and Labyrinths of the World is one of my favorite series. I believe Domini Games will not falter in keeping it at the top. Of course they are at it again with their green and purple obsession which disrupts the scene's beauty sometimes. However, I am resolved to accepting it by now since it will never go away
Hearts of the Planet has a great storyline that, right away, influenced my decision to buy this game. The "inner world" theme always intrigues me, usually displaying unique creatures and emotional/physical conflict with the humans who suddenly appear in their world. With the magic and technology elements added to the story, it has created an interesting adventure.
This game shows off beautiful, sharp graphics that greatly enhance the background detail. The colors are strong and at times almost too vivid. Each scene is full of interesting things to capture your interest and the artwork is grand which makes a huge impact on my enjoyment of a game.
In Hearts of the Planet, the characters and voices are done very well, no annoying factors to interfere with their visual appeal or dialogue. The sound f/x were excellent and the music was not intrusive. The underwater scenes in the BC were just gorgeous. This game displays a lot of detailed beauty that really makes the story come alive, in my opinion.
The HOPs were quite good with a variety of more creative ones. I actually enjoyed most of the puzzles, not overly difficult. I'm not a great fan of puzzles, so this was a very good thing that I survived, lol.
Domini inspired me to buy this game, not only with their awesome workmanship but with the smaller amount of puzzles. I so appreciate the more reasonable balance of HOPs and puzzles here, since this was a storyline that especially appealed to me.
I have reluctantly passed up so many games due to the ridiculous amount of puzzles, small amount of HOPs. For me 40, 50, 60 puzzles is just not an option and I quit spending $$ on them. It isn't fair to the HOP fans and there's not much room for a story NOT condensed, to make room for them. So thank you, Domini, for allowing me to enjoy this fun game!
I didn't run into any glitches and the game progressed smoothly at a good pace. The tasks didn't burden me with a lot of time or travel. The features offered help make the game a fun experience regardless of skill level with the variety of mode options, adjustable hint/skip time, and user-friendly map.
There isn't an abundance of collectibles, there are 40 achievements, items can be purchased for a garden with collected coins, all the HOPs and 18 puzzles can be replayed. But for me, this was enough to make it a good CE deal, in addition to the decent BC and strategy guide. It was a nice, long entertaining game .
Domini is well known for the quality and beauty in their creations . They know how to do it right. Too bad so many other devs can't seem to deliver the same quality and caring attention to their games.
Give the demo a spin, maybe this will be a treat for you, too. In my opinion, Labyrinths of the World is a good series that always bring us interesting adventures. Hopefully it will be around for along time in the good hands of Domini. Show less

