All the criticisms of the other reviews are correct: this is the same basic game just with different art work.

Yes, it's repetitive. Yes, it's familiar. Yes, they don't even try to change things up.

But sometimes all I want is to play a few rounds of a game that I can pick up and put down at any time. Just enough to involve my brain, but not so challenging as to require that I pay attention ...Show more

But sometimes all I want is to play a few rounds of a game that I can pick up and put down at any time. Just enough to involve my brain, but not so challenging as to require that I pay attention or have to think.

Sometimes the same old thing isn't a bad thing. If you're looking for anything exciting, this isn't it. If you want a simple Solitaire game to pass the time and help you wind down, this will do that. Don't expect a lot, this isn't that kind of game. But as a basic, simple game - this is fine. Show less

I love Solitaire games. So, naturally I love this game. It has great card sets and backs and the background scenery hauntingly beautiful. I would have give it 5 stars, but there is a glitch with store. You can't purchase a shuffle. When you try you add a Mulligan instead. I waiting for the developer to fix this error to continue playing the game.

I recommend this game!

I like the solitaire games like this that challenge you to find specific gold cards to win. Otherwise it is like most up/down solitaire games. People complain that it is the same as always but that's kind of the nature of the game IMO. Try it for yourself.

I admit, I have liked some of these games in the past, despite the (often well-earned) terrible reviews. I've made peace with it as a game of strategy - how many gold cards do I need to get out of the level and how crazy do I need to make myself to accumulate enough to do so. There is no real story, the music is identical to the first one I played years ago, and the card back choices are identical game to game, but in the past, the locations were colorful and interesting, even if they repeated. That's changed radically. I played two levels I think, and gave up after that because of the drab, uninteresting locations. I didn't mind playing this game as long as there were nice locations to look at, but with that gone, what's left is the repetitive nature of these games, the same somewhat spooky music, and the sometimes impossible task of making enough money to buy the over-priced jokers, etc. This certainly won't be a buy for me. Show less

How disappointing! The same theme music from the Halloween solitaire game. The same card layout! The same levels! I spent 30 minutes on it, and that was enough. Not fun, unless this is the first time you have played one of these games. Nothing "Grimm Tales" about it, very disappointed.

I don't recommend this game.

Have you ever wondered why this developer never even attempts to make a different kind of solitaire game? It's because that would require them to program a game from scratch instead of just changing the title and calling it a brand-new game! I came across a website recently that listed the revenue stats for each of these games, and trust me, they went from hero to zero pretty quickly so it baffles me that they don't attempt to offer something new, obviously this type of solitaire ain't making them rich!

It's pretty Grimm when you know exactly what features a game will have even before downloading the demo. It's pretty Grimm when you know the music and sounds by heart. It's pretty Grimm when you know the Shop will have the same three items for the same prices. It's pretty Grimm when you know the levels by heart because they are always the same. It's horribly Grimm when you know for a fact that it will be another Solitaire game that doesn't allow you to remove all of the cards and that the game will end when you remove the Gold cards...it's a Grimm Tale indeed!

You can choose from 9 uninteresting themed card backs and three face card fonts, and yes, the cards are the same cards offered in the previous game. You are forced to begin the game in Newbie mode, which allows you to replay any hand; then, if you prefer, you can switch to the Professional mode, which only allows you to replay the entire pack of 10 levels.
You need to earn a specified amount of points to unlock the next pack, and the scoring is similar to bowling. In the event of a perfect score, the points of that level are added to the next.

The tutorial always makes you click another card off of the deck, even though there are several playable card options available on the board. (but then again, you don't really need a tutorial if you have played any other solitaire game by this developer)

When you remove a Bonus card with a Swirly Gem, it will take forever as it freezes continued gameplay to tell you what you won. Most of the time, it gives you +499 extra points, but occasionally, you'll get a Joker, Mulligan, or a Shuffle. Because it takes so long, finding two of these cards back to back is sheer agony!

None of the synopsis is true except the 200 levels. The graphics and card backs are dark and as always those wonderful Gold Cards are in abundance. They sometimes place them in such a way that you are doomed almost right away. These cards are such a tremendous game spoiler!

Who wants to play solitaire that doesn't let you clear the table by yourself? It takes away the challenge so for me there's no point to playing. In one hand I was left with 26 cards on the table. It's impossible to work around them 99.99% of the time. Also the levels, as you continue, will give you decks with fewer cards and put more of the same cards face up. For instance 5 queen's and no cards to play them.

It's impossible to enjoy games from this developer, it's the same let-down year after year. Every demo is void of change. Let's face it, change will never happen. It amazes me that they keep returning with such a low star rating! No more reviews from me. They just refuse to improve their games so why bother!

I can't imagine enduring 200 levels of this. I would suggest that if you're a serious solitaire player, pass it up. Show less
