I've never been a fan of the neons, of any color, but they are not so over-done in this game. The graphics are excellent, beautifully displaying scenes with lots of interesting things to keep our attention, all saturated in wonderful color. I love that the characters from various fairytales were brought together in this story. It created an interesting, quality storyline that would not be possible without this "twist", in my opinion.
A magic wand is our helpful gimmick in this game. I have no idea why they are necessary, I hate them, I think they disrupt the flow of the game. The use of the gimmick here, actually makes sense and makes it a little easier for me to tolerate. All else is very fine, which is a given with Domini games. The characters, voices, sound f/x, music, mechanics, CE content. They didn't miss a speck of what makes a fantastic game.
The HOs were really great and the games were fun and not overly challenging. I am so immensely happy that "Dark Deal" does not contain an over-abundance of games! The balance of HOs and mini-games is perfect for me. I've passed over so many games where the number of puzzles was just too crazy. Thank you Domini, for keeping the balance more reasonable. The tasks were taken care of without being a big drag, as happens sometimes depending on how much back & forth is involved. Inventory didn't get clogged up with lots of items, all was used soon enough. The game moved at a nice, comfortable pace.
I'm hoping the Bonus Chapter keeps up the fun in this fairytale, staying connected to the main story. But I have a feeling that Domini won't let us down. The choice of game modes, as usual, is really a nice feature because it allows all skill levels to participate in the fun. So far, this has proven to be a purchase I will enjoy without boredom or regret Show less

The graphics are really beautiful in this game. The music, voice overs and environmental sounds are well done. The map allows you to jump to locations and it shows where collectibles are still available. There is a hint button, but I never used it. There is a strategy guide, but I only used it a couple times when I was having trouble finding a collectible.
The bonus chapter adds to the story. Both the main game and the bonus chapter have satisfying endings. The extra bonus content consists of viewing the morphing objects and pictures you've collected (each with a small story to read), viewing your "suitcase" where you can spend coins collected during the game to purchase objects, videos, wallpapers, music, HOSs you can replay and mini games you can replay.
I was a beta tester for this game and enjoyed the beta so much I've been watching for the game to be released. If you are looking for a game that is fun to play without being too dark and/or scary, I highly recommend this game. Show less

Some of the wallpaper I will use for a while. I liked Cafe McFairy, Mermaid, Roses and a few more. It has 18 wallpapers and 15 concept art.
With the 70 coins I bought things for my suitcase. I found 15 morphing characters' personal items and 15 photo shards. It has 8 chapters + bonus. This is the second one in the series and I already played the third one. This one is my favorite. It came out July 2020. Show less

I played on the Advanced level to the end of the trial. So far I love the storyline, love the interaction in the scenes and finding the different objects like personal items, they do morph if you look for them. Love the characters. Mini games are great to. I liked everything about it. The voice and sound is clear and good. Lots of fun.

REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME
8 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 43 pages (My time: 6 Hours)
OPINION: Be careful what you wish for! You may get more than you bargained for in this game. Buyer beware! In this game deal with the Seller, a misguided evildoer who grants wishes; however, not in the way the buyer expects. Play Fairy Godmother in her quest to stop the havoc caused by this evildoer out for revenge.
This game fulfilled my wishes. Again, Domini Games has delivered an outstanding game! The story behind the game is well-written, incorporating characters from well-known fairy tales such as the Seven Dwarfs, Rapunzel, and the Snow Queen. The bonus chapter includes revamped characters from the “Wizard of Oz.” The game is not as lengthy as previous games; however, to me, it is a quality game packed with extras no other developers provide in their games. I found the graphics decent with the developer’s signature neon green and vivid purple splashed throughout the scenes. I found it an easy and smooth play. It is a fast-paced game chock full of activities.
There are one to two collectibles in every scene. They include morphing fairy tale objects and shards - one for each character within the game. Collect coins to purchase items for your own sales suitcase. Returning is the indicator bar to indicate if there is a collectible within the scene. I like this feature and wish more developers had this feature within their games. There is a gimmicky magic wand which is used throughout the game. It is charged with energy spheres collected while searching the scenes for inventory items. I hate gimmicks within games; however, although I feel the game would have been better without the wand, it is a logical addition to the game.

