I almost didn't play the free trial because of the two bad reviews, but I'm glad I decided to play. I enjoyed the game very much. The visuals were clear and nice. The Hint was fast. I liked some of the puzzles but not all of them, but they can be skipped. I recommend this game for a relaxing, interesting experience. I plan to purchase the full game.

You have finally landed your dream job as a new H.E.L.P. linguist and you are off to Mexico to test your skills at the Temple of the Sun and the tomb of Coatlicue. So now begins another game in the Hidden Expedition series, or just maybe this is a different expedition.
What is positive about this new Hidden Expedition game is that the graphics are excellent and full of brilliant color but without all of the neon that is usually favored by this artistic team. Hidden Expedition the Price of Paradise has everything I enjoy in most games with gameplay that moves along at a good pace and a great storyline. What I consider a surprising negative is that this is definitely not a Hidden Expedition game. Our handy H.E.L.P. box that contained all of those wonderful fact cards that I loved to collect as I played is now MIA. There is nothing from the older HE games left after this developer seemed to move along its old path and gutted the original series. Why did they do that and, more importantly, why did BFG sanction that action? It is almost sacrilege to call the game Hidden Expedition. Why not ditch the original title along with the basic premise of the game and come up with a different title? This is only my opinion, but I am certain there will be others out there who will agree. All of the being said, the game is still a good game and I think I might have found it more enjoyable had it not been released as a Hidden Expedition game.
The HO scenes are good at least the “real ones”, meaning those that were list, silhouette, or matching types. I think the storybook scenes are simply a waste of time. Again, with this developer we have an unbalanced ratio of 2:1 with mini-games far outweighing the HOS. I realize that it takes far less energy for a developer to look into their catalog of mini-games and pop one into a current game than it does for them to create a hidden object scene.
Although I did like this game, I will say it again, it is not a Hidden Expedition game, so I deducted one point for the game’s the missing HELP box and fact cards, then another point because there are far more mini-games than HOS. Come on developers please give us more balance between the HOS and the mini-games because not all HOPA lovers enjoy puzzles. I vacillated between recommending the game or not, but decided that it is at least worth playing the demo and then you can decide if it is a game worth recommending. Please try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. As Always - Happy gaming! Show less

P.S. Can we have ONE series of HO games that takes place in the daylight hours, that doesn't have the word "Dark", "Evil", "Demon" or "Death" in the title, and in no way deals with the supernatural...PLEASE?!?!? How about a good old military mission?? Just a thought... Show less

Is This The Price of Paradise? Our original Hidden Expedition developer has turned in their H.E.L.P badges and gear after 18 episodes, or should I say cases? A year later, the organization has a brand new C.E.O. with bright and shiny graphics, (which was to be expected by this developer anyway) What I wasn't expecting was a complete overhaul of the organization, No Original H.E.L.P. Characters, No H.E.L.P gadgets, No H.E.L.P Fun Fact Cards? So for me, this wasn't a Hidden Expedition game, it was a decent game, but in reality, it was just another new Domini Game, and it wasn't really deserving of the HE title.
Gadgets/Helper:
This should be the point where I explain about the fun fact cards you find during your "expedition" but Domini chose NOT to include this Hidden Expedition staple feature that made the Hidden Expedition series different from all the other games???
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only):
You get to search for 15 tiny Aztec Souvenirs and 20 Calendar Day Collectibles in a whopping 31 scene locations. That's all folks!
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 18 Hidden Object Scenes + 6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. They vary with Interactive List Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Replace Items into the Scene, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Price Tag Finds, Matching Pair Finds and Multiples of the Same Item Finds. There is an alternative Match 3 game available as well, but it's not a very good one.
Mini-Games:
There are 36 Mini-Games +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Below are a few of my personal favorites:
1-Drop matching colored boxes onto each other to remove them.
2-Use a cue stick to hit pool balls into the matching colored holes.
3-Fire a signal from the far left satellite to the lower right base.
4-Connect all dots just once.
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only)
Wind back the hands of time playing as Vincent Alvarez as he tries to stop a seedy organization from stealing The Vase of Wind...whoosh (rut row, I think I just let the air escape, they should put a lid on this puppy!) This is a rather long Domini chapter spanning over 10 scene locations with 8 additional Mini-Games and 6 Hidden Object Scenes. You will complete your search for the final 7 Calendar Days and 4 Souvenirs.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only)
11 Wallpapers, 11 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 33 Movie Video Cutscenes, 38 Achievements, 23 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Aztec Souvenirs, 20 Calander Days, 7 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I could only get the audio to play on this game. Second time I've had this problem in the last two purchases from this series. I have other games in this series that work just fine. Yes, I tried to get help through support, but still did not work.
I don't recommend this game.
