fromEvery mosaic grid I finished was done by counting. So it's a logic based mosaic game... the best kind!

Based on 1hr completed demo only
(My rating more like 4.5)
The character in the menu screen is standing perfectly still aside from her blinking eyes. (a little creepy, not gonna lie)
Maybe she's standing like that because of the tiger right behind her (he is also totally still and blinking at her. haha)

The character in the menu screen is standing perfectly still aside from her blinking eyes. (a little creepy, not gonna lie)
Maybe she's standing like that because of the tiger right behind her (he is also totally still and blinking at her. haha)
The intro. map shows 9 areas that unlock. In the demo I only unlocked the 1st. In that first area I counted 16 puzzles. So that means this game has a *lot* of puzzles/levels left to do.
In options:
It has 5 types of mosaic tiles
1. pearl 2. glass 3. chiseled 4.soft 5. rough
2. you can choose semi-opaque or opaque (re: grid itself)
The things I liked about this game outweighed the things I didn't. I've been playing these for years, and used to play them every day. I hadn't played one in a long time and hoped I'd remember how. This game is intuitive, the teaching guide is awesome so I was back on track with my usual tips & tricks in no time.
Stuff I didn't like:
- The music runs on a loop, over and over. I shut it off after 15 min. I turned up the sound effects (which I loved.)
- The 1st level I played with the choice "glass" style mosaic.
I had several mis-clicks simply because the grid-background is white and the white mosaic tile is too close in color. I switched over to "rough" mosaic style and that helped the problem a bit. The rest of the puzzles I encountered didn't have white, only off white, so it wasn't a big deal.
- At first I didn't like the brightness of the highlighted "row guides" but as the puzzles get bigger I adapted to them easier. They may want to "beige down" the white brightness though.
- I really disliked the one minigame I played in the demo. It was between level 1 & 2. Slide the plates to solve a picture puzzle. At least the picture boxes were numbered to make it easier and there was a shadow background of the finished picture but I have never liked that kind of MG to begin with. I got half way done with it and ended up skipping it.
I Liked:
+ LOGIC BASED. Every mosaic grid I completed in the demo I was able to count for the location of the tiles. I'm just the type that prefers to play these without hints.
+ I loved the sound effects
+ I liked how when you finished the picture they give you a little bit of information about your finished mosaic. It wasn't just a drawing ID.
+ The background art behind the grids are beautiful.
+ I love loved the little blank dots in the middle of the grid squares that would change color according to what color you were using (but they were a pinch too large, imo.)
I liked this one. It felt thought out and complete. Show less
I recommend this game!

I was thrilled to discover this mosaic game this morning. I own all the Wilderness Mosaic games and love them, enjoy them often. I'm glad they chose India for this one. They are not terribly challenging but I don't care, because the images are always interesting and the colors are really beautiful.
The pearl and rough tile finishes are my favorites and I love both opaque backgrounds. Only the semi-opaque was available in the other games. The custom cursor is a bit too fat, for me, mine is quicker and smoother. The game has only 2 power-ups but they do a good job. The butterfly reveals a single cell. The whale reveals a 3x3 area. I like how they accumulate as you successfully fill in the cells. A nice little feature. The unique hint feature is lovely and recharges quickly. Click the hummingbird at top of screen if you need to refer to the tutorial which is minimal with easy instructions.
Each finished picture is labeled, a good thing since I have to admit a few are hard to recognize in this new edition. Each comes with a tidbit of trivia which I really enjoy. You can enjoy your creation up close for as long as you wish and take in those lovely colors, then just click it away.
5 mistakes are allowed. The numbers of cells at top and left of grid are helpful but you have to be careful because they blend into the background colors somewhat, and it's easy to misread some of them. That is so frustrating but I just bite my lip and start over since I always want all the stars! There are up to 6 colors and not on a "wheel" which move to the next color automatically when one is completed. That's pretty standard, but you can switch to whichever you prefer. Switching back and forth helps me to fill in the image much easier, as does filling in the larger areas first.
India is so picturesque, home to many wonderful creatures. The graphics are gorgeous, the colors are delicious and I find that the rough tile finish works very nicely with animals. A whole different look. Also, the colors and finishes add a very special touch that isn't found in so many other mosaic games and the images aren't the usual cutesy ones. The grids are a nice size and sometimes I wonder how in the world will I accomplish this! But the power-ups and hints work their magic and quickly get me out of a jam.
I wasn't fond of the new slider puzzle, I've always struggled with those and I ended up skipping it after several minutes. There was one other, very simple rotating tile puzzle. The pictures in both were really pretty. There may be other varieties, but my demo was cut short due to my sleepy eyes not cooperating. I had to stop. I get my first glance at the new games at 3 a.m. here in Florida.
With 9 chapters plus a bonus chapter, 18 mini games and 134 levels, Wilderness Mosaic 5: India is sure to please a bunch of griddler lovers out there! It is pure quality, in my opinion, and I hope another is in the near future. I had to buy it and will have something lovely to start my sunshiny day. Show less

