This is your typical match 3 that gets progressively harder the more levels you play. Matching 4 items creates a clear crystal that will match with anything for 200 points. Match 5 squares, creates a bomb. There are double layer tiles to remove and snow & wind tiles to match beside.

This is your typical match 3 that gets progressively harder the more levels you play. Matching 4 items creates a clear crystal that will match with anything for 200 points. Match 5 squares, creates a bomb. There are double layer tiles to remove and snow & wind tiles to match beside.

BUILDING AREA: It has a really cool panoramic area (horizontally scroll 3 screens) where you can place new buildings you buy with your game points. Later, the buildings get upgraded with your points but I couldn’t tell what the upgrades were. When I upgraded the cookie factory and "made cookies" it didn't really do much. I wish it had been a little busier with moving people/elves/animals or something (the way Queens Garden series does.) Hopefully after the demo you do actually get to upgrade with moving items but they weren’t in the demo. If it had I would have rated this game higher from a 4* to a 5*.

DIAMONDS: when you use your points to buy a new building in your building screen you earn diamond points that can be used to replenish 3 different powerups (see below.) Complete new levels or replay previous ones to get more diamonds.

POWER UPS: (located on the right of the play board)
1. Red mighty bombs- take out 9 tiles at once
2. rockets- which remove entire line/row
3. Magic wand- removes all of one type of tile

At the beginning it points out a "gold star" slider that appears under the level's play board. It can be removed in options and makes the game harder (though I never figured out how.) What I did notice is by level 17 it was way harder to get 3 gold stars every time or enough gold stars to buy new items for your Winter Wonderland. I left the star bar "on" below the game board.

The task buttons weren't all that clear as to what they did. They are:
...--- bulleted icon in lower left is to the "building items" you can purchase.
> Arrow lower right = next level
Progress: lower right- Shows how many stars you've earned a level.

I liked the colorful tile selection and they changed up the tiles enough (at least in the demo.) The music was festive but I turned it way down. All in all I really liked this Christmas M3. This one is a buy for me! Show less

Simple Match3 game with nice clear graphics and just the right amount of instruction. Music was bright and cheerful. Some of the levels are timed but with decent amount of time given. Up to 3 stars are given per level but if you aren't satisfied with your score you can replay it right away.

I recommend this game!

This game is fairly simple but pleasant to pass the time. It has the annoying feature of unwanted instruction but other than that it is good. What you earn from your matches allows you to build an elf village that was destroyed when the local factory exploded. Not wonderfully unique like some of the jewel match games but I'd give it a try, especially if you are a match 3 lover.

I recommend this game!

Nice game with 225 levels. There are a lot of explosions and building the town is fun. Don't think it is just for children as if you want three stars you might have to "redo" the upper levels several times. You win money to purchase the town buildings and diamonds to purchase your power-ups.

I recommend this game!

Looks like it's that time of year again, time to rebuild Elf Town that is! It's been about 5 years since the last game was offered but it doesn't look like anything has changed, the tiles and game mechanics are the same as last time, even Elf Town itself was the same town with the same buildings to rebuild (is this another revamped game?)

You can play in a Relaxed or Timed Mode and switch between modes at any point in time. Levels can be replayed but the levels are pretty easy and can be finished faster than a sleigh bell rings while the snow is glistening. The Stars are converted to coins which are used to rebuild Elf Town with Houses, Factories, etc., or to complete tasks such as gathering firewood.

Large matches will give you a Powerup on the board. A Match 4 gives you a Jewel, a Match 5 gives you a Bomb and as you progress, Bonuses are added to the right of the board to be used at your discretion. There are Directional Rockets, Mighty Bombs that clear a 9 cell square, and Magic Wands that clear all of the same type of tile as chosen.

There aren't a whole lot of Obstacles other than Snow or Ice covered Tiles. Some levels require you to drop a Treasure Chest or two off the board but it doesn't have a whole lot of bells and whistles...especially when comparing it to the amazing Cursed House which was just released a few days ago!

These games gave been out using the same algorithms for 20 years. That stupid elf has to walk you through every single level, really??? I had to shut it off. how annoying. Turn off help and it might be fun.