MECHANICS:
• Four (4) levels of play including a customized version.
• 39 achievements.
• Collect 15 shards, each one representing a character within the game
• Collect 15 morphing fairy tale objects
• Collect 70 coins to purchase items for a suitcase.
• 18 wallpapers along with concept art, music, and video sequences
• Magic wand to transform items. The wand lights up when needed
• Replay 16 minigames and 17 HOP scenes
BONUS CHAPTER: Go back in time to Fairy Godmother’s first case, right after graduation from the Godmother Academy. Learn how she met Goodwin, her lifelong sidekick in detective work. Dark magic has infiltrated Talesville, perpetrated by an evil witch, Odette. Odette was vanquished, but has resurfaced with her guards, the Fire Lion, the Hideous Scarecrow, and the Tin Woodcutter. Now you, as Fairy Godmother, must battle Odette and destroy her guards. I found this a nice addition to the game and worthy of a collector’s edition designation. There are six (6) mini-games and five (5) HOP scenes. I found the HOP scenes more creatively designed than in the main chapter. There is a beautiful scene set in a birdhouse with colorful birds. There is another clever one in which a vending machine item is chosen based on two items within the product.
HOP SCENES: There are seventeen (17) HOP scenes in the game. All can be replayed at the end of the game. They are somewhat interactive. I enjoyed them but found them not as creatively designed as in previous games. They include lists of items, silhouette, spot-the-differences, and matching. There is one scene with rebus clues, another with searching by pattern or design, and one storybook scene with highlighted items to be found in a descriptive narrative.
MINI-GAMES: There are twenty-one (21) mini-games, seventeen (17) of which can be replayed at the end of the game. Except for two mini-games in the bonus chapter, all can be played in either an easy or hard mode. This makes the game appealing to those who want an easy, breezy game as well as those who want a little more challenge within a game.
SPOILERS: HERE ARE SOME OF THE MINI-GAMES AFTER THE DEMO: (E=Easy, H=Hard)
A. E/H Rotating tiles puzzle. Rotate lines on a diamond shaped grid so they recreate a given pattern. Harder puzzle has more lines to rotate and maneuver
B. E/H Mathematical puzzle. Using darts, hit numbers on a dartboard which total equal 105 in the hard version – 95 in the easy version.
C. E/H. Picture puzzle. Place puzzle fragments into position to create a train track. Easy version has less pieces
D. E/H Connection puzzle. Place tiles with lines upon them so they connect and reach the top left of the grid.
BONUS CHAPTER:
E. E/H Assembly puzzle. Connect a wire between two tiles which, when combined, produce one of the six images at the bottom of the screen. The easy version has only 4 images to create
F. E/H Shooter puzzle. Shoot colored balls into their appropriate holes by rotating the shooter to face the proper hole. Hard has more balls to get into holes
G. Maze puzzle. Choose the right road, at the right time, to get a bull to a farm while keeping him from seeing red flags along the way.

Hello friends! As always, I review mostly on the game play and leave the story line to others. Wow, this one came out right on the heels of the last one! This developer always has bright clear colors, but they are not over powering or tiring on the eyes. They were actually quite beautiful. Graphics are very well done, with no blurring except occasionally when going in and out of close ups, which is the norm for this developer. Animation is very nice, with smooth movements. Voices are age and character appropriate, but still not a lot of character interaction. We do speak to at least one person in each level, so far. Music is okay, but still somewhat annoying. It's hard to tell, but if you turn the sound up, you sort of hear wind. Otherwise, there was a lot missing in the SFX department. A game is more interesting if you have nice SFX to keep you interested and engaged. What little we had was well done. We don't have a little helper, but we do have a magic wand that can change objects into something that helps us out somehow.
HOGs were interactive, and riddle type. Hopefully, there is more as the game progresses. Items are not difficult to find and the scenes are fairly clutter free. We could switch to a match 3 game if you wanted something different. Puzzles were simple, but still took some time and thought to complete, even on easy mode. Hint system is very helpful and, we transport by way of the map opening and showing us where to go next. Areas are clearly identified by picture and whether or not you have missed a collectible, or you can choose to not have that hint for more challenge finding collectibles.
Collectibles are varied and well done. We have a combination of varied personal items that also morph quickly (15); large, easy to see photos (15), and coins to buy items for our characters (70).
This story moved a bit slowly, so hopefully it picks up as we move along. We are constantly on the move, with a fair amount of backtracking. I always demo on easy mode, which wasn't difficult, but still had some challenge. I'm not quite sure why, but I have the need to play this one out and see where it goes. I like this developer, and their games quite often start out slow and go up from there. Even at that, I gave this one a 4.75. I think most all levels of players will find this one interesting and challenging. Yes, I am adding this one to my collection.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Play on! Show less

