I really like this new collection. The subject matter is more varied, containing more animals and people. The robot even has a canine companion, so I won't be as critical of his presence this time. It's always lovely when I'm greeted with a new Art By Numbers, goes great with my morning coffee.

Again what a pleasure to see what's waiting in each level, right up front. No anxiety about whether or not to purchase. This is by far the best paint by numbers "game" we have at BFG. It seems the dev has been taking notice of our reviews by the changes I've seen lately, like more people and animals, less food and collections of nonsensical tiny items. Today's release is full of pictures that are even more different and interesting than usual, in my opinion. A good mix of whimsical, sophisticated, simple, complex, and I adore the vintage style pics. I would love to see more vintage, they are so sweet and make me just feel so cheery as I paint. There's something here for everyone!

The spectacular array of colors takes Art By Numbers over the top in beauty and quality. They create texture, depth and detail that make even the simplest images spring to life and the end result is so rewarding. Other than a couple of niggles, for me, this series is the perfect solution to banishing stress and dullness from a weary day. Having background color options, no robot, MORE images, an option to enlarge and save them would be greatly appreciated.

The few features we do have, at least for me, are fine. I love the paint brush cursor because it's more like a brush stroke, not just a quick tap to apply the color. The free color mode is a wonderful outlet for one's imagination, there's no limit to what our minds can create with so many delicious colors. This feature makes the "game" last forever. The fantastic replay value makes Art By Numbers a stellar purchase.

So if you haven't tried it yet, give the demo a spin. Just paint yourself into a corner and marvel at the beauty. 72 gorgeous levels, no tech issues ever, fun for "artists" of all ages. Show less

The colors are always bright, the pictures are always beautiful. It's the last game I play before going to bed because it's very relaxing to me. I don't listen to the music/sound so I can't comment on that. There's no storyline and I like that because I don't need a story every time I play a game.

I just finished #9 in the series and I did not care for it as much as others because there were a lot of pictures with very, VERY tiny areas. TEENY tiny areas. Right from the start where before the pictures would start with large areas and easy and work their way up to more intricate and smaller areas. I definitely prefer that because I don't have to zoom my screen to the point where I can't see the entire picture.

I also wish the completed picture didn't 'show' for a hot second and you can't click on a completed picture and get a full screen or larger picture. I like to look at what I've done and enjoy the finished product. I'd LOVE for that to change.

Again, an automatic purchase for me. Everyone has their own tastes so play the demo, you've got nothing to lose.

I love this series. I'm pleased to see they have reverted to going back to the lowest number available. This is handy if like me you never use hints. If you can't see that last bit then just go onto the next number and when you've completed that it will go back to the one you've missed and you can almost always see it straight away. I agree these games are so relaxing BUT they messed up on this one and I hope they go back to the previous game play.
The previous 14 games in this series did not put you back to the colors you missed finishing. I like to take the more complicated pictures and break them into 4 or more parts. That way I can zoom in and complete each chunk them move on to the next one.

In this game if you try to break the picture up into chunks to complete, you are sent back to any colors you previously did not finish instead of pushing you on to the next color. This makes finishing those very complicated later pictures a real pain.
Other than that one flaw the game is pretty nice although some of the pictures are not very pretty. The skateboard one is ghastly and I would like to see more people of color instead of everyone looking like Ken and Barbie. Show less

I have several minor complaints with these games:
1. The developers continue to use a gold/linen background as the default, which makes the colors difficult to see. I usually darken the screen all the way to create the necessary contrast. But when the finished puzzle returns to the gallery, the background reverts to gold. Ugh. And there's really no way to fully enjoy the finished image ...Show more

I have several minor complaints with these games:
1. The developers continue to use a gold/linen background as the default, which makes the colors difficult to see. I usually darken the screen all the way to create the necessary contrast. But when the finished puzzle returns to the gallery, the background reverts to gold. Ugh. And there's really no way to fully enjoy the finished image again.

2. There are a lot of small puzzles that take up 1/3 or less of the screen. I mean, why bother including them if you can't manage to fill the screen? I think the scales were probably the worst.

3.The quality of the puzzles & drawing has deteriorated. Some had very heavy black lines, like you'd use for a tattoo or comic book. And I could not believe I was looking at a knock-off of a "Rat Fink" character! Google "Rat Fink" if you weren't a teenager during the 1960s. It replaces the vacuous-eyed fairies as my least favorite theme. Although I dislike the Robot, it pales in comparison to the above mentioned puzzles. Collection #14 and the earlier collections did not have such low quality that took maybe 5 minutes to fill in.

4. I don't care for the instant returns to Color #1 either, especially if there are upwards of 50 colors. But it's not a buzz killer for me.

Bottom line, I am always happy to see a new version of this game, but quality control needs to pay a wee more attention. I'd normally rate these as full-on 5 stars, not 3, and am disappointed about the trend these puzzles might be taking. I hope I'm wrong. I realize it's a Standard Game that doesn't cost that much, but I don't want to see them slip into something I dislike. Show less

I thought at first it was going to be another search and find, but in later pictures, the beautiful pictures were there, and it was not quite the challenge to find pin head fields.

I downloaded and bought this latest version because I figured the developer was listening to those of us who were becoming frustrated with the minute fields that required a hint even if the picture was enlarged.

I am only on the second level and am losing my patience with this version. Not only are there way too many minute fields, but the pictures are not that appealing.

Won't say this is the last version of this series I'll purchase, but if the developer releases another version as frustrating as this, that will be my last. Just sayin'... Show less
