle. Slide tiles until an image is formed on a 3 x 3 grid.
BONUS CHAPTER
K. Assembly puzzle. Rotate and place pieces of a map into position, creating a complete map.
L. Moving tile puzzle. Move marbles with Roman numerals upon them. Open gates and close them as you move the marbles. Move each one to its proper location on a 3 x 3 grid.

The game got off to a promising start to an action-packed day in the park. However, in the demo, there were just so many tasks. I soon tired of all the collecting and wanted to get on with the monster hunting. I finished the demo and saw enough to put me on the fence about purchasing this new "Fright Chasers."
The train ride into the park gave us a glimpse of the evil awaiting our arrival. The gorilla was majorly getting on my nerves because I couldn't find what I needed right away, to exit the scene quickly. That brute was making a huge amount of racket !! I was so relieved when it ended with his exit and the monster hunt continued. Saw a few of them in the demo but didn't get to experience much of the havoc they could conjure up.
I really like games involving amusement parks, so that kept me going. The graphics were sharp and very colorful. The scenes were full of all the park-related stuff you would expect. The game did move along at a quick pace and as each new area of the park was entered, a new danger arose. The inventory filled and emptied quickly and I actually got to use a couple of items on more than one task. I have noticed some new creativeness in this new installment and hope it provides more fun and interest to keep boredom from settling in.
The characters were well rendered, the voices were pretty good with expression and the lip sync not bad at all. The one thing I didn't care for was the green and yellow smoke or mist, it just seemed unnecessary and I felt it got in the way. The games were pretty easy but the HOPs were a good challenge, I liked them a lot and there was a fun variety of styles. They did a super job with the HOP scenes. Sometimes the morphing objects were difficult to find, the hats were easy. The achievements were doable, I hit a few in the demo.
I was so happy that custom mode reduced the skip and hint settings down to 1 second! That is so handy in the demo because it quickens our game progress. I always love this feature. Also, I enjoy trying all the game modes in games I purchase, to see if they really make a significant difference.
The theme of this "Fright Chasers" seems like it might be more suited to adults and teens. The amusement park may be attractive to young children, not expecting the evil and monsters lurking there. Parents should be attentive, even if this is "just a game". And 1 reviewer mentioned that there is quite a disturbing scene in the Bonus Chapter.
Well, I am a fan of monster themed movies and games. I like the idea of several different monsters to do battle with, so with today's sale, this game will most likely go into my vast collection of goodies. I want to jump off the fence and defeat the evil force at hand. The demo usually gives me a strong feeling about purchasing or not, glad we have the free trials to help with our decisions.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel...stay safe! Show less

This one is probably not for the seasoned HOPA player, but it's just right for me! I don't have to run around and around to find things, and amazingly I always just manage to pick up the tool I need, just right before I need it lol.
The hidden object scenes are not just lists but a fair amount of finding pairs and uncovering things to find what I need. (each one has a morph). The puzzles are fairly doable for me who is not a puzzle buff, and its not too hard to find the morphs and collectables.
The graphics are fairly bright and I am a sucker for anything set in an amusement park. The storyline is believable and you can get a shock every now and then too.
If you are looking for an outstanding game...this most likely is not it, but for those who 'only do the odd' hidden object game or like to 'keep moving'.., this is just my style so as not to rattle my patience or leave me frustrated. Not a lot of back and forth or trapesing all over. I love that even the hint and puzzle skip goes as low as one second recharge!
I will leave to others to fill in the fine details but just snuck in to say this is a very basic game...but that's why I like it lots. Enjoy. Show less