I enjoyed this game as I really like the developers, but the game play is very stuttery and slow. I think it needs an update to sort this out. Otherwise, a pretty good game. Much the same tasks as most HOG games nowadays, but there are some different things to do in it. I like the storyline and the colours are fine, if a bit garish at times. Try for yourselves

Completed Game approximately 5.5 hours
(including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter)
25 Main Game Scene Locations +10 Bonus Chapter
Difficulty Range: Beginner-Intermediate
When you wish upon a suitcase, makes no difference who you are, but if you're the godson of Fairy Godmother, let's hope that you run hard! Ever wish that you could make a wish that you'd never have to worry about anything? That's exactly what Fairy Godmother's godson Kai wished, the problem is, he bought a wish from The Seller, and now he doesn't worry or care about anything or anyone. To make matters worse, he's on his way to see The Snow Queen and you'll never believe what he wants from her!
Sure, it's a great story, Domini always tells a great fairy tale, but they never bother to change how the player gets through the story. The opening scene has me picking a lock on my own purse, again! Blowing away smoke so I can see what's on the table, again! Using a diamond ring to cut glass, again!, Retrieve items in a sewer grate, again! Replace a missing wheel so I can get through the gate, again! Rake leaves, sift through a dirt pile, again! Melt the ice to get an item, again! Cut wires, tape wires, again! Retrieve items too high to reach, again! Unscrew bolts, pop out nails, again! Scare away crows, again! This all happens within the first 3 scenes...a paragraph full of the same cliche tasks that are repeated over, and over in 8 very long chapters that could have been told in 4. It makes me insane when I'm doing senseless tasks in one chapter and find myself doing the exact same things in the next 7 chapters, 7 times over...why????????
Gadgets/Helper:
Fairy Godmothers need a Magic Wand so as soon as she retrieves it from the Lost & Found bin (I kid you not!) you're good to go. The Magic Wand transforms objects but of course, it's a one and done charge and requires a recharge after each use with 3 Magic Crystals. The Magic Wand is used 5 times during the Main Chapters only and not in the CE Bonus Chapter at all.
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only):
There are 15 Morphing Personal Items and 15 Glass Character Shards. There are 70 Zoom Zone Coins that can be used to purchase 15 boring Suitcase Items...doesn't everyone secretly desire to decorate a suitcase? There is an optional Collection Icon Tab that can be enabled or disabled in the settings as well.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available, which btw, doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly. (you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match) I knew the HOP's were going to be less than desirable when the first one required me to make my own tea because the barista was clueless, and the counter was disgusting! (and I used milk that was unrefrigerated!) There were Interactive Listed Item Finds, Vertical & Horizontal Slider Bar Finds, Spot the Differences, Combo Silhouetted Shape Finds, Matching Pair Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds as well.
Mini-Games:
There are 17 Mini-Games +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Below are a few of my personal favorites:
1-Place element tokens in the correct order.
2-Navigate through the map by dragging the feet and finding & using items to overcome obstacles.
3-Rotate lines on a diamond-shaped grid to replicate the pattern.
4-Shoot balls into their color-coded slots.
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only)
Did Fairy Godmother just ask the Seller for that youth wish, cuz the clock hands have spun back in time! Fairy Godmother has just graduated from the Academy and Detective Goodwin joins her on her very first case as Taleworld is faced with Dark Magic by an evil witch named Odette. This is an above-average-length Domini chapter spanning over 10 scene locations with just 4 additional Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes, You will continue your search for the final 3 Morphing Personal Belongings, 3 Glass Character Shards, and 10 Zoom Zone Coins (of varying amounts) which allows you to purchase the final Suitcase Items. Honestly, after 8 long, repetitive chapters, I was just ready for the game to be over and this chapter seemed more of a chore than a delight.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only)
18 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 27 Movie Video Cutscenes, 39 Achievements, 16 Replayable Mini-Games, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Personal Belongings,15 Glass Character Shards, a gazillion Missing Notes, 70 Zoom-Zone Coins, 15 Suitcase Items (purchase with Coins...boring) 8 Main Chapters (really?) +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.
