a great HO game. i played on the custom level. good hint system. good story. it has to do with the ice queen. "the seller" grants wishes but not in the way that the people want. you fix what he has done as you play the game. i feel sure there will be others coming.
I recommend this game!

The assembly of characters from several other tales added more interest to the storyline. The voices and music were good and the game moved along at a nice pace.
I wasn't too annoyed with all the tasks, but found many of them silly and unnecessary time wasters. The gadget here is a magic wand and since I hate gadgets, I was prepared for the worst. However, it turned out to be okay, not used excessively, so I survived.
The HOPs were great fun for me, as usual. I'm not a fan of puzzles, these were of average challenge and I played most of them. A good variety. I was especially delighted with Dark Deal because it had a fair balance of HOPs and puzzles. I no longer buy games that are filled with an unreasonable amount of games. I appreciate that Domini didn't get carried away and I was able to enjoy this entertaining fairy tale.
All the usual features and options were available. The choices of game modes invites any skill level to enjoy this fairytale adventure. It wasn't a spectacular game, but provided an afternoon get-away from the stresses of the virus situation. And that makes it a A-OK with me! Show less
I recommend this game!

fromIt's a good thing Fairy Godmother is of sound mind, otherwise that lost & found contraption may have been too much, but then again, she did lose something of importance in the first place!?

Difficulty Range: Beginner
When you wish upon a suitcase, makes no difference who you are, but if you're the godson of Fairy Godmother, let's hope that you run hard! Ever wish that you could make a wish that you'd never have to worry about anything? That's exactly what Fairy Godmother's godson Kai wished, the problem is, he bought a wish from The Seller, and now he doesn't worry or care about anything or anyone. To make matters worse, he's on his way to see The Snow Queen and you'll never believe what he wants from her!
Sure, it's a great story, Domini always tells a great fairy tale, but they never bother to change how the player gets through the story. The opening scene has me picking a lock on my own purse, again! Blowing away smoke so I can see what's on the table, again! Using a diamond ring to cut glass, again!, Retrieve items in a sewer grate, again! Replace a missing wheel so I can get through the gate, again! Rake leaves, sift through a dirt pile, again! Melt the ice to get an item, again! Cut wires, tape wires, again! Retrieve items too high to reach, again! Unscrew bolts, pop out nails, again! Scare away crows, again! This all happens within the first 3 scenes...a paragraph full of the same cliche tasks that are repeated over, and over in 8 very long chapters that could have been told in 4. It makes me insane when I'm doing senseless tasks in one chapter and find myself doing the exact same things in the next 7 chapters, 7 times over...why????????
Gadgets/Helper:
Fairy Godmothers need a Magic Wand so as soon as she retrieves it from the Lost & Found bin (I kid you not!) you're good to go. The Magic Wand transforms objects but of course, it's a one and done charge and requires a recharge after each use with 3 Magic Crystals. The Magic Wand is used 5 times during the Main Chapters only and not in the CE Bonus Chapter at all.
Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only):
There are 15 Morphing Personal Items and 15 Glass Character Shards. There are 70 Zoom Zone Coins that can be used to purchase 15 boring Suitcase Items...doesn't everyone secretly desire to decorate a suitcase? There is an optional Collection Icon Tab that can be enabled or disabled in the settings as well.
Hidden Object Scenes:
There are 12 Hidden Object Scenes +5 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available, which btw, doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly. (you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match) I knew the HOP's were going to be less than desirable when the first one required me to make my own tea because the barista was clueless, and the counter was disgusting! (and I used milk that was unrefrigerated!) There were Interactive Listed Item Finds, Vertical & Horizontal Slider Bar Finds, Spot the Differences, Combo Silhouetted Shape Finds, Matching Pair Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds as well.
Mini-Games:
There are 17 Mini-Games +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Below are a few of my personal favorites:
1-Place element tokens in the correct order.
2-Navigate through the map by dragging the feet and finding & using items to overcome obstacles.
3-Rotate lines on a diamond-shaped grid to replicate the pattern.
4-Shoot balls into their color-coded slots.
Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only)
Did Fairy Godmother just ask the Seller for that youth wish, cuz the clock hands have spun back in time! Fairy Godmother has just graduated from the Academy and Detective Goodwin joins her on her very first case as Taleworld is faced with Dark Magic by an evil witch named Odette. This is an above-average-length Domini chapter spanning over 10 scene locations with just 4 additional Mini-Games and 5 Hidden Object Scenes, You will continue your search for the final 3 Morphing Personal Belongings, 3 Glass Character Shards, and 10 Zoom Zone Coins (of varying amounts) which allows you to purchase the final Suitcase Items. Honestly, after 8 long, repetitive chapters, I was just ready for the game to be over and this chapter seemed more of a chore than a delight.
Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only)
18 Wallpapers, 15 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 27 Movie Video Cutscenes, 39 Achievements, 16 Replayable Mini-Games, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Personal Belongings,15 Glass Character Shards, a gazillion Missing Notes, 70 Zoom-Zone Coins, 15 Suitcase Items (purchase with Coins...boring) 8 Main Chapters (really?) +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I was all excited since the Fairy Godmother series has been good so far. However, not much new here and same old same old.
Colors, visuals, and even voice overs are good
Game play nothing special
Story was okay but did not "grab" me as I was expecting
Not a buy
I don't recommend this game.