I have enjoyed this series, and this is the best yet. Beautiful colours forming really intersting pictures with the trivia titbits as well.
I was really happy to see it this morning as I have been resorting to replaying my old mosaics. If people like this one for its colours and graphics the two Daydream Mosaics are worth a try.
I recommend this game!

This is a well-made and enjoyable mosaic (nonogram) puzzle game. Colors are fresh, numbers are easy to read, and the final pictures are pleasant and almost recognizable. I especially enjoy the little factoids about India that you get when you finish each puzzle.

PixQuake does it again, they have created another beautiful Mosaic game that appeals to animal and nature-lovers! Not only are the chosen images beautiful, but there are also some interesting features available, and for me, the challenge was perfect. Some of the levels are easily solved while other levels are a bit more challenging, so it was a nice mixture that allowed me to relax and enjoy the mosaics, I don't want all of the levels to be so challenging that I lose the relaxing zen-vibe aura.
I also loved that you create the entire scene, not just a single image, and you learn interesting facts as you go along too. The colors are really vibrant and I liked how the crossed-off cells disappear into the background to make it easier to see the grid. The only issue I have with this series is that it doesn't save your progress and for that oversight, I have deducted a star! Let's face it, everyone wants their progress saved because life is full of interruptions and we can't always finish a level!
There are 5 Tiles to choose from, Pearl, Glass, Chiseled, Soft, and Rough texture. I chose the rough texture which I don't normally do, and because of the Wilderness theme, the finished image was even better! There is also a custom cursor option as well. As I stated earlier, I love how the X'd or crossed-off cells darken & basically disappear or blend into the background because it makes everything so easy to see what's left and what still needs to be addressed. The best part is that the finished image doesn't disappear in a split second as it does on some Mosaic games, you can admire it as long as you want, then simply click on it to move on to the next puzzle. (isn't that the point?)
There is a Butterfly feature that will reveal a single cell and a Whale that reveals a 3 x 3 field on the board. You are allowed up to 5 mistakes, but that affects your overall Star-rating. There is also a Hint feature available if you get stumped, but it has to recharge before you can use it again.
For those of you who have never played a Mosaic Griddler, there are numbers on each row and column that indicate how many filled-in cells there will be, and each group of numbers must be separated by at least one empty or crossed-off cell. It's easier to fill in the larger groups of numbers first, and whenever possible the top, bottom, and sides, then cross-off cells that couldn't possibly contain a filled-in cell. You can switch between Color bubbles (located on the right side) when you get stuck which will ultimately narrow down the playing field and help you solve the puzzle.
There's always something interesting going on at my new forum and we're about to start a new group play game! If you miss chatting with fellow fishies from the Big Fish Forum days or want to join the group games then hike on over to The Woods Forum at thewoodsforum.boards.net Show less

If only this game had a Zen mode the way the penguins have, I would be its most enthusiastic player! I prefer to figure out where I've gone wrong instead of being barked at when my pointer veers off course or I've miscalculated. The background is beautiful and there is interesting information but I couldn't relax because I was too afraid to click the wrong place.