4 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 50 pages (My Time: 7 Hours)
As Simon, you are off on your dream vacation with your friend, Olivia. However, this dream will soon become a nightmare when you are hurled underground, to a land which houses three (3) worlds. When Olivia becomes possessed by the power of a crystal from this underground world, her monstrous presence must be dealt with. Battle her possession before a prophesized war erupts between humans from the outer world with the inhabitants of the inner world.
OPINION: This is yet another creatively designed adventure by Domini Games. This is the first game in this series by this developer. It is a matter of personal preference, but I like this developer’s approach to this series better than that of the previous one. It is a fast paced with plenty of activities. This developer always provides more game for the money with more collectibles, HOP scenes, and puzzles than other developers. For me, their games are in a league of their own – pure artistry in gaming. The graphics include their signature neon green and vivid purple, tastefully incorporated into their scenes. There are some incredibly beautiful underwater scenes in the bonus chapter. In my opinion they are truly becoming the top “gamemeister” for Big Fish Games.
MECHANICS:
• Four (4) levels of play including a customized version.
• 40 achievements.
• Collect 15 collectibles for a backpack and 15 morphing birds,
• Collect 70 coins to purchase items for a garden
• 19 wallpapers along with concept art, music, and video sequences
• 33 Scenes, 29 mini-games, 18 HOP scenes
• Replay 18 HOP scenes and 18 mini-games
BONUS CHAPTER: It is a prequel. Learn the story of Etien from the main game and how he arrived in the world of the Underground. Help him locate a manuscript from a ship for Gibson Vermi, a misguided man with hidden intentions in his quest to find an important relic from the Underground world. I found this a nice addition to the game, making it worthy of the designation of a collector’s edition. There are nine (9) mini-games and five (5) HOP scenes. I found it equal in quality to the main game.
HOP SCENES: There are eighteen (18) HOP scenes, all of which can be replayed at the end of the game. Although Domini is better known for their puzzles, I find their HOP scenes better than those from most developers. They offer a variety of creatively designed ones. They include the standard lists of items, silhouette, and storybook scenes; however, there are some creative touches incorporated into them. My favorite is the slider silhouette scene in which the player moves sliders at the top and side of the scene to match the silhouette of the item with the item itself before removing it. There is also a scene with rebus clues and two spot-the difference scenes. A Match-3 game can be played instead of the scenes.
MINI-GAMES: This is a puzzle-lovers delight! There are twenty-nine (29) mini-games, most of which can be played in either a hard or easy mode. This provides a nice game for those who want an easy play, however, it also provides some challenge for those who want that element in their games. Eighteen (18) of the mini-games can be replayed at the end of the game.
SPOILERS: HERE ARE SOME OF THE MINI-GAMES AFTER THE DEMO: (E = Easy; H = Hard)
A. E/H. Strategy puzzle. Enter 5 numbers so that no column, row nor connected string has duplicates of the same number
B. E/H. Switch puzzle. Switch tokens embedded with musical notes so that all the musical notes symbols surrounding them light up Easy version has less note tokens to switch.
C. E/H Switch puzzle. Switch colored gears within 5 like-colored circles so all mesh. Gears will light up when placed correctly. Easy version has less gears to place.
D. E/H. Queen’s 8 puzzle. In this case, place 5 falcon heads on a board so that none are in alignment with each other either by row, column or diagonally. 3 are already placed. Easy version has only 3 tokens to place
BONUS CHAPTER
E. E/H. Dot-to-Dot puzzle. Recreate a given image by connecting the dots. The easy version has less dots.
F. E/H. Map puzzle. Navigate a submarine through water in the dark avoiding mines and bubbles. You get only 3 lives to do this. In the easy mode there are no lives lost - just avoid bubbles
G. E/H. Map puzzle. Navigate to an exit by moving on a path with squares. Choose to go either 4, 5, 6, 9 or 11 spaces.
H. E/H. Block puzzle. In this case, move cannons blocking the path for a crate to move from one end to the other.
I. Rope puzzle. Maneuver rope so that is covers all dots on a grid without crossing lines.

Labyrinths of the World Hearts of the Planet is possibly the most beautiful game in the Labyrinths series. I found the depth of coloring to be perfect to portray the beauty of this fantasy world while bringing its characters to life. There is no need for me to recap the storyline as that’s done on the game’s main page and by another reviewer.
As enticing as the storyline might and graphics might be, what almost put me off from purchasing the game was reading the review that as usual gave a breakdown of the HOPS and Puzzles. Once I know that there is an overabundance of Puzzles as opposed to HOPs, I am far less likely to purchase the game. I am a HOS lover and that is why I became a member of BFG some 16 years ago – not to play Puzzle laden HOPA games. In spite of the numerous complaints from myself and other gamers, some developers continue to ignore our pleas for balance between those two components of their games. At one time I purchased every CE that was released but that is no longer the case. I now purchase half the quantity of games that I once did here at BFG. Here’s the thing, If I want to know how many HOPs or Puzzles are in a CE game, I will wait until I play the game. I would not hesitate to say that BFG loses a good portion of its HOPA business simply because some reviewers continue to rattle off every little detail of a game. Why purchase a game when you can simply read a review?
Once I tried the demo for Hearts of the Planet I was hooked. I did enjoy the gameplay because it was not always easy to figure out what I needed to do next in order to move forward in the game. I enjoy any game that allows me to use my brain rather than holding my hand as I play. Recently there have been far too many games that pretty much tell the gamer what needs to happen next. Fortunately, Hearts of the Planet lets me think for myself and figure out my next step. If I am stuck there is always that trusty hint button to use.
The HOS are creative, well-designed, and offer the usual variety of styles. It seems to me that there is at least one HOS where I haven’t seen that style used in the past. Although I far prefer the HOS to Puzzles (guess you must know that by now), I did happen to enjoy some of the Puzzles, but I also skipped many others. I do like that most of the Puzzles can be set to either solve in either Easy or Hard mode. Even though you specify the default mode for playing the Puzzles if you selected the custom mode of gameplay, you could still switch to the other mode for each Puzzle if you wish. This is just a comment, but I believe that Domini is the original and only developer for the Labyrinths series.
For me, the gameplay in Hearts of the Planet is enjoyable because I prefer going back and forth between scenes to playing a game that is strictly linear. I love a game where I have a lot of inventory and need to remember where items are used. I’ve still not finished the game and consider it to be long. Of course, I am a slow player since I don’t want to miss anything and find myself looking at every detail in each scene.
Labyrinths of the World Hearts of Planet is a terrific game and one that I’ve enjoyed playing. As always, I recommend that you try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy as well. Happy gaming Show less