After having successfully solved the Cinderella case, the Fairy Godmother is back for her second adventure in Fairy Godmother Stories: Dark Deal. A trip to visit your godchildren Gerda and Kai goes south when you discover that something is wrong with Kai. With dark forces involved and a dangerous figure named The Seller at the helm, can you put your magical power to good use and settle this case?
Although the first Fairy Godmother game was based on a well-known fairy tale, Dark Deal seems to take a different approach and construct a new tale from the ground up. Still, originality runs low in this “new” storyline. A troubled relative, a mysterious villain, and hints of dark magic – nothing stops Fairy Godmother Stories: Dark Deal from becoming just another predictable fantasy hidden object game that feels all too familiar.
Fairy Godmother Stories: Dark Deal’s lack of innovation rings even truer when it comes to its gameplay. The adventure portion of the game is incredibly straightforward. Despite the massive volume of tasks to be completed, they are all cookie-cutter tasks that recycle a lot of the same-old HOPA tropes. Most tasks make logical sense given the context of the game, but there is also a handful of silly, out-of-place ones, including the totally unnecessary Magic Wand gadget. Domini Games exercise more creative control with the hidden object scenes and the puzzles and introduce a slew of neat ideas, but not nearly enough to save the game from being just another indistinguishable entry in the Domini machine.
Whether it be Labyrinths of the World or Dark Romance, Domini Games’ signature colorful visuals are always present. Fairy Godmother Stories: Dark Deal fits right into the studio’s neon-colored portfolio. As a fantasy-themed game, Fairy Godmother Stories: Dark Deal can afford to experiment more with its visuals, which it does so occasionally through breathtaking locales and gorgeous graphics. The audio components are also effective in bringing the game to life, from sound tracking the game’s magical landscapes to inserting personality into the characters.
Should you purchase the SE or CE?
I purchased the Collector's Edition but in hind sight I could have waited and purchased the Standard Edition for the price.
Fairy Godmother Stories: Dark Deal took me just under four hours to complete, plus an extra hour for the bonus chapter. The Collector’s Edition is filled to the brim with extra items; a strategy guide, wallpapers, concept art, soundtracks, videos, replayable hidden object scenes, replayable puzzles, achievements, collectibles, morphing objects, and suitcase items that can be purchased.
I like this new series and I like Domini Games, I just hope the next installment has a better storyline with more creativity; we'll just have to wait and see. Cheers! Show less
