This is a great adventure game, which to me was reminiscent of Myst. The navigational system is intuitive, but I did find that the controls were a tad too helpful.

Definitely and escape-room type game, but you won't need to be an engineer to figure out what to do.

Definitely and escape-room type game, but you won't need to be an engineer to figure out what to do.

One of the great things about it is that once you complete a "room" and enter the new "room" you can't go back; so if you are lost as to do what to do, you don't need to be fearful that you forgot to do something several rooms back. Also, the game won't allow you to progress to the next room if you haven't done everything that is required. No Sierra dead-ends!

NB: there aren't any combat or arcade sequences in this game.

Definitely worth checking out, but remember: it is an ADVENTURE game, not an HOPA. Show less

I'll never complain about an Adventure Game release on Big Fish Games, although technically, this is a point & click, escape-the-room game. I'm glad BF has decided to finally offer us games that aren't by the same developer every week, and are finally realizing that there are a ton of Adventure fans who are tired of being offered the same hand-holding games!

Yes, the graphics are basic (you can set the graphics from Low-Medium, or High) and they are dark and dreary, but you have just been sucked into the 14th century (guesstimate) so this is how I'd expect the atmosphere to be!

You can choose to "walk" naturally by clicking on areas you want to visit and wait while your character moves naturally to the area, or you can choose to "teleport" which transports you to the area you click instantly by going to the Options Tab. You can explore the rooms entirely, from floor to ceiling, by clicking and dragging the scene in any direction. Don't worry about getting disoriented or lost, you will be in one room at a time.

If you are new to the genre, I think this is a great game to start out with because it's easy to navigate and the tools you'll find are fairly easy to figure out where and what to use them on. The goal of the game is to find the Iron Key in each room that unlocks the door. Naturally, you'll come across tasks that require a tool of some sort so you'll have to explore the scene to be able to escape the room. There is a Hint Feature but it will only point you in the right direction by clues each time you click the Question Mark icon...which is the biggest difference between Adventure Games and HOPAs.

When you come across something that has an Eye, there's nothing required of the player, it usually just explains what you are looking at, or shows the text of newspaper clippings, etc. Important things will have an icon that says "Inspect" or "Interact" and those usually require finding the right item to interact with them...so far, (entering 5th Chapter) everything has a logical task. Items you need will say "Take" and when you need to use an inventory item, you simply drag the item to the circle icon to use it. If it shows red sparkles it is the wrong item, if it sparkles green, it is the correct item and it will work on the task.

This Collector's Edition version has 12 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 7 Music Soundtracks, Hidden Notes from the Professor, 9 Chapters (rooms) Is it worth the CE moniker? Probably not but if you are an Adventure Game fan, you won't want to wait, and I'm totally okay with the entertainment I'm getting for the price.

This is a game you interact with. I really like it, somewhat dark but at least it challenges you. Like the old games, none of the hint or cute animal friends here. It did take a while to get the gist of the game but it is well worth it. I do not have speakers on so can't evaluate the sound quality. This is a buy for me. Can't even guess how long it is because you have to inspect every location you are in. Some won't like it but I do recommend working through the demo before discarding it. Show less

I cannot say anything about the length of the game which gamers have said is short. I played the entire demo and did not get too far as I did not realize that I needed to save the game when I exited, therefore the game put me back a few steps and I did not realize it at first. So make sure you save your game and you will not have that problem.

No matter the length of the game I purchased it because it is fun and a bit challenging which is right up my alley.

Try this game and let BF know how appreciative we are for a different type genre and developer. Show less

Old school game which I like! Quite simple to play but there is help if you get stuck. Not certain it's CE worthy but it's a definite buy for me since it's on sale today.

This game was great however after I finished the main game, I expected an extra chapter or 2. It is supposed to be a CE after all. I don't understand why this game is considered a CE, is it because of the music?? Who cares about the music after the game is done.

I first played Morrock when it was a beta and it was nothing like it is now. Many improvements have been made as far as easier navigating, gameplay and finding things that you need to in order to progress in the game. While it was tedious to play then its much more fun now. .

What fun this game is but I am an adventure game lover so a bit biased yet this is a good game if you've been wanting to try the genre. Of course, this game also falls into the "escape room" category but because the pace and structure is confined, you have to think but there are hints and plenty of help, just no hand holding.

This Game has been offered not that long ago & is back again..never-the-less a Great Game with excellent Graphics..it should be noted that the Standard Version & Collectors Version are one & the same..there is no difference..It is also quiet Short for either Version..so hope the follow up Game is much longer..