Hello friends! As always, I review mostly on the game play and leave the story to others. Wow, this really is a long series! Graphics are excellent, even going in and out of close ups. We just have a very slight blur. Colors are very bright, but not over powering, and quite lovely. Animation is very well done, right down to the eyebrow movements...very realistic. Game play was excellent, with no problems during the demo. Voices are nicely done and are age and character appropriate. As usual in this series, not a lot of character interaction during the demo. You can click through the dialog if you read faster than they speak, without missing any of the story line or clues. Very little music, mostly chimes when you find something. . The sound FX are few and far between. In order to hear any background sounds, I had to turn the sound up on my computer. Then when the regular SFX came on, it was way too loud. They do need to do something other than a slight wind sound to enhance a scene or action. Please be aware that occasionally we have very bright lights when traveling
HOGs are a combination of lists and matching objects in a scene and so far predictable. I could be wrong on that one. A little different set up. However, we didn't have many HOGs during the demo. Mostly we did a lot of running around and collecting items needed to obtain an objective. Scenes are clear and items were not difficult to find. We do have a match 3 if you prefer that over the HOGs. The puzzles were nothing new and not as difficult as I expected. Still, they did take some thought to complete, even on easy mode. You do have the option of choosing hard for a lot more challenge. Hint system is very helpful. Rather than a transport feature, we have the excellent map that opens and shows us where we need to go next. As usual, you have the option of not having the hint that you have missed one of the collectibles in a particular location. Areas are clearly identified by name and picture.
Really like the collectibles. We have a little challenge here, but items are not too small to see. We have to find 15 morphing birds of various types; 70 coins to purchase items for our garden - a nice break from the boudoir; and 15 various collectibles, some of which can be a bit small, but still able to see.
The story was pretty much the same as all the others in this series. You are constantly on the move in this one, so you don't have time to get bored, but you do notice the lack of SFX. The story flows well enough, but could have been a bit more challenging. We do have the usual amount of backtracking to use or find something. I think most players will find this one interesting enough to warrant the CE price. I downgraded this one to 4.5, simply because we needed more HOGs and character interaction. Yes, I am adding this one to my every growing collection of CE games.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Play on! Show less

I used different wallpaper during the week. I had a lot to choose from. The crystal/birds to collect was nice but I don't think they are real in life birds. I played the videos several times. When I stop and start it's a good reminder where I am and what I was doing. I just plain enjoy them.
I like most puzzles on easy. Didn't like a few hops as they were too puzzle-like and not hop-like. Didn't like the map hops or the slide rule hops. Didn't like the hop to spot the differences that doesn't have a side by side comparison. You have to look at it and it collapses. I just click around on some thing like that because I dislike it so much.
I really liked the pattern on Lancelot's armor. I liked the submarine puttering across.
The bonus chapter was very long.
Replay 18 hops, 18 mini-games, 29 videos and 5 music. It has 4 chapters + bonus, 19 wallpapers and 34 concept arts. Liked the crystal Birds and the Garden. Backpack was worthless. Show less

A very enjoyable game packed with varied and vivid scenes, plus a well evolving and interesting storyline. The bonus chapter was excellent but didn't seem to link in with the main game that well ...
