Love these games and have been looking for a new one. Yes, no story -- just find and eliminate the gold cards. This is my favorite game of solitaire.

I enjoy playing games through this developer but Number 2 is missing from the series I enjoyed the first game better if I reviewed that I would have given it 5 stars

Its so disappointing when you click on your deck and two or 3 cards go with it. No wonder it takes so long to win a game because you don't have enough cards.

I don't recommend this game.

just so many games that BFG have to recycle

who can blame them - times are hard & games not so good

I think we understand - but bring back the hard mystery games!

not just the paint & find animals

Why put mystery in the title if there is no story included in the game? Plus I found no Black Raven 2, not that it really matters to me but it might to someone who likes to collect series. The card backs are not attractive because the artwork is very dark. The card faces are easier to see and art is very simple.

The cards are quite small and naturally the game still features those gold cards that just ruin the fun, IMO. I want to clear the entire board myself, that is my goal, even if I have to replay a level many times. There is no fun or satisfaction in victory if the gold cards finish the level for me with a perfect score. Some players really like this feature but I think it spoils the challenge. The score means nothing if I don't earn it. In the demo, I was left with 7 cards in one level and 4 in another, yet it was a perfect score. One of the levels contained over 8 gold cards, making it impossible to work around them for very long, trying to clear the board. There are 2 game modes. The Pro Mode unlocks only after completing the first Pack in Newbie Mode. All levels can be replayed. Any of them can be played again in Newbie, but in Pro Mode only the entire pack can be replayed.

The Shop offers only Joker, Shuffle and Mulligan, and they are expensive. As the game progresses it will surely require a few purchases to help out. Too bad there isn't a larger selection and lower prices.

I always play the demos for solitaire no matter who the dev is or what the reviews say. I love the game because it involves strategy and though most are similar I'm always looking for the ones with fun obstacles, great challenge, beautiful artwork, rebuilding. Once again 8 Floor fails to deliver, I was hoping to find that the Gold Cards disappeared at least. I quit purchasing 8 Floor games long, long ago because they never address any changes/improvements. Hopefully, some day they will surprise us all with something that deserves more than 1 or 2 stars! Show less

I couldn't help but notice that this game was developed by a new developer, Melon Games (and apparently so was The Black Raven 2) I was totally expecting a whole new experience with this Solitaire Game, after all, it IS a different developer, right?

WRONG! Everything is exactly the same, all the way down to the same level layouts as all the other games. There is still no option to continue playing after the Gold Cards are removed, and the Shop still only has the same 3 features, a Mulligan (Undo) to purchase for 2500, a Shuffle for 2500, or a Joker to purchase for 5000.

The graphics are decent and there's a nice selection of creepy Raven-themed card styles available, but that's about all this game has going for it. There's no mystery to this solitaire game, there's no story, The Black Raven 3 is just another cookie-cutter version and it's certainly no different than The Black Raven 1.

You can choose from 9 Raven-themed card backs, and 3 different face cards, one of which is a large font. You begin the game in Newbie mode, which allows you to replay any hand, Professional mode only allows you to replay the entire pack of 10 levels. There are 12 different Packs, and each pack has 10 levels, you need to earn the specified amount of points to unlock the next pack, and the scoring is similar to bowling.

Another feature I don't like in this devs games is that the tutorial makes you click another card off of the deck even though there are several more cards available on the board. I'm reluctant to skip the tutorial just in case they have added a new feature, which never happens, but one never knows, so I remain hopeful.

I also hate that when you remove a card with a Wax Seal, it takes forever to explain what the card gives you, as it freezes continued gameplay to tell you what you won. Most of the time it gives you +499 extra points, but occasionally, a Joker, Shuffle, or a Mulligan. Finding two of these cards back to back is agonizing!

The Black Raven 3 still has NO mystery, NO raven, NO amazing graphics and NO mini games. This developer uses the same game template over and over and over. It's a simple chain solitaire that gets boring after several hands, especially with the cheesy hand drawn graphics.

This is just my opinion, but maybe Big Fish should re-release some old quality ...Show more

This is just my opinion, but maybe Big Fish should re-release some old quality games, starting from a few years ago, and offer a BOGO on them. It would generate some sales, and it would stop us from having to see these cheapo, silly games being offered every day. Show less
