I mostly don't review anymore because there are so many more in depth than what I do. And it's extraordinarily rare that I give a 5 star review, but this is more than a 4! I never listen to the music or voice overs; my main goal is keeping the brain alert.
It is SO refreshing to not have the centuries old graphics story line, or skulls and skeletons rushing at me. It's just a good, old fashioned ...Show more

I appreciate the absence of demons and dark magic that dominate most games these days. It's fun to play something without the evil overtones. Elephant Games did a great job with the storyline, the characters, the excellent graphics and overall scenery. There is just the right amount of HOPs and puzzles, for me, and the HOP scenes show off better-than-average graphics in this new release. I like all the HOPs and puzzles so far.

I always like the challenge of finding the collectibles and morphs, but must admit it is hard to keep track of the items without an indicator to keep me informed. I wish one was available here. So I opt to pay less attention to them when that feature is missing, in order to concentrate more on the story. Maybe not a big deal to some gamers but, for me, achievements add more fun.

With only 3 chapters, I don't know how long it will take me to finish the game, as I play quite slowly so I can enjoy every little detail, and I do always count on a Bonus Chapter for at least an additional hour. I'm having a good time playing "Five Orange Pips" and at this point feel confident in recommending it. A good game for all skill levels with the 4 game modes available. I like to try each, sometimes I don't find much difference between them at all. But for demos I usually prefer the Custom Mode for the sake of saving time.

I think a 5 star rating is appropriate and feel that my buying the CE version was a good decision. Others of you may not agree with my opinion of this new Ms. Holmes mystery game, that's why the demo is so handy-dandy. I never shop without it.

Thus, I really appreciate how Elephant Games innovates and comes up with a new series once in a while – Detectives United, Paranormal Files, Halloween Stories, and Ms. Holmes: The Monster of the Baskervilles are some of the recent examples. I really enjoyed Ms. Holmes: Five Orange Pips far better than the last edition because it incorporated a new character...Oscar Watson,.the son of Doctor Watson! You're also going to be surprised who the villain is in this edition too! HINT - Who was Sherlock Holmes arch Enemy???

I have also resigned to the fact that if you're going to play any of the numerous Elephant HOPA's you're going to be searching for lots of Amulets these days...but I don't mind. It makes the investigation last longer at least. When it comes to the visuals, Ms. Holmes: Five Orange Pips is expectedly on-point. The mysterious and gloomy environment is appropriate for a game of this nature, this goes the same for the ominous background music. I also think Elephant developers splurged with their budget because the graphics look nice and polished which was not implemented in the last edition of Ms. Holmes.

Ms. Holmes Five Orange Pips is offered as a Collector’s Edition, which might be worth the price when on sale IMHO. It offers players roughly 4 hours of play including the Bonus chapter. The bonus section includes the usual bling: a bonus chapter, a strategy guide, wallpapers, concept art, soundtracks, repayable hidden object scenes, repayable puzzles, achievements, collectibles, and morphine objects (which are so overrated) LOL. Try this second edition because it is an improvement over the first game, just don't pay full price like I did or wait until the SE is released in a month or less. Cheers! Show less

I have always referred to women friends who love life, a bit eccentric and loyal and true as "pips" true seeds of life.

I'm glad I did because I loved everything about this game. The artwork and atmosphere were great, and I enjoyed the storyline. I hope we get more of these games, and that is why I am reviewing this. There are some who didn't enjoy this game, but others have, and it would be a shame if this series ended. Please bring us more, but try not to take so long between releases next time, and please make the game longer! These are way too short! In fact, the short length almost caused me to remove one star. It only took four hours to complete, and that is not enough game play for a CE. Show less

This game got me pumped, thrilled, and restored my believe in HOG's. Beautifully crafted, a bit witty, with character for sure, it wins you over after the first minutes of gameplay. The title gots you thinking... Ms. Holmes... really? But, trusted me, you will enjoy this game till the very end. Can't wait for the next "episode" to come out. Bravo Team!

I would have rated this game as 4 stars but it is such a great improvement by the developers over the previous Ms. Holmes I rated it as 5 stars. Keep it up.

I like this game very much. Story line was different and interesting even though it seem to change.

Just finished the trial, and I'm buying this one. Everything works together to create a believable narrative. I found myself really enjoying the movement of the game from one play to the next, and I'm looking forward to playing all of it to the end. My only criticism is the voiceover actor for Oscar Watson. The poor fellow sounds as though he is reading from a book. Oh well, nothing is perfect!

I completed the CE version. Elephant devs have stepped up a notch or two in this particular game. I very much enjoyed playing it. The storyline, voiceovers, graphics, puzzles, mini-games, et al were grand. The graphics were vibrant and colorful and crisp. Elephant Games always excel in that area in my opinion.

For me, the only drawback was that there were too many steps to complete a task especially when the game is good you don't want to dilly-dally and just move on! Also, I collected all but one puzzle piece that I missed in the main game, and upon finishing the bonus game I was not able to go back and retrieve the puzzle piece. I would hope, too, that in the future these devs would add a match-three option. That would be a big plus! But I did enjoy the variety of puzzles and HOPS that was offered in this game.

Well done, Elephant Games devs! You did great! I do indeed recommend this game. Try the demo first if you like. Show less
